Actually, after checking your roster again, Moondragon might be fun with your Blob, Kang / Polaris (or maybe Ikarus / Blackjack etc. to go invis / airborne and let Blob take those punches)

Blob doesn't need to be in front like Rouge to get that sweet sweet defense.

I'm not sure if Moondragon can spam enough, and the other problem is that she eats special tiles too, before Blob can do his thing.

For anybody else: Blob turns special tiles into 1-turn CD tiles. If you pair him with a tile spammer like Polaris, he'll make a TON of CD tiles. If you pair Blob + spammer with Hawkeye or Kang, that guy will produce a TON of AP. The loop works with Polaris because she can use blue to stun + make more tiles, and she creates a ton of tiles with her passive anyway.

aaah yes, I forgot she gets rid of the tiles outright. Screw that character, she's dead to me.

Also, I see your Coulson only at level 475, so there's that.

Yeah, but you know I love me some Chasm, but only because he shuts down like have of this game and I need him for that again, sweet sweet defense. Someday I'll have your Blob, but until then, Chasm is the man. You should rent out your roster for people to try, I won't pay much, but I would pay, not much?

I think that violates their terms of service!

    That's a duplicate, Coulson #1 is lvl533.

That's weird, my version of the ToS states, and I quote:
"Any player "the renter" has the right to rent their account (and therefore roster) to any other player "the rentee", until the needs of said players are met, by: implementing a functional training mode for players to actually try out characters without getting destroyed by max level "tryhards" in SIM. The renter accepts full responsibility for any lost content or changed account info."

Just know that I would never do anything to your account!

And, so many questions about the double Coulsons :D

Blob is insane and the second best match damage scaler in the game. If you place him with a strike spammer, Polaris and R4G are awesome for this, you can get insane match damage pretty fast. He is my next to ascend, I just haven't yet because I use him in DDQ.

If you play him C4rnage he will throw tiles out and if they appear in the bottom two rows Blob (as long as he is placed after C4rnage) will convert them in the same turn. So you can quickly get that damage out.

Even as a 4 I would use him over a large part of the 5* roster.

3*AuntMay ascended to 4 is everywhere in Simulator. Usually see her paired with Chasm (yep, he's relevant again!) and OmegaRed. She is definitely a great one to get Ascended to 4. But don't ascend her to 5 as her powers actually decrease for the boosts from 4 to 5.

I've only ever pulled classics and I pull a lot of them, so I get tons of 4*. Before ascension showed up, my strategy was to keep duplicate 370s if they weren't a feeder yet. (If they were a feeder I'd keep one 370 and one that was being levelled). So I ended up having a ton of them for some of the non feeders. I think I had 4 max Luke Cages!

A few questions on this topic, as a recently returned player:

Does this mean that some characters' powers are changed (besides the expected numbers progression) when they ascend from 4* to 5*?

Is there a list with these changes?

Does it only happen when ascending to 5* or can happen as well from 3->4?

This thread is probably the closest thing to a list. On the positive side, Coulson's passive CD creator goes from 1 cd when a power is fired to 5, he is probably the "best" improvement I'm aware of. Ghost Rider (johnny Blaze) penance stare takes a huge hit for some reason, and instead of doing 200% punitive damage it now maxes out at 86%. Most of the match damage boosters seem to come alive, but most/all of the "jump-in-fronts" end up with damage thresholds that are useless. I've seen people say things about 3* increases that get better at 4* and then worse at 5* primarily with 3* Aunt May, but I'm not sure what specifically is happening there.

Echoing @ThaRoadWarrior , this thread is probably the closest to a "list" that exists.

There are a few 3* -> 4* that change / improve. These are the ones I can recall off the top of my head that had material changes

Angel: Damage is supercharged to a degree that is inexplicable. My 312 3Angel4 does 42K damage for blue, 26K for green, 26K for each black tile. 5* Archangel does 12K, 23K, 17K respectively

Aunt May: Yellow boosts power damage of teammates by 100% at 3* level, 200% at 4* level, and 75%?!?! at 5* level

Human Torch: Destroys 4 tiles instead of 2, speeding up his spammability of red

The Hood: Yellow costs 8 AP instead of 15, but still ends the turn

They addressed the case of some abilities getting worse from 4 star to 5 star when ascension first went live and they said it was to offset the fact that they have 5 star health.

I'm pretty sure they use ghost rider as the example. 200% damage is fine in 4 star land where he naturally is because it's not op against other 4 stars and in 5 star play he'll get wiped out by 5 star match damage quickly. But as a 5 star he has enough hp to live for awhile and he can punish 5 stars harshly just for their match damage, so his black is tuned down a bit to better fit 5 star play.

I would assume aunt may is the same thing. As a 4 star the 200 percent boost to stats isn't a big deal because 5 stars can get rid of her quickly. As a 5 star when she can hang around a 200% boost was deemed excessive.

It's sort of interesting because these characters don't get strictly worse as 5*, but different abilities get good.

The go-to for this pre ascension was 4* Deadpool, whose passive lost a bunch of utility as he got higher level, but whose red and purple (especially) got much much stronger. This seems like the case with the ascended guys -- they play like different characters.

Ghost Rider is a pretty good example post ascension, because his black does get worse as a 5*, but his green and red are VERY strong.

Thanks for the answers, guys. If I understand correctly, the changes are not even written down in the in-game ability descriptions? You can only sort of figure out something is different by playing?

Oh no, all the in game descriptions are accurate. There might be some issues or bugs somewhere, but for the most part the powers do what they say they do.

Except you can only find out the difference by searching for a roster with the ascended version, there's only pleasant surprise or buyer's remorse otherwise. I understand not giving us a full sandbox mode (people would almost definitely find even more things to "exploit" there), but something like a "preview changes" function to ascension (and maybe even champing?) would be pretty cool.

I think that would be helpful, yes. But also, honestly, I haven't found a single character where the overall powerset resulted in "buyer's remorse."

Like 4* Ghost Rider, right -- we only ever used him for his black power before, and when folks saw his black power was worse, we assumed the entire character was useless. But what actually happened was sort of a redistribution into his other powers.

I expect similar with Aunt May ascended to 5*. I bet her passive gets worse but her other powers get much better.
