The alliance reorganization thread has a nice spreadsheet attached that we probably want to join at some point. Before we do, we really need to have a realistic discussion of scores and nail down our expectations out of the alliance and alliance members.

At the end of last season (where we finished 29th overall), a lot of people talked about putting up just enough points to get to the alliance cover reward. Without pointing fingers, we fell well short of that in the last two pvp events with the last finish being a 112. I personally didn't put up anything close to my usual in Season 1 hovering right around 600 for both.

Some statistics on our last pvp event:
total: 10779
average: 539
standard deviation: 192
high: 826
low: 119

For comparison here is how 107 did:
total: 11093
average: 554

Fiddling with the numbers:
Bringing our lowest scores(8 people) to a minimum of 500 gets us an average of 599 and total of 11980 which likely overshoots 100th, but probably guarantees a cover every time.
Bringing the lowest 6 scores to at least 400 cuts it closer as it raises the total score to 11347 and an average of 567. This is likely right at the border of 100.

Some combination of the above probably gets us pretty close to covers every time with the occasional miss but it is always going to be close. The main thing is we need to decide on what we are willing to commit to. The competition for top 100 is greater than it was before. Posting lower scores are now a bigger issue because we no longer have scores in the 900-1000 to make up for them. We used to have quite a few people who could take up the slack but we just don't anymore. ~300 and less is not going to be enough for covers. I'm fine adjusting my expectations to no covers and I'm fine pushing for 600 but I can't keep doing the latter if no one else can commit to raising their scores. My MMR makes posting a score of 600 a painful grind right down to the wire and only yields me a 2* cover anyway.

PS. Needless to say, last night was an adventure. I'm going to chalk it up to a glitch or an unfortunate accident because I know after speaking with him that Petme didn't leave the alliance. It doesn't really matter what happened as long as he can get his spot back.

I know I can do at least 300, generally 500, and sometimes more. I don't find fighting 141's fun with my Lv.100 Punisher/max OBW/third character and even when I started the tourney a few 141's showed up. I'm not as active as I used to be with PvP because I find it to be a grind and very repetitive.

I do think that barring outside issues, 300 should be a minimum here, unless we don't want to be a top 100 alliance anymore. For now, I'd like to be a top 100 alliance.

As far as PVE goes, that too is becoming more of a grind, but it would be nice if at least 5 of us could reach the top progression reward, at the very least, depending on how achievable that is.

I'm interested in hearing what everyone else has to say.

I actually did check to see what would happen if we bumped up the lowest scores below 300 to 300(there were two and one actually was not that far off) and I don't think it was enough to beat 107. Didn't check for 350, but 400 would be safer. The danger of setting the bar too low is if we get too many shooting for the minimum, we'll likely miss anyway.

Also, Alt, believe me when I say I feel your pain on the MMR/bracketing problems. It seems quite a few of us are in that group of midrange players getting lumped in with the top players. IceIX mentioned something about them being aware of the problem, but who knows when they'll fix it. In the meantime, I hope we'll be patient while we figure out how to get to top 100 regularly. The truth is we have some interesting company at the 100+10 range since competition has gotten pretty stiff.

Im getting very close to ending this game . None of all the changes since i started playing has made this game better and frankly, im getting sick of it.

If you guys want to be a top 100 cover guild thats awesome. But i feel that if so, im most likely bowing out.
Cant be pressured to play this game anymore.
I wonder how the developers feel. If they truley belive all these changes made the game better. I hope not...

I'm sorry to hear it Xorm. You are a great addition to our alliance.

While I would like to be top 100, I'd love to hear from the rest of you. If the majority of the alliance decides that they don't want to be top 100, that's okay too. I think we just need to know that we're all on the same page.

Thanks alt but im afraid i dont contribute that much anymore. Both my pve and pvp scores are horrible compared to what they used to be. And that is a pure result of this game not beeing as fun as it used to be.

Honestly, if not for hubris i would be gone already.

Firstly the idea of this guild was always to get covers for everyone. We are a top 100 guild and until recently that wasnt an issue. When you guys signed up i was always clear that's the goal. If you feel that's too much playing and don't think you can uphold that then I hope we can part ways on good terms. But thats the idea when i created and when we recruited for this alliance.

