I just got lit up by a max team of GSBW, Spidey, and the Hood. That's an interesting team to go up against.

I've been using Spidey and Punisher in this event...So far so good...the team above has given me the most difficulty so far.
  • Open event token ---> It is gold! Awesome ----> And a red widow bringing her to ...2/4/0 which is kinda not very useful at all icon_rolleyes.gif

It's all about perspective. I got a yellow bagman from the event token. A red widow looks pretty good from my vantage point. icon_mad.gif

I know I have no right to complain, still sore we fell just shy of getting the purple one from the alliance rewards and it is her skill that has utility at any level that still eludes me

In the last Hood event, I got a bunch (6 or 7) of defensive wins with that team. My guess is that everyone focuses on Hood first, which gives Spidey and GSBW enough time to hoard up their abilities.

The huge downside to running that team on offense is that it is sooo slow and if GSBW gets knocked out you are screwed.
  • Watch out for a person named Master McFly - he is cheating.

I've been rolling with my 1-1-0 lvl 18 Widow, MStorm and ASWolverine and just hitting the Desert node like there's no tomorrow. Mistress of the Elements + Lightning Storm + Oasis is too good to pass up.

And I'm somehow picking up the odd defensive win. No idea how that's happening but I'm assuming a lvl 85 Wolverine has a large part to do with it.

That is exactly what I did and it completely screwed me. My next turn I was going to fire off the sniper rifle, Spidey stunned me and the opponent got off their sniper rifle. I checked their damage total hoping I'd have a sliver of health remaining...no dice.

That team came up again, I didn't make the same mistake twice.

If I see a team with Spidey I'm taking mine to the fight. I learned that lesson quick. I've been using GSBW/Hulk/Hood or Spidey, mostly. Punisher works pretty well, too, but with Hulk I can put him out in front if the enemy gets enough for a big hit and get some green AP.

Another combo that works pretty well (but slowly) is IM40 (with 4 yellow), GSBW, and Spidey. Either IM40 gets yellow to fire off recharge or GSBW gets purple/green to fire off sniper rifle. You have Spidey to stun if necessary, and if anyone actually survives Sniper Rifle IM40 can finish them off with his red.
  • This one is terrible, I have skipped matches I have lost matches, but everytime I go look there is not a single team I can defeat there. This is first time have run into this, usually there is a team or 2 with lvl 1-5 guys on it, this time everything has been lvl 40+, what a joke for newer players.

The MMR bubble is horrible in this.
Usually there's at least some randoms thrown in, this time it's The Ladder / Bubbleboy / Walala / SongCn at every skip past 550. Haven't had that before 850 in a long while, wonder if they changed something in the algorithm.

    How so??
  • I've been enjoying using GSBW with Hulk (to take damage out front and hopefully generate more green AP) along with cStorm. GSBW's purple to generate green and Storm's Lightning Storm to generate all other colors has been very effective. I'm getting 1-2 Wind Storm attacks off per round, as well as some GSBW pistol shots to damage and generate more AP. It is a very satisfying feeling for the opposing team to have 2/3rds of it's health left and never get another turn. Not having a max blue spidey, I've not gotten to experience this much (outside of random cascades).
  • Been stuck using a pretty much useless GSBW with 63 Thor and CStorm, and every match up I can go against is pretty much teams with a combo of Astonishing Wolverine, Daken, Thor, and Storm, so I'm pretty much never going to even be able to get to 300. Hopefully Lightning rounds start sometime so I can start tanking.

He's using that exploit where you make a match then immediately start shaking your phone/tablet as hard as you can. Sometimes you can get additional gems to drop and you cascade and crit like mad. icon_lol.gif j/k

MasterMcFly is running a 23gsbw 27jugg 29chawkeye and put the beatdown on a couple of us (S.H.I.E.L.D). Can't say for 100% sure that s/he's cheating because of lucky cascades (shake that phone!), but it"s highly probable that s/he is.

I've been running hood and lazy Thor. If I get enough yellow or purple to pop the ability it's call the storm time. Walkyourpath with his bp and Thor maxes was the only fight I was at all worried about and I just made sure to grab a few black matches then once yellow and purple were ready Thor dealt with them both quite quickly.
  • we've submitted a ticket already, but i think some friendly advice to anyone in this event would be to not retaliate to this person. remember, s/he's not cheating, s/he's exhibiting suspicious behaviour.

How many times?.. You don't need to tank in LRs exclusively, when Shield training exists.

Looking through the matchups now. 23 GSBW/61 CStorm/75 Ares, 23 GSBW/77 MNThor/40 Juggs, and 68 GSBW/85 MHawkeye/85 MNThor. So right now, pretty much the only one I MIGHT Have a shot at would be the one with the 40 Juggs, but my luck has been **** so far this morning.

And yeah, I might as well do it in Shield Training as well, because skipping matches aren't getting me any better matches. Do I have to WIN a match with the weak team in Shield Training, or just play through a match with it?

Just retreat your whole roster to death, no need to actually play.
  • I may as well do the best I can with the team I have. Managed to level storm up to 20. Since I'm new to the game, should i just retreat against high levels to avoid losing points and just pair up against people at my level. Apprently the random alliance i joined until an alliance here is willing to bring me is doing ok in this event so I feel like i shouldn't avoid this event, even though my roster is full to get the widow's bite token.

This is 100% accurate. You get a low MMR AND you get to see a lot of weird names. Yesterday I retreated from a fight with the Adele Dazeem from Dizznee's Frigid.
