    5* Star-Lord
    4* Gamora
    4* Rocket and Groot

These characters are honestly just fun to use together and make a great theme team.

They help each other out and are fairly complimentary, and they can totally step on each others toes and screw things up depending on which powers you use.

It also never hurts to start with a batch of strikes and hit with that 5* match damage.

C4rol, Coulson, Riri. C4rol and Coulson are just ludicrously good together. 'Nuff said there. I bring Riri as the third because I don't like having a team without some sort of non-countdown damage source. She also fills in the red/green gap in actives, provides another option besides AP steal for blue, and all three of her powers have secondary effects that can be very useful.

Go for yellow and blue first. Get 6 blue and go for Coulson's yellow. Cast Carol's black and let it resolve. Always keep 6 blue. Use Coulson's purple to do damage and scoop up needed yellow, purple and black. Sit back and watch it get crazy.

    3* Iron Man 4/5/4
    3* Wolverine 5/4/4
    4* Peggy Carter 5/3/5

Iron Man's battery (Yellow) charges Wolverine's Berserker Rage (Green) and Peggy's Ultimate Soldier (Red) / Do As Peggy Says (Blue). Set the two (2) hardest / toughset opponents to the rear, then fire Peggy's blue. This stuns the opponents, followed by Wolverine's green which sets up strike tiles. With the strike tiles active, fire Peggy's' red Ultimate Soldier for serious damage. Continue working on opponents, then as Peggy's (3) countdown tiles expire, it destroys those tough opponents and leaves cleanup detail for what is left. In event that you cannot get Yellow for the battery, focus on Peggy's blue for stun or red activated for good chunk of damage.

    4* Spider-Gwen 3/5/5
    4* Miles Morales 5/5/3
    3* Spider-Man 3/5/5

It may not have full rainbow coverage but there's something about playing as 3 Spider characters all of which from alternate universes, their synergy is ridiculous, all 3 create web tiles at relatively low cost. Gwen can fortify them, when matched away the team gets burst health and generates AP via Miles. The more webs that are down the stronger the Protect tiles and longer stun from Spider-Man and the cheaper Gwen's nuke of a red costs. And if all else fails you always have Miles to Surprise! the enemy with what has ridiculous potential for damage depending on your webs. Just all round a lot of fun to play, my only issue is no black or green coverage. The only thing I can think that would make this team more fun would be a 4* Superior Spider-Man or switching out 3* Spider-Man for the latest 5* Spider-man if you have the available covers.

I enjoy this for several reasons:

    I) people underestimate Starlord, a lot, which is great
II) there's really nice synergy between them, which I like as a fan of GotG
III) and I really like using the new versions of Gamora and Rocket especially - their skills are both innovative compared to previous characters, and feel 'in character' for their 'film' representations

    4* Vulture
    3* Iron man
    4* Riri Williams

The AP generation speaks for itself. Just collect black and yellow then use Riris powers to unleash your wrath on the opponents.

Very fun and effective team that i use very often in PVE when the enemy team doesnt have a goon (non-tile mover).

Peggy Carter (Captain America) – 5-3-5

Moon Knight (Marc Spector) – 5-3-5

    Agent Coulson (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) – 5-5-3

    • Full rainbow actives, even utilizing Team-ups with Coulson’s passive.
    • 5 passives.
    • Double stun with punch.
    • Versatile – 4 nukes.
    • Peggy’s passive slows opponent attacks.
    • Coulson’s passives and Best Laid Plans feed your attack.
    • Lots of countdowns to take advantage of Coulson’s passives.
    • Cheap powers, especially with Coulson feeding them.
    • Moon Knight and Coulson’s passives do extra damage nearly every turn.
    • Moon Knight’s heal absorbs damage and makes the team viable for multiple matches.

I'm excited to try Hawkeye, Thanos, Green Goblin. Great color coverage, double protection and speedup for the countdowns, and one hit with cheap red/black 1-2 punch should be enough to down someone. Meanwhile both need to be dealt with first giving Thanos time to fire up his green.

    4* Rocket
    4* Medusa
    3* Dr Strange

Not always great for named enemies, sure, but this combination cuts through goons at crazy rates.  Medusa's and Rocket's tiles almost immediately start chipping away at enemies, and once enemies start generating countdown tiles Dr. Strange can go to town.

I have to go back to my 3* days for my team. This was my sim team and overall favorite team that I used for many many seasons.

    3* Wolverine 5/3/5
    Loki 5/3/5
    3* Magneto 3/5/5

it was just fun to cast Patch's green followed by Loki's black and annihilate the opponent then to take care of the remaining character/s with Magnetos blue power. Ahh, fun times!

    5* Daredevil.
    4* Luke Cage.
    4* Iron Fist.

