It's very weird. I generally do matches for 60+ points. So that's around 20 matches to get to 25 cp total. Now, I'll need twice as many wins to get to NOT 25 cp? In my mmr, generally hitting 1200+ points barely even gets you to top 100. So squeezing that down to top 10 takes it away from most of us.
I would like this if the wins bonus was on top of the existing progression prizes. But I don't think it's an improvement as a replacement. My PVP matches are all championed 5*s. They take forever and are dreadful. I'm not looking forward to doing twice as many for even less prizes.7 -

While I'm not opposed to the idea of progression rewards being based on total wins rather than points (actually it was an idea some players had come up previously), but the requirement is way too **** high. Since the change to PvE progression requirement, this game has become way more grindy as it is. This is going to make it even worse. This is the kind of changes that will cause people to burn out and drop the game.6 -

Our feedback is mostly ignored for the most part as it as always been.

This is almost too good to be true. I was just dreaming on the toilet this morning, as my leg was going numb from sitting there so long on a 1300 pt climb in PVP, that it would be really great if D3 came out with another OML-esque nerf, but this time they were on a crystal meth/PCP cocktail, and that the change would be sufficiently disruptive to force me off this game.
On a related note, pretty sure I'll be able to solve our climate change issues within 3 years with all the time for researching and inventing this will free up. So I guess a big ol' thanks to the developers for caring so much about the future of our species.2 -
I'm pretty sure that in nearly 3 years of playing this game at a reasonably "high level" I've never come close to winning 40 matches in a PvP event. I wouldn't play 40 matches even if the reward at the end was that 15 CP, now my usual ~25-30 matches (which used to be enough to get 1200 in a BAD event) isn't even close to good enough to getting a **** 4* cover that matters precisely **** to my roster? Now it gets me a 3* cover which means even less than ****?
What's the lesson here? Don't play smarter, just sink more and more **** hours into this game? Are the PvP-only players not playing enough? Do they need to match the amount of time PvE players put in? What about those of us who play both? Don't we play enough of this **** game already? If you want to even out the amount of time the different players put into the game, **** make the rewards better, don't just increase the play time without increasing the rewards.8 -
40 wins...waaayyy tooo steep. I, however, appreciate the effort to improve PvP!7

When I try to play a pvp event right from the start, I can push to 400 and then I'm at the top and I cant really gain any points. Then I wait a whole day and push to 800 only to have to wait again to push higher bc the points dry up. I never play for placement I play for progression. So now right from the start I can rail off as many wins as I want, lose a ton while I sleep and win a ton the next day and have the 4 star in no time. Don't see a tremendous problem here as a player who doesn't care about placement.
I just think it will be a lot better then going into a game at 890, selecting a 30 point match, finishing the game losing 150 points in the process and having to constantly battle back and forth for 900.11 -
I guess after 1.25 years playing, I'm still not doing PvP right. I have no idea how people are playing matches worth only 45 points or more. Usually once I get past 575 or so, they're all around 30 points, no matter how much I skip.
I have no idea how many matches I play to get to 900 right now. It probably is less than 40, but probably not by much. Although, this is the first season I'm consistently hitting that mark, so I don't have a lot of experience to base this off of.
My current strategy is to climb in one shot at an off-peak time so as to reduce the need to shield multiple times. If it switches to a flat 40 wins, I'll probably switch to just playing a little here and there over the course of the event.
One thing I'm definitely considering a positive though is that I believe the 4* cover was set to be X-23's red. I hope that's still the case, because my 5/1/4 desperately needs it. (EDIT: Nevermind, she's placement in DC, her red should be progression in the second off-season event, where the current PvP system will be reinstated.)
Overall, I'm tentatively excited. I can't count the number of times I've walked away saying PvP is a wasteland of hopes and dreams because no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get to 900. In those cases, I probably easily played 40 matches total.13 -
Dear Brigby
Sometimes in my overcrowded PvP brackets, 2k just about keeps me in t25. I understand that this isn't good enough and I should aim to hit 3k+ to hit t10, but I feel this is a little unfair and may affect my QoL.
Please advise, yours faithfully.3 -
It's all been said before in the thread, but the only way this is good is if MMR is busted wide open and 5* rosters can pick off everyone else easily. Otherwise, 40 matches? This is bad, and the devs should feel bad :zoidberg:2

It looks like the same 5 people I keep seeing in my queue are going to be somewhat unhappy with the double-quadruple-octuple-tapping that I'll have to do now for the 4* cover.2
