Seriously guys, grey text on white background? This gets frustrating to read very quickly!

[EDIT] Not particularly relevent now. There's a Notificiations Preferences link when you click the Notifications drop down icon that lets you choose what you're notified about.

    Okay, another thing.
The notifications button is useless. I refresh the page and see I have 40 notifications, and 38 of them are "X posted in Y topic".

It's completely meaningless seeing 38 random people have posted in the same topic I posted in. It would be much more useful to hear "X quoted you in Y topic" or "X replied to you in Y topic", because I can see someone else posted in a topic from the forum itself. As a result, you just get a ton of notifications that provide you with useless information and if there *is* any useful information in there, it's buried under the useless stuff.

@Dragon_Nexus- you can choose to turn some notifications off. I have turned off all the "X posted in thread Y" notifications and only kept notifications for mentions, PMs and new badges.

I came here today to post about today's Flaptain crash, but (a) didn't see a thread for it; (b) went looking for the Crash compendium thread, realized it's not stickied any more; (c) found the thread, which appears completely broken under these new forums.

    (old Crash thread: http://forums.d3go.com/discussion/comment/528907)

That was a useful resource for me, hopefully we'll see more forum kinks worked out over the next week.

Quebbste Ahh, brilliant! I did not notice the "Notifications preferences" link before.
Thanks very much, that's one complaint they can scrub off the list =)

Still can't get used to these forums... unreadable and unusable, was that the plan?

Make it as horrible as possible so people complain less?

Please go back to the old forums...   uggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'm not usually a complainer but this new forum is really hard on the eyes.

still cant find the "active topics" link, is that gone?

the activities link only shows who got new badges or changed their profile pic - please dont get me wrong, but i dont care.

i dont see any way to change what is shown in activities like how you cant change your notification preferences.

do you browse the forum one by one by subcategory?
am i the only one missing this single link?

Positives:  I'm a graphics, CSS, and HTML geek; I love seeing what you guys can do and this is no exception.  Also, the features can be nice (I haven't used them all quite yet, so I don't rightly know).  I kind of like this more --- home-y feeling, though, which kind of adds to a sense of community.  The more comprehensive profile adds to it. I DO like the greyscale because it's easier on the eyes in general (but I think there could be a little more contrast?).

Critique:  ... The layout sprawls and I need to do a lot more scrolling than I used to.  I feel like there's a lot more empty grey and blue space.  The default font size + lighter contrast between greys was difficult on my eyes.

Still Thinking About It:  ... Did we really need more 'voting' options?

What I Miss About the Old Layout:  Simplicity in terms of ease-of-access which included a more readable default font sizing and a tighter layout which made one-glance navigation a little easier.

Please Consider:  'Tightening' the layout.  Shrink down the empty spaces a bit and make the posted content more reflective of the WIP post that's being typed out. ... And will you bring back the custom MPQ emojis?  The character icons and flags? OMG, we still have them - yay!

Disclosure:  I'm on a Surface Pro 3 which has a small-ish screen which is HD.  This means that that default 'small' appearances of text is REALLY small and that when things 'sprawl', it sprawls more noticeably.  The example I give is the vertical scrolling.  I have to increase my zoom for text reasons, but I just also increased my sprawling.  I feel like I'm in a Catch-22 which isn't really comfortable for me in terms of readability.  I get that not everyone else is in my shoes, but that's the situation I'm in.

    THANK YOU!

Regarding that Draft Saved message that pops up...

Maybe it would be less obtrusive if it was a part of the posting window / block / area itself?

Like, in the dark grey strip where there's the links for the breadcrumb trail and then the Preview, Save Draft, and Post Comment, a notice could appear there?

Don't get me wrong; personally speaking, I like having my Drafts saved because I sometimes get distracted or need to edit before posting... but the notice has popped up... and then covered up part of my text area that I'm trying to type in.

If I scroll ALL the way down to the bottom of the screen where I can't scroll anymore, this doesn't happen... but I don't always need to scroll when I'm typing.

    @SunCrusher

So far all I've seen is a longish link to something like:  "https://us.v-cdn.net/6029755/uploads/custom_emojis/character_icons/icon_magneto.pn g"

Is there a simpler way to do character icons?

I have no idea how to do those, however while looking around for this I did see we did get a  smiley on the new forums, which is an instant win of course .

Come on, D3 web guys. It shouldn't take miniscule feline days to change the CSS color attribute to something legible.

The double arrow on the page number navigation doesn't function as a double arrow, it functions as a single arrow and only moves you to the next page, not to the last page as a double arrow should.

So here's a new "feature"(?) of the new forum... if you link your profile to a Twitter account, it actually changes your forum name to be whatever your Twitter handle is.  So I used to be _Daywalker_ on the forums and now I'm MPQ_Daywalker.  You can't edit your forum name before or afterward, but the linking process changes your name.

So word of caution to anyone looking to link their account to Twitter (and possibly Facebook): your forum name will change.

I also unlinked the Twitter account to see if the forum name changes back, and no it does not.  So I am MPQ_Daywalker from here on out, whether or not I have Twitter linked in my profile.

I guess I could theoretically create a new Twitter account with a different name, then link my forum account to that one, and change my name to something else.  Something to consider.

Is there any actual benefit to linking accounts?

Really not a fan of the way the new forum handles links to external websites. It is a waste of time to have a popup telling me I am leaving the forum. It's also breaking the links whenever they contain ampersand characters. For example, in the event threads, there are links to timers for each slice's end time. The URL should be
    http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20170412T14&p0=64&msg=Heavy+Metal+Slice+5

The URL is being changed to
    https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20170412T14&amp%3bp0=64&amp%3bmsg=Heavy+Metal+Slice+5
That is causing the timezone and custom message to revert to the website's default settings, which is a generic message and the user's local timezone. Since I am using the Central timezone end times, the countdowns will only be correct for others in the same timezone.

I am also noticing that I am sometimes unable to scroll down using the scroll wheel. Haven't been able to notice a pattern yet, but it is quite annoying.
