While everyone focuses on IW's (much needed) buff, I think Fury needs to be looked at also. When he was released it didn't seem like there was a plan on how to set a 4*s health. Now you have Elektra and Star-Lord, who feel more support like, who also have more health than Nick.
I think Fury should get bumped up to 13-14k health. That's likely not enough to upset the balance of XForce-Thor, but if you had to use an extra XForce or Surgical to get through him, he might get some play time again.0 -
I agree that Nick needs a buff or two to be truly competitive.
But with so characters with glaring needs for remake/buff, like IW and a relatively large hand full of 3 stars (Beast, She-hulk, Colossus, Gamora, Spiderman, Doc Oc, Ragnarok, GSBW and IM40), it's hard to picture D3 committing any resources to buffing and balancing a character that, despite his weaknesses, is still considered one of the top 5 to 10 characters in the game.
Being outclassed isn't the same as being underpowered. If he's underpowered, so is basically every other character except Xthor.0 -
Despite you guys singing the blues for poor Nick Fury, I will always skip a 270 Fury because there's no reason to fight him. There are plenty of GTs worth just as many points, and she can't hurt you. On the other hand, if Fury gets his demolition off while you're denying black and green to XF, the best case scenario is that it costs you a health pack. The more likely scenario is that it also drags out the fight long enough to ruin the hop you're in the middle of.0

I never skip fury. I'm way more scared of a 166 hood/loki than a 270 Fury0 -

In all the time GT has been part of the meta, I don't think I've been hit with a charged smite more than once. Because of how the AI plays, too much has to fall into place in the exact way. She can't get 10 reds before 9 blues, otherwise she'll use red first. And she'd need to match enough reds after casting blue to push her over 10. But if you've been playing properly, by the time she'd collecting all that AP, you'd have either blues or reds ready to go in between the turn where she uses her blue and red.0 -
I find that Fury can usually end up doing more damage than Thor but it'll rarely be enough to cause you to lose, and since team with Thor have a nearly guaranteed win on the retaliation it's still safer to attack Fury over Thor all else being equal. Even for shield hopping, having a retaliation on Thor is more dangerous since she needs very little time to hit you while your shield is down in any standard fodder featured + 2 event assuming she's with X Force.0

It doesn't even matter who takes the Power Surge most of the time because unless I'm exactly one match away from some move it doesn't bother me even if X Force is out of commission for 4 turns. If I already have enough for X Force's moves I'd just use them since they're almost all strictly beneficial used at any time, and if not I needed more time to collect AP anyway. Anyone else has a far less significant impact stunned compared to X Force. The AI simply tries to collect anything that is a strong color for them and it doesn't even care if it's a passive (e.g. purple for Spiderman and no one else has purple) and TU seems to be always considered a strong color so the chance of them getting red is pretty small. Still, you should just match the red away before she Power Surges in case the AI accidentally picked red for its random color to get. I think I got hit by a charged Smite 2 or 3 times and they're always because there was a red match on the board that I ignored, and the AI did Power Surge and picked up the 3 red charged tiles and then Smite next turn. That's clearly user error on my part.0 -

During shield hops, you're hitting people worth 30 to 45 points. Meaning the retaliation will be worth 5 to 20 points.
No one ever retaliates on shield hopping hits.0 -
I'm currently leveling Nick Fury.
I have him at level 221 now.
And so I'm starting to use him a little in PVP.
I have one major question:
With his demolition, do the bombs just overkill one person, or do they use as many bombs as necessary to kill the front person, then use the rest to kill the second person?
I've been playing with him for a week or so now, and I can't help but notice that sometimes demolition continues to the next person, and sometimes it doesn't.
Is there something I'm missing?0 -

And its my favorite bug of all time. Nothing is more satisfying than building up enough blue ap to cast Demo twice, waiting for a match 4 to be on the board and launching the attack and seeing the traps land on the match 4. The AI makes the match and the first enemy gets destroyed followed by the second right after. Fury is collecting dust now that 4thor is out but double Demo is still so satisfying.0 -

I don't mean hitting either during a shield hop because the chance of that guy around to retaliate is low and it's not like you have too much time to think about this stuff while shield hopping. I'm talking about in general if you beat a team while you're just going about your usual business so you owe a retaliation and you're not sure whatever happened to that guy later. At some later time you decided to a shield hop and you've an unknown number of retaliations that you owe, possibly to someone who is in your own bracket who might be looking for an opportunity to nail you. In this case, owing a retaliation to Fury is considerably safer than owing a retaliation to Thor because Thor can better capitalize this brief moment of vulnerability compared to Fury. No it's probably not going to matter 99% of the time anyway because your shields should've cleared most retaliation but if everything else is exactly equal, I might as well pick Fury who cannot capitalize on my shield openings as well as Thor, so that if I do happen to have someone waiting for me to unshield, it'd be much harder for him to get a quick win in with Fury instead of Thor. Since my shield should've cleared out most normal queued guys, it is not unreasonable to assume whatever retaliations you owe is the guys you should worry about and you get to worry less if you owe a retaliation to Fury than Thor.0 -

I think they fixed the bug where if you matched 2 of your traps it'd activated twice, but not the bug where if an enemy matched the two traps... or maybe it was the other way around. It's pretty awesome when it works.0 -

Unless it happens to you - I still remember my entire team being downed by the traps and going "wait what just happened??!"0 -
Pst. The bug is not fixed for players still. Use it wisely. I recommend employing MMN to ensure the overwhelming quality of your setup.0

I decided to make a second team character with Nick in it... This team is for situations that you cannot use wolverine series or/ and thor series.. Assuming if both cases, who are the best partners for him? is Devil Dino/ Nick/ Hood viable? Active in all colors...0
