Upcoming Character Change to Wolverine (Old Man Logan)

I might also add that the compensation package as proposed is inadequate.
7 random 5* covers (+iso) in compensation for selling a 450 OML is not sufficient. Compensation should not be subject to RNG, and will result in a number of people potentially selling their OMLs and pulling useless covers or duplicate covers in exchange. If the real intention of the power decrease to OML is to increase the variety of 5* characters fielded, random pulls will not achieve that.
I will also reiterate: it sets a very bad precedent to nerf a 5* character, particularly without appropriate compensation. Your players hoard CP 6-12 months, or spend a very large amount of money to cover these characters. There's no point in chasing Thanos, Bolt, Panther etc if you're just going to nerf them without adequate compensation next month anyway.9 -
So if the reasoning is because over 10% of won battles have OML in it, when can we look forward to the thanos (either), strange (either), or im40 nerf?2

I know i wont be spending money on this game anymore after this nerf this is the last straw for me.3

Thank you Morph3us, this is precisely what I have tried to say in my support ticket requests... I did precisely this, saved thousands of CP to upgrade specific OML skills, 720 on a yellow level (edit, initially I had said 1440 twice, but when favourites came in I spent the rest of the CP, about the same, on classic pulls, in the hope of getting his red power, got another yellow instead), and 3 random 5* tokens as compensation? Pathetic. Had I known, these would have been spent in the latest vault for the better chance at Thanos covers.
This action on their part shows that no character investment is safe. So why should we bother?
"Your form letter response misses the point entirely. Unless such compensation was to include the CP invested in upgrading the skills that made him such a viable character, then the compensation is useless. This investment was made on the basis that you had previously said that you were improving other substandard characters, rather than nerfing valid ones. How soon until you nerf characters that are presently far more effective than OML, such as Black Bolt and Thanos? Why should customers have any confidence in investing time and money into the game if you continue to hold the threat of nerfing valid character strategies over them?"
....
"Having just read your compensation offer within the game, once again, I am dismayed.Should I choose to sell my level 345 OML with 6 skill levels (2/4/0), which I recently invested 720 command points on increasing his healing skill - which you appear to be dramatically nerfing, you are offering *three* *random* 5* tokens (in addition to some other, less meaningful, compensation).Had I known you were going back on your previous position of improving deficient characters rather than nerfing existing ones, I would have invested these CP in the legendary vault for much better chances at improving my 5* Thanos - who will no doubt be one of the next characters under your nerfing microscope. Can you understand why, having invested a significant amount of CP for a specific improvement, I would be dismayed with 3 chances at a non-specific improvement to a random 5* character?"
...
Nothing but form letter responses. Despite what they say, I doubt anyone is listening.
I get the feeling that nothing is going to change this except widespread condemnation in such a way that would further threaten their bottom line. En masse negative reviews in app stores, bad reviews and reporting of their changes, etc. I'm disgusted at these changes and their total lack of understanding of proper compensation. Clearly they do not play the game the same way that we, the players, do.6 -
Not complaining (yet) to this NERF.
I've started using him 1 or 2 week ago. With one black and one yellow cover, I'm almost already invicinble. Feel powerfull. No argue, he has to be nerfed. Just sad characters are always nerfed when I finaly start to be able to play them.

Well, I am not going to read through 12 pages of complaints about this and I am confident that someone else has brought this up. They did the same thing with X-Force Wolverine. He was a powerhouse in his original iteration. When they nerfed him, it was like day and night - he just isn't used as much any more. I don't always skip a team with XFW, it just depends on who he is teamed with but for the most part, I don't worry about him as much. I see the same thing happening with OML. My OML is currently at 12 covers (3/4/5) but only at level 285 and I use him sometimes for the higher level matches. Yes, I have had some of my champed 4* taken out effortlessly by OML but, hey, that is part of what the game is all about. You win some, you lose some.0

Ok so you (devs) state that oml was nerfed because too many people use him and you see him everywhere.
For that reasoning you will shortly be nerfing Phoenix and then whomever the next 5* to be released was...then the next etc.
However I'll wager you'll turn a blind eye to the most over used charcters in the game by a wide margin....dark avenger.
As this is a "usage" thing these guys need a major nerf at high levels. I see them in every pve in every node and have done so since I started playing. They clearly need a nerf as they are involved in way way way higher than 10% of matches.0 -
Can we have a moment of silence for the death of Black Suit Spidey?
BSSM is tragic collateral damage in the need to declaw OML. I have a level 452 BSSM that now has a useless passive.

