If you're using this as a way to champ old characters, it seems like you need to accumulate shards long before you'll know if you actually need them or not. I honestly don't understand why they set that up as a per-character resource rather than a generic currency you could spend when you wanted on who you wanted.

First of all - thanks to the Devs for trying new things. For a game that has thrived on rinse and repeat for quite a few years there is a commendable level of effort being put into trying to keep this game fresh.And now to the moaning...well you knew it couldn't be all Unicorn parties with sparkles!As I mentioned in the previous thread - Shards would have been an excellent solution to things at the 5* tier (allbeit with slightly better payouts) where progression is glacial anyway but at the 4* and specifically the 3* tier I am not digging it. Not to re-hash the thread but extra pages, less growth, poor pay-outs with no guarantees that additional Shards will be "neutral", potential waste yadda yadda yadda. I specifically see no obvious solution to dilution either at the 4* tier - by the time an average player gets their 4* TH cover another 4* will have been released anyway so they are back to square one in terms of getting ahead of the chase.No my biggest issue is that now like nearly everything in this game, even opening tokens is about grinding. I liked Bonus Heroes - it was instant gratification like winning a Crash of the Titans battle or hitting a points total in PvP. I hate PvE - yes it is the certain path and all you need to do is trudge on down it, same step by same sodding step but...that is super dull. This is like being told that there is Ice Cream for dessert but then you find out it is just one spoonful per day and by the end of it you sort of forgot to care any more because it is now just a goopy mess and you are wistfully thinking about the days of chocolate cake.

Shards feel like dilution on dilution. Also, this move feels like it makes the game even more Pay-to-win.3

The only time I broke this rule was with the Carbage store since I had neither Goblin, nor the third 5* champed. Can't remember who that last one was because I never pulled that third character's cover. I went 3 for 43 in that store with no 5* BH and 3 4* BH. Fairly garbage pull rates overall.0 -

I have a few MBWs with only blue covers on them. I had a purple on my vine and using the up arrow filter showed me all those partial MBWs.
Also, if you have a cover on your vine for a champ, but it is in a color you have 5 of, that character won't show up in the filter. But they will show up if it's not in one of those colors. Ex: I assume everyone has 2 Storm at a 5/5/3. If you have a blue or green cover on your vine for your champ, the filter won't grab your 2 Storm as a "upgradeable" person, but if you have a yellow, it will.1 -
What they sadly still haven't fixed is when you have a max champed character and a dupe and then get a cover which the max champ hasn't got 5 of. Instead of making it a saved cover for the dupe, it acts if you want to rearrange the covers for your max champ (which you can do for free). Why don't they remove the option to apply covers when max champed?20

Thanks bluewolf. It's funny that you mentioned Storm because I have a blue and yellow Storm cover on the vine but it shows only my favourited character that can be upgraded. Storm is max champed.
That problem due to Saved Cover has been around since its birth. I think they need to tweak the logic for applying cover, but it doesn't seems straightforward even though it should be straightforward.

(I don't expect vast amounts of shards - I expect them to be gently sprinkled over every toon in your roster as they are featured in events - my personal prediction)
I agree that Support Circuit was discontinued because of many complaints about it at the time, but I contrast that to the numerous requests now for it to return. I know that I was disappointed to see it go, I liked the change of play, and at least the chance at better quality supports.
Overall, I'm disappointed and frustrated that there is so much negativity in this and the several other threads. It's fine for us to express our opinions, but I'm not finding it helpful to see the same thing over and over.
MPQ has changed. Now it uses shards. Please can we be a bit patient as the rest of this is rolled out, and we see how shards get integrated into other parts of the game?
PS yes I certainly do acknowledge that having some more official communication on this would have helped, as it would have helped to get shards into the reward structures immediately, so we can talk about it as it will end up, not in the current limbo state. I remain hopeful3 -

Linked to the "Will you buy shards" thread my feedback on the store is that I honestly forget it exists. One QoL thing that would help would be a pop-up that alerts me when my favourited shards are in the store to buy. I have no idea how realistic that would be to implement but it would be helpful as I certainly can't check the store every few hours for refreshes and when I have time to play the game I play the game and forget about the store.

Supports had potential, yet they walked away from them.
Support Circuit has potential, yet they walked away from it.
Alliance Rush events had potential, yet they walked away from it.
5* Feeders had HUGE potential, yet they walked away from it.
Updating feeders in 3/4* tiers, yet they walk away from it.
Rebalancing broken characters OR buffing older ones, yet they they walked away from it.
Boss Rush had potential, yet they walk away from it.
Gauntlet was a fan favorite, yet they walk away from it.
Bonus Hero’s was a huge release when they brought it out, now they change it to shards in part to make money on it.
Costumes to be “earnable”, but they walked away from it.
Costumes in VIP, yet they walked away form it.
Updating Lighting Rounds from 3+ years ago, yet they walk away from it.
Saakar Lighting Round event got a huge response, yet they walk away from it.
Making the Anniversary and huge and special event, yet they walk away from it.
Please explain to me why I should put blind trust into the Dev team when they in no way layout a full game plan for where they are going to introduce shards into the game? This isn’t negative, this is the truth and their history, not ours.
