New Event - Support Circuit Updated (1/28/19)

I'll likely play this all of the way through once and then only play to the first progression token thereafter — assuming I'm available to play when this is being run. I'm glad that they're slowly giving us more ways to earn supports (or support tokens, anyway), but grinding is the worst part of MPQ and we didn't need more of it. As others have stated, this should have just been another DDQ-type event, or maybe even just an additional node in DDQ.
EDIT: Oh wait, the progression rewards don't even offer support tokens, just vault tokens that might get you support tokens? Yeah, ok, I won't be bothering with this. I was barely interested in this when I thought it offered a direct line to supports, but tucking them behind even more RNG makes this pointless.6 -
“Playing and having fun is then replaced by obligation and responsibility. I don't know about everyone else, but I play MPQ to avoid my obligations and responsibilities.”
A long haul game like MPQ is fun because of the progress you make. You get better and better and it’s fun. In MPQ to progress you either spend big or grind. There’s no other way. So unless you spend, MPQ becomes an obligation and responsibility. And you’re right, that isn’t fun.
I quit my alliance this week and shifted to DDQ only. The next step will be quitting altogether. The new support emphasis was the final straw. They’re doubling down on supports being the next fun thing, but as a 5* player they won’t be. The devs have gotten all they’re gonna get out of 5* star players, so nothing new is coming for us. They’re focusing on getting newer players, where there’s a rich array of 4* to aim at. This is no game for long term players.4 -
What are the rewards for the nine standard pins? Are they the same as the six main track pins and the first three essential pins in normal pve or does the event have its own unique set? I would hope that normal pve’s standard tokens are replaced with basic support tokens at least.

This is just another pve. Stop trying to call it something else. You can change the rewards or the details but it’s the same as always - be fastest to clear, wait 23 hours, then be fastest grind.
and I’m no genius, but I suspect leaderboards will be filled with same names who don’t need the supports to begin with to be fast at pve.0 -
Looking over the placement, it seems the difference between finishing 51st and 200th is minimal.
T3 would be nice, but unrealistic. T50 would be good for another token, but not worth much extra effort.
Since I can probably sleepwalk my way to t200, that and full progression are all I will be playing for.
If I happen to land any higher, that's just a bonus.6 -

But really, it would be awesome if they did. (I think i might be willing to do something drastic, like buy an Asgard treasure or whatever to show my happiness, if they did.)1 -

Support Circuit
Hi Everyone,
For those of you that have been staying updated on changes to Supports, you’re likely already aware of the upcoming new event: Support Circuit. For those of you that aren’t, please take a look at the Updates to Earning Supports article HERE
We’re taking a deeper dive into this event in this post, so check out the full event details below!
Sounds great. And it is also a new way to gain more regular resources (iso,CP,hp,tokens) for players that want to play even (!!!!) more.
BUT... Supports are limited to pve... And so, their interest will be very limited. Hope this changes one day0 -
Support event starts tomorrow. It happens to be Deadpool vs MPQ PvE today. Could it be possible that every Sunday PvE will start with a two day-sub until there's a one week Support event break?
I remember players wanting more PvEs to play if Deadpool vs MPQ is being run becauses they lose out on resources.0 -

I forgot about that. We'll shall see what the timeslices are in less than 24 hours away.0

I’m pretty sure they can’t really make it work that every Monday is the second part of a 48 hr sub. In game saved tokens have revealed Namor’s release is a 4 day event, meaning next week Monday will see a 3 sub event starting. Unless they do something really unusual and start a 4 or 7 day to run past a week from Thursday.1

Honestly if this event is as-well as an existing PvE, meaning I need to do a full clear of a PvE and the supports events, I'm going to skip the new event. This really should have been a week-long, progression only event with no placement. They purposefully ditched the two-sub-events-per-event thing years ago because people were burning out hard.9
-
I was thinking of skipping competing in Deadpool vs MPQ anyway, because it's a horrible event, which frees up time to take a proper look at this new thing.
I have a bad feeling about this.
:edit: I might be blind, but I see no mention of slices here, just brackets. Anyone have better eyesight? Or insight?

How many times?
Missions are repeatable, and there are "time slices." Regular Missions have 6 Mission rewards each, just like a regular Story event, but you only need 4 clears of each to reach max progression rewards.Dlanning said:So are there time slices like regular pve? Will this basicaly play like a one day pve event? 4 clears and grind at the finish?
The usual brilliant, in advance communication we've come to expect.3 -
If it only runs once per week, why not keep it running for the whole week? So you can complete it at your own leasure...1

Data patch will be about 3 hours after the start of S1.0 -
I hope the times are the same so the same people in the same slices are not winning everything.

Are we supposed to keep an eye on thegame all day today? A preview of some sorts would be welcome by now... Or at least a starting time?Tony_Foot said:I hope the times are the same so the same people in the same slices are not winning everything.2