You have zero idea how hard we worked for every single OML cover we got. Whether it was gambling away in overpriced CP clubs or slaving away in ridiculous pve slogs or long, stale pvp climbs...... most of us we fought tooth and nail for every single +1 command point needed to MAYBE get him. So much time, energy, and in
Many cases ridiculous amounts of money spent to get him over the last 1.5 years.
This nerf is absolutely disgusting and totally unnecessary now you will see all these Super OP Thanos and bolt completely dominating everything throwing the balance off way further then ever before.
But at least do compensation right. One random 5* for every 2 champed levels? That's absurdly insulting. It should be one token for every single champed level as well as a significant sum of CP, HP and ISO. You should never nerf a sacred 5* in a game this ridiculously expensive and time consuming...... customer retention and confidence in spending will be at an all time low if you don't make compensation extraordinarily good. Right now it's an absolute joke. Do it right or refund all the money we have spent since OML was introduced. This is very bad business. I have a level 519 OML. I expect at LEAST a 5* cover for each champed level plus an additional 13 more for his base level .... that's only fair for starters.
Sidenote: How was he not given a significant base level health boost / match dmg boost to offset this nerf-bat homicide ? He's gonna be ultra squishy and all those beastly thanos and BBs gonna tear through him ultra quick8 -
So you have nerfed my only competetive 5* character and my options are to keep him and suffer the scaling with a weaker character, or to trade in his 9 covers for 5 random ones.
Bummer.0 -
It's an indirect Phoenix nerf too. Her best 5* partner just got declawed.0

12 pages and only Dauthi is pleased with the change. Hmm...
I'm not gonna lie, depending on how bad he's nerfed, I might pull the plug. Oh, I've got four more champed 5* characters, including Thanos.
Thanos is crazy on offense. But he isn't going to get me through 54 Story nodes and Versus events. Not without turning my entire 100-character roster into slag, at least. And I surely won't be having much fun trying to deal with Black Bolt in those Versus events, accelerating the rate at which my only useful characters are pasted.
Regardless of whether Demiurge is consciously or unconsciously motivated by it, Logan's healing and availability are prompting his popularity, not his power. He's a symptom, not the cause. Thanks to 5* scaling and MMR, my roster effectively equals about 10 characters. Logan mitigates that to an unparalleled degree
But I'll thank Demiurge for at least giving me another strong reason to reconsider my commitment to this game. This will be the second time I've thought about checking out. Despite other changes giving me real pause, this is the only one that threatens a very significant part of my previous investment. I don't recall who said it earlier in this thread, but they're basically getting ready to undermine or scuttle a year and a half of progress on me here. Not cool.

Good observation, Aces. Logan is one of only two strike producers in the tier, and the better by a good margin. That said, his other two powers are still pretty good. At least you've got an easy choice for which one to dial down to 3.0
-
Ah, but they're involved in a high percentage of defeats. Which clearly means they're in need of significant buffs so they aren't punching bags.

Don't worry every time they nerf a character we can just sell them back for 1/2 the covers or less

Juggernaut is in desperate need of a nerf.

Health pack sales are all devs think about; the windfall of everyone needing to pay to keep playing. everyone should have all characters down or low on health every session of playing; then devs will be happy cause then we will need to buy to keep going if our best tank is gone.

Same for me, you won't have anymore money after this nerf.
I paid a lot of money to have OML at 450, more than 400€. You want to change him, give me possibility to have another 5* full covered.

Lack of beta testing
Lack of gameplay modes
Reducing iso and 2* covers rates from winning pvp
constant rush of new characters
Vaulting of older characters (in a game where every 3* and 4* is essential for gameplay in pve)
Vintage Heroes tokens
Nerfs long after the character was released
Upcoming DDQ token 'nerf' to rewards
Having started the game just before true healing got nerfed and only taken a break a few months right after 3* Cage was introduced, i've seen a lot of bad decisions against players. It's also why i've never spent and never will on this game. There is little 'good faith' on the part of the developers. Instead there's another Marvel game that's getting my $$ for a lot of reasons this game doesnt. That game and developers may not be perfect but at least they don't treat their players as bad as this.3
