Hmm. 13,000 points in 24 hours + 3 “challenging” large pin battles, that sounds just as grindy as normal PvE. That is on top of PvE. And PvP. And DDQ.  The rewards don’t look particularly great and the vault looks mostly impenetrable. I don’t know where exactly I will find the time to do this on a Monday however I will of course give it a try. At SCL4. 40hp and 2CP ain’t worth another hour of my time for SCL8, especially as I have a decent shot at getting something similar from bonus rewards from Mr. Stark for playing generally. If it comes down to it being a time crunch though, I can easily see that this will be the one that falls by the wayside…

And you need to clear each node 4 times each again.
I have to wonder why. Why not a simple one-hit-and-done? This will seriously drag the event out. Why even have it placement orientated at all? Just have a simple progression system like a Support style DDQ? Have it open all week, allow everyone time to hit the nodes in case they weren't able to log in that day, and then have done with it.
100% agree with this. Please devs, review some of this points, because it seemed at first a new event with a good potential, but not the way it was presented now.

I have no interest left to grind another event.....if you want to please your players, make the event PROGRESSION REWARDS ONLY, get rid of placement.  :#

    @Brigby
Will it be possible, for this first Select 16 or future ones, to find out the Selected Supports before the vault opens?

Some players will be more interested than others in certain Supports, and would plan accordingly in terms of how to play the event depending on the actual rewards at stake.

First thing, I really like the fact this is an option, and I like that there are real rewards in this thing, especially the CP. I appreciate the effort to make this an option.

In regards to the supports side, if a player in SCL7 or higher gets top 100 placement and gets all three large pins, they get 5 tokens to a 240 token vault. That equates to around a 2% chance of getting a real support token in the vault each week. That’s a rather disappointing solution to the problem IMO. The player base gets an improvement, but a very slight one and that stinks.
I don't know how you are coming to 2%.

The vault has 30 Supports (either a named rarity support or a token that gives you a random one). If you get all five of the vault tokens in the first week, that is a 49% chance to pull at least one support just from those pulls.

When this game was launched there wasn't enough to do. "Marvel Puzzle Quest is so fun!" we said. "But there's nothing to do except repeat the Prologue nodes over and over for 20 ISO!" Now we complain that the game is a 'grind' and there's too much to do. That it takes up too much of our time.

Let me say a few things about that:
    • You don't have to place 1st to progress
    • You don't have to clear every single node in every possible event to progress
    • You don't have to clear events/subs with absolute optimal timing to progress
    • You can take a whole event off (gasp!) and the world won't end
    • You don't need every single support at rank 5 level 250 right now this minute gimme gimme gimme
We have been whining and griping about the lack of support availability for 9 months. Here is our answer. As Brigby has stated it is not the final answer, it is the start of our answer. Do you want more support tokens? Here is an event where you can get some. Don't want to grind out optimal clears? Hey, no problem, there's tokens in progression that you can get. The point is, we now have a path to more support tokens if we want them. Don't care about supports? Already have enough supports to cover the 3 characters you use in PvE? Great! You don't have to 'grind' this event out every week.

Here's an idea: before we tear the developers a new one before this new game mode has ever even run, let's wait to try it out. After we've played around with it and see how everything pans out, then we can go internet-mental and start screaming: FAIL! GRIND! THIS SUCKS!

So, in response to a lot of us saying we cannot easily obtain the rest of the supports being created, instead of just adding them to the existing token pool (something they already do every season with 4* and 5* to LT), you are saying their ideal solution would be to create all new content (something else we are always clamoring for, tbf), that makes supports for the most part still just as hard to get?

And your suggested solution for those of us that are not happy is to not play this knew type of event, thus we dont get to participate in new content with the added bonus of also still not getting more supports?

My above comment aside, it really should have a support token in the progression.

Um, no? I didn't say any of those things. I said play if you want, don't if you don't, and let's maybe see how this goes and if it generates more supports before we decide its an utter failure.

I do think players here feel as though if they don't get 100% of every resource placement/progression prize in every event available that they are missing out and get upset about it. Playing and having fun is then replaced by obligation and responsibility. I don't know about everyone else, but I play MPQ to avoid my obligations and responsibilities.

Love the idea of new content but I will be passing on it.  I don't know if the devs understand that many players can't afford the time to allocate to a whole new competitive event as this is a definite negative quality of life addition.  It also doesn't seem to do a great job of really providing more supports to players unless you are a top placement player.  If the vault was say 50 tokens instead of 240, then I would be interested.  It should have been like the Shield events, one completion and done and progression only rewards....not a new PvE that runs concurrently with oh yeah....the original PvE.
