New Event - Support Circuit Updated (1/28/19)

Hmm. 13,000 points in 24 hours + 3 “challenging” large pin battles, that sounds just as grindy as normal PvE. That is on top of PvE. And PvP. And DDQ. The rewards don’t look particularly great and the vault looks mostly impenetrable. I don’t know where exactly I will find the time to do this on a Monday however I will of course give it a try. At SCL4. 40hp and 2CP ain’t worth another hour of my time for SCL8, especially as I have a decent shot at getting something similar from bonus rewards from Mr. Stark for playing generally. If it comes down to it being a time crunch though, I can easily see that this will be the one that falls by the wayside…

Dragon_Nexus said:And you need to clear each node 4 times each again.I have to wonder why. Why not a simple one-hit-and-done? This will seriously drag the event out. Why even have it placement orientated at all? Just have a simple progression system like a Support style DDQ? Have it open all week, allow everyone time to hit the nodes in case they weren't able to log in that day, and then have done with it.0

I’m a supports lover. Stated my love for them many times on discord and here. I should wait until Monday and try it but it’s more grinding by the looks of it. So I think they have lost my supports interest.
As much as I like this game I’m pretty much at the point where I can’t think I have ever played a game where the people who make it are so out of touch with the game, time required for grinding and how the user base feel.
If this extra grinding came by way of a day off normal pve or less normal pve clears in future then fine but I’m already doing 6 clears per day and you want more?
I will give it a try Monday but if it’s too much I will join the get lost supports team and vote by not playing this new feature. That’s the only way for me to register my apathy with this.7 -

Also even if I do try it a few times I won't even both opening the tokens and they'll add to the 7 pending I don't plan on opening. Any RISO will add to my stockpile until I can build my own red fortress of solitude with them.Tony_Foot said:So I think they have lost my supports interest.

The more and more I think about it the more and more I feel like I wont even bother attempting it when it goes live. In 24 hours, I'll be on this game for at least an hour doing the first 4 clears and the final 3 in PVE. Then I play DDQ for about 20 minutes in that time period. Then I'll tend to play a good 40 minutes or so on PVP to get to a total I sit on overnight. I play a good 2 hours a day on this game.
I think there comes a point where stuff starts to get sacrificed when you are spending 2 hours, everyday, on a game. I dont want to give another hour to it just to play the Supports Circuit. I may decide to play for progression but I'm putting my foot down and not playing for placement. Its just becoming too much now.13 -
I am absolutely stunned, but really shouldn't be, at the gulf between those who play this game and those who develop the game.
Players : We would like an easier way to acquire, level and use supports.
Devs : OK. Let us think.
Devs (6 Months Later) : Here's a 24 hour grindy thing that requires placement and maybe you will get a support. Or maybe not. It all depends.

On the plus side though... (please fill in the plus side, I have nothing).

When this was first teased, I had hopes that this was going to be similar to a Growth Industry event where you could just play at your own pace, grab some average rewards and call it a day.
But this? This is just more of the same, tedious grind13 -
Seriously, they could have just rejiggered the Gauntlet. Change the enemies, add SCL, and just have it run the whole week. No placement.

When this game was launched there wasn't enough to do. "Marvel Puzzle Quest is so fun!" we said. "But there's nothing to do except repeat the Prologue nodes over and over for 20 ISO!" Now we complain that the game is a 'grind' and there's too much to do. That it takes up too much of our time.
Let me say a few things about that:- You don't have to place 1st to progress
- You don't have to clear every single node in every possible event to progress
- You don't have to clear events/subs with absolute optimal timing to progress
- You can take a whole event off (gasp!) and the world won't end
- You don't need every single support at rank 5 level 250 right now this minute gimme gimme gimme
Here's an idea: before we tear the developers a new one before this new game mode has ever even run, let's wait to try it out. After we've played around with it and see how everything pans out, then we can go internet-mental and start screaming: FAIL! GRIND! THIS SUCKS!

I have no interest left to grind another event.....if you want to please your players, make the event PROGRESSION REWARDS ONLY, get rid of placement.2

Every criticism was valid, from win based only PVP with CP removed from progression, to the broken Gambit design and his nerf-buff.
There's no need for a wait and see approach anymore, the last 5 years have made that very clear.11 -

@Brigby
Will it be possible, for this first Select 16 or future ones, to find out the Selected Supports before the vault opens?
Some players will be more interested than others in certain Supports, and would plan accordingly in terms of how to play the event depending on the actual rewards at stake.0 -
MoonKnight said:First thing, I really like the fact this is an option, and I like that there are real rewards in this thing, especially the CP. I appreciate the effort to make this an option.
In regards to the supports side, if a player in SCL7 or higher gets top 100 placement and gets all three large pins, they get 5 tokens to a 240 token vault. That equates to around a 2% chance of getting a real support token in the vault each week. That’s a rather disappointing solution to the problem IMO. The player base gets an improvement, but a very slight one and that stinks.
The vault has 30 Supports (either a named rarity support or a token that gives you a random one). If you get all five of the vault tokens in the first week, that is a 49% chance to pull at least one support just from those pulls.2 -

And your suggested solution for those of us that are not happy is to not play this knew type of event, thus we dont get to participate in new content with the added bonus of also still not getting more supports?1 -
My above comment aside, it really should have a support token in the progression.3

I do think players here feel as though if they don't get 100% of every resource placement/progression prize in every event available that they are missing out and get upset about it. Playing and having fun is then replaced by obligation and responsibility. I don't know about everyone else, but I play MPQ to avoid my obligations and responsibilities.4 -
Love the idea of new content but I will be passing on it. I don't know if the devs understand that many players can't afford the time to allocate to a whole new competitive event as this is a definite negative quality of life addition. It also doesn't seem to do a great job of really providing more supports to players unless you are a top placement player. If the vault was say 50 tokens instead of 240, then I would be interested. It should have been like the Shield events, one completion and done and progression only rewards....not a new PvE that runs concurrently with oh yeah....the original PvE.1