The Defenders team! With the addition of the 5 star version of Daredevil I can finally build this dream team. First we have the “Man Without Fear”, with the perfect balance of support and offense with his Fighting Spirit and Hand-to-Hand powers. Then Luke Cage can protect the team or take down that “Buncha of Fiddle-Faddle”. Last, Iron Fist with his Chi Focus to raise team damage or finishing the enemy with the “Like unto Iron” power. This team has all the right tools to lead me to the victory.

EDIT: Fixed the length of text.

    Ghost Rider 5/3/5
    Carnage 5/5/3
    Medusa 4/5/4

Ghost Rider's green gets reduced in cost down to 6 AP in just a couple of turns thanks to Carnage.  Carnage also creates enemy attack tiles, and when matched, Medusa may give you some green AP for Ghost Rider.

If you get 10+ red, you can fire Carnage's red.  After a while, you can use 10 black AP for Ghost Rider's Penance Stare.  Medusa's Hair Meddle can get rid of enemy attacks, and the team heals when friendly attack tiles are matched.

There is one combination of characters that soars above all others for me. It is fast as lightning, and fun as flapjacks. I feel so lucky to have all three characters champed so I can get my jollies whenever I want.

5 star Thanos, The Mad Titan
4 star Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers
4 star Red Hulk, Thunderbolt Ross

    500 character description:

Thanos stands alone as my favorite character in the game, for so many reasons. His Come and Get Me golden glove beatdown is blistering and brutal but brittle and quite pricey. Red Hulk floods green AP and Carol kills the countdown. I love to stockpile purple green yellow. That allows my titanic team to trash an entire opposing outfit with 21,000 points of team damage followed by 14,000 more Court Death to any remaining targets in less than five turns consistently!

One yellow match, one green match, one purple match. Red Hulk feeds green, Thanos drops the glove, Carol pops the cork.  Champagne Jam.

    5* Hawkeye 5/5/3
    3* Loki x/x/5
    4* Coulson 4/5/4

The powerful pair Hawkeye+Coulson is well known and has been mentioned everywhere. The usage of Loki is actually very effective and fun. When you successfully bait match-4 from opponents, a single match-4 will grant you maximum 12 blue/ 8 red plus the maximum 8 ap steal back from opponents. These ap can quickly speed up the chain reactions and let you reach out-of-arrow faster. I use this team in sim last season in fighting opponents' 3 5* team and I sometimes challenge myself by replacing coulson by 1* character.

My favorite team is one that is a lot of fun for me.
    Antman(5/3/5)/Carol(5/5/3)/Peggy(5/3/5).

Peggy and Carol make this team very defensive. Peggy disrupts lower cost abilities while Carol shuts down enemies matching their strongest color. Antmans yellow once it gets going is a nuisance and Carol will buff the strike tiles to obscene levels if left unmatched. Add Peggy's 3 turn stun that will deal great amounts of damage while allowing Carol to buff more of Antman's strike tiles.

Sprinkle in some pym particles, executive decision Peggy's blue and your have yourself a dangerous team.

    'Death by 1,000 Cuts'

    5* Hawkeye
    Agent Coulson
    Drax the Destroyer

Every time a countdown tile goes off you do a little bit of damage and gain a little bit of AP. It doesn't seem very impressive at first, but it's only a matter of time until things start snowballing.

I like playing with underdogs and Drax is a character who very much fits the bill. I don't see many rosters utilizing him which is a shame because I feel like his rework has been one of the best.

'Secret Weapon' is a passive damage ability that originated as a bug. Luckily the devs recognized it had the potential to be an interesting mechanic and re-introduced it into the game. It's a lot of fun filling up the board with as many countdown tiles as possible and slowly chipping away at your opponents health. Add a few strike tiles and all of a sudden you are cooking with gas.

Drax' red ability 'Slice and Dice' does extra damage to characters with full health for a modest 9ap, which is a great counter to so many Medusa led teams that are constantly healing. Not to mention his black ability, 'The Destroyer', has the ability to remove special tiles while creating board shake.

I've won my fair share of defensive matches in the simulator with this team even though my 5* Hawkeye isn't even max covered or levelled up. To me the most satisfying part of MPQ is coming up with interesting combinations of characters and creating sleeper teams.

Obviously this is how the revised Gauntlet gets populated.

Well played, D3, knowing the forumice can't help themselves.

    4* Ghost Rider
    Medusa
    5* Hawkeye

Ghosty and the Hair make Attack tiles all day long! Even undercovered, Clint can fortify the others' countdown tiles and produce red and blue constantly because countdowns are always going off, especially Ghosty's red: every turn! Top this off with Ghosty's black nuke, Clint's everything for cheap blue, and Medusa's beautiful defense.  With this team, your opponent is punished just for showing up!

At least it will be better than fighting moonstone/daken/bullseye over and over again.