Secondly i may have to re-start my entire account. On top of my recent internet issues my whole CPU took a dump on me a couple days ago and currently im not able to get it running. Since i cant link my steam account to a mobile account im likely to be forced to restart on the mobile version and lose everything. I will be opening a ticket this weekend and seeing the results, but currently i cant even log in. If you guys want to kick me temporarily to get the points and stay top 100 i dont disclude myself. I know im dragging us down right now as well, and shouldn't be different than anyone else. If it isnt resolved by Monday i will be flipping to Mobile on a new account, and will keep you guys posted.

Then, based on Fatal Attraction, we simply cannot post more than 25% of our scores as less than 400 on events. Although, I'm not even sure that 400 would have gotten it done in the last event. Even ignoring the fairness of relying too heavily on the top 3, there might not be enough points available to at the top to make up the difference. We don't have any whales capable of putting up 1k every event.

If we join that spreadsheet to facilitate replacing leaving players, I think we should set our expectations as 400 minimum with a late push if necessary to make top 100. Anything more than that and we are expecting more out of new members than old members to drag us up. Unless we want to place a hard limit on everyone for 500.

I like the 400 as a baseline. I think clear cut outlines will help everyone and if we fall out of sync, then we can adjust the bar. I really like this idea.

Also Mikaine, since i cant do anything with the guild did Petme ever get back in? If we are going to be doing some shifts, and Xormar decides to leave if i remember right that Omega1 or whatever his name was that got brough in late had some decent PvP score.

Yep, the whole thing got resolved. Thanks. Scarf actually decided he had enough of the game last night so it works out that Mega1ron can stay.
If there's no objections, I will put our name up on that spreadsheet, although I'm not sure how many spots we are filling. Since not everyone reads the forums, someone should explain what we need as a baseline going forward in the game chat. Anyone who doesn't think that they can meet 400 regularly can speak up and that is the number of spots I will say are open.

Also, scarf previously floated the idea of a sister-alliance for alts and people who will be less active. I like the idea of keeping them as part of the group as a larger whole even if they can't play enough right now to help us get to top 100. I may create a steam account just for this purpose if people want to do this. They could also potentially be a bench for when we have vacancies.

Thats a fun idea, but i dont see anyone paying for roster spots over 5 for an alt alliance to have a "bench" so to speak.

And yes go ahead and post about the 400 minimum, in game if you can. And again i wont be able to play and likely have to flip to mobile and wipe my account. So if an event is closing and we arent in top 100 just drop me and ill get back in one way or another.

I think I see some light at the end of the tunnel for 2-3* MMR hell.

I caved and used my supply of hero points to buy the final cover to make Thor 13/13. He's not 3/5/5 but bringing him to 4/4/5 with that 4th yellow is already making a difference. My original plan was to wait for the ISO to max out Falcon and Psylocke first, but I decided that my best bet for success now is investing in Thor because of his strong yellow and green and huge health pool. An in-progress LazyThor has been more effective against the 2x141 teams than an in-progress Falcon or Psylocke.

I also don't know if it's making a difference but I am also tanking in the shield simulator if you are wondering about my relatively low season score. I'll probably start in on padding my season score there in the last week.

I do expect an easier time getting a halfway decent score because my Psylocke is lvl 89 unbuffed. I'm running a team with Lazycap/Lazythor and it has the benefit of 3 game over abilities on offense and 2 huge health pools.

I have been so tempted to buy a couple covers as I have not seen anything good in a long while. I have not made any progress in over 2 weeks. So my thought are to buy two covers either for LazyCap or Pun or I could do one for each.

I try to base my score up to 600 when I can. So that should help with some of the lower one to help us make up a little ground.

Im driving over to my parents place late tonight. After that 3 hour drive they will likely be asleep, so im going to install steam on their CPU and do what i can in whatever events are up there. Hoping to get the 400 baseline and buy a nice long shield.

I hope you'll stay, but I understand if you don't. I know you have raided competitively in WoW and I have too, so I completely understand how you are feeling. A phone app game or any game really should not cause you any stress. So don't worry about us, we'll just have to figure out a way.

In the meantime, if you discover some fun in sticking around casually in the game, don't be a stranger.

Also, in answer to a really old discussion, I'm a New Jersey Devils fan and we've practically ruined your young countrymen Urbom, Tedenby, Josefson, and Larsson in a few years of mismanagement. Plus, we fired Hedberg! He was such a great guy.

Taking a break from the game, willing to transfer my roster between FB accounts if someone wants to do it. Really enjoyed playing with you all,but not able to stick to a competitive schedule. I have some decent covers, so if anyone wants to take over the scarf account I'm game.
