  • Spider-Man doesn't need any adjustments, he's just fine. He's a 3* character who can only damage through matching and doesn't have a lot of health. What he can do is bind you up with his webs and evade some trouble with his spider-sense (though his purple power is just a tacked-on throw away no one really cares about). For (a maxed-out) Spider-Man to stun-lock a whole team for more than two rounds, and heal his own team, requires quite a bit of matching to set up. If you're on offense, a good 2* offensive character can take the defending Spidey out before this happens, if the AI is even smart enough to attempt it. If you're on defense... who cares? There is no defense, so why worry about attacking Spider-Men at all?

If you have Spider-Man, enjoy him. If you're fighting against him, target him. He's by no means over-powered any more than many others, and he doesn't single-handedly make or break a team.

Is his stun cheap (on AP) and easy? Yeah. But he's a 3* character who also happens to be the face of Marvel Comics. He's Spider-Man, dammit, the guy who single-handedly defeated a herald of Galactus. He's the bomb, and his MPQ presense should reflect that.

    This
He's a 3*** hero so he's fine, if someone doesn't like spiderman then don't use him.
If you complain about how many people use him then you can say the same about OBW , ENOUGH OF NERFING CHARACTERS!!!!!!!
  • I see way more OBW on every pvp event than spiderman and magneto's combined.
  • I love using my spidey, specially against buffed **** like that freaking lvl230 jugs that one shot kills me with only 6 reds

    What have we done?

3 fights into the Heroic and I miss him soooo much.
  • Actually I think there's a very good reason not to level Spider Man, even if you have him at max covers.

The main reason you have him is for the stun, which doesn't scale with level. The secondary reason you have him is for the heal, which does scale with level, but if you have 5 blue you can just spam out a couple more web tiles, and the amount you're healing per web tile becomes irrelevant unless you have a near-dead max-level Hulk or something that has truly massive health loss.

Since ISO is a limited resource, personally I'd rather spend it elsewhere as long as your spidey can take a cascade or two without dying. And this has the nice side benefit of keeping Patch's icon on yellow for improved Best There Is damage, for people that like to play Patch/Spider Man.
  • The amount Spiderman heals for is massively overkill for almost every concieveable case. Unless you're trying to fill the HP on Hulk or a boosted lazy Thor, there's just no way you'll need the bigger heals for higher level. While having higher level makes it slightly harder for your opponent to kill Spiderman, he's easy to keep alive on offense (especially if he's lower in level to avoid matches) and any Spiderman vs Spiderman is almost always auto-lose for the defender and you'll definitely be seeing a lot of Spidermans at the high end. You probably want enough HP so that he doesn't die to some of the commonly seen abilities that hits everyone, so right now you'd have to have more than about 3200 HP due to Black Panther who is becoming more common now.
  • Sure. I recently overleveled him not paying attention, pushing to 90 without a real need -- just got ISO on hand at the time and played the her MR. So now he's above patch on yellow for 3 pts, and my patch is capped on 115 for ages. Too bad.

For the record he was perfectly okay on lvl75.

    No u.

Level 1 mBW with 1 purple cover and 4 blue covers, suddenly super viable again.

Why 4 blue? That's all you had handy or does the cost go up for 5?

The 5th blue for mBW also stuns the whole enemy team, nifty.
But that's all I got so far when I started keeping her covers a while ago. I keep trashing 5th purple cover for my Venom though, no way I'm gonna ruin my ISO investment in him (7 levels! Hard work was put there!).
  • i freaking hate using spiderman and ive had his blue 5 five more months now, he bores the bejeesus out of me, but if i dont use him i dont really get to compete so yay!!!....

I love playing my spider man, I enjoy using him in my matches. And I will be very sad when the nerfs happen, I will adjust accordingly but I will not be happy to see him significantly changed.
  • Not too bad for PVE, but in PVP, stun lock is not good if you're in lead. Really, 35 min for a fight is a long time.
  • I think Spidey's sweat spot is level 101, no more, no less. That way he can be covered by patch in yellow.
  • Personally, I like Spidey in the 90-100 range. Puts him above 4000 hps, so he's durable enough to at least take a few hits.

Does Spidey need yellow for his blue to stun 4 turns etc? I haven't used Spidey before but I have a 0/3/3 build right now. Am thinking of spending HP to make it 0/5/3 or 0/5/5 for the Simulator PVE this weekend.

No, stun duration is determined by the number of web tiles on the board and one is created every time you cast his blue power. Yellow just heals (based on the number of web tiles).

    thanks for the reply! icon_e_smile.gif
  • His yellow removes the web tiles as well, so if you don't have his yellow at least you won't accidentally activate it and remove all the web tiles. I've done that once before and it's annoying as hell when you already have enough blue to stunlock the opposition for 5 turns each (especially if you're facing a 230 Jugs and he has enough red AP for a Headbutt).

really sucks when you were expecting Thunder Strike and instead all your webs disappear icon_redface.gif
