Retals are worthless if you retal someone who is lower on points then yourself... you already do know that he can beat your team and now you are only giving him another option to get MORE points off you and that's without losing some ISO for skipping... absolutely worthless to retal at times unfortunately ;/

I know. But since im attacking him he keeps losing points also. Ofc if its only 6 points i dont care but if its 17 ish im going for it.
And sometimes when you do that to ppl they get scared or dont have the energy for it so they stop attacking you.

For me its fun but im like that way. icon_twisted.gif
  • My internet is down again. Apperently the new modem they gave me is pulling IP adresses that are off their network so they block the internet as a security measure. I have someone coming out for the thrid time on Wednesday.

If i could get a different internet service i would, but this **** carrier has a deal with the entire apartment complex. Its either this or use some non high-speed service, like Motorolas 3g service.

sorry guys, if need be ill drop out before the end of the season, if it doesnt look like we will land a fury. i know i have been dragging because of this.
  • Connect your phone to your comp and use it as a modem.

Ill try my best to cover for you in pvp dude. If we all do it we should be fine.
  • I may purchase a couple Cmag covers to help finish the push. I need to kill at this PvP so that I can max my Patch.
  • Alright guys, this is a call to arms. Get ready cause this is going to get bloody!

We are failing! There is no way else to put it. We have been struck by unfortunate events in real life. But thats not the problem.
The ppl who are having issues and are communicating it are not to blame.
I just want to make clear i am in no way attacking those ppl.

Im attacking us all for going soft. Me included. Not all of us though but im not here to name names for either shame or glory.
Im here to tell you all the simple truth.

If we dont shape up, we are going to lose fury. Its as simple as that.

Omg noes!!, are most of you thinking right now but relax. Im here to tell you we can still climb out of this hole we dug for us.

Like i said, i blame myself aswell, dont think otherwise. Sure i was having doubts and scored way way less than i was before.
Thats still sticking with us. I have recently rediscovered my love for this game. You guys are a big part of that.

Im not a quitter. I dont want to jump ship to some other alliance. I want to win fury and i want to win him here dammit.
So let the world see our combined might. Lets bite down for the remainder of season 2 and through blood, sweat and tears
(Read: through sleepless nights, bleeding eyes and shields) get that fury cover!

    WHO IS WITH ME!!!
  • I may purchase a couple Cmag covers to help finish the push. I need to kill at this PvP so that I can max my Patch.

    Buy blue!
  • Yeah ive tried the USB tethering. Doesnt take, but ill give it another shot when im home tonight
  • I believe Mikaine was also talking to someone which a high season score as well. What was the status of that?
  • Xomar

I hope you know I am all hands on deck. I am trying to push, past this 900 cap I have been on. I need some direction on what it takes to 1100 like you have. Any suggestions are very welcomed at the current time. Any tips you can throw them at me. I want the Blues and I see his blue one is at the 1100 Mark for this pvp. So any help pushing there let me know.
  • He never responded. Probably got scared off by our current ranking.
  • I guess I will hold off buying 2 covers for Cmag til I see where we decide what direction we go. I am for pushing to hold onto the Fury Cover but I see it could put a hugh strain on us over the next week. I know we talked about being more relaxed after season one but sometimes it seems we went to relax. I have enjoyed this group a ton and you let me in when I was still in the 1* just starting 2* stage. I love making that push to 900 in PvP but also want to start hitting 1100 part of the time. I feel like I could benfit with some more tips and direction on what way to take my roster. I don't mind turning my iso into buffs as it is better then trying to buy covers with hp or opening packs.

So any more tips and idea are always welcomed. Let's start to make a little more of a push and get back on track.
  • Ill answer you this evening (for me atleast) boom. To much right now to focus
  • We're at 98th right now but looking back, we have missed a lot of lost opportunities to catch up or build a lead for season two. It's not over yet and there is still enough time remaining in season 2 but the margin for error is growing thinner and thinner. If we want the Fury cover, we can't take the attitude that when we're already in cover range for a particular event that the 400 point minimum is not necessary. We need to bank points now or we'll pay for it later. It would be a disservice to the top scorers to sugarcoat the fact that we have some really low season scores that need to pick it up. Pretty soon, other alliances that are also snoozing are going to raise their average scores and open up a lead on us that the top scorers won't be able to match. We need the points to come from the rest of us.

Xormar is right, though and I think we can do it. So let's stop talking about wanting to be a top 100 alliance and ...LET'S DO IT!!!
  • ALso guys if you havnt been focusing the Simulator you may be able to bank some big points there. You go up against people who likely have a lot more points than you, and can score 30-40 points per round. Every point helps.

As i said i know I'm dragging and ill bow out before thew fury event as my score is abyssmal. Working on a solution to get the interwebs working at home again. Maybe ill just bring the whole PC to a bar...
  • The road to 1100!

Alright, ill try to help as much as i can. If i miss anything i might come back and add it later on.

The road to 1100 is not an easy one, let me say that at first. There will be times when nothing works and you want to throw stuff around you.
Dont. Just face that sometimes **** happens and either forgett it this pvp or grit your teeth and try again.

Ill try to space things out in sections but my mind wanders from time to time so bare with me.

    XX

The roster and featured char. This is a big deal. Is your roster not full of 141's or the featured char is weak, expect to have a hard time reaching 1100.
You need to be able to front a team that says DONT ATTACK ME when you push in order to stay alive in the top. At a certain point you will be shown to everyone and their mother and there are tons of full 141's out there that loves easy prey. I know, im one of them. icon_twisted.gif

Also, think about your defensive team. Do you put up a meat wall with hulk/Lthor/bp or a somewhat squishier team with Hood/pun/whoever or an annoying team with alot of defensive tiles going around.
Dont expect alot of defensive wins but your defensive team is mostly there to make ppl skip you and go for something else.

    XXX

Time and the ability to play long streches. This, atleast for my playstyle is key. if i have alot of time, say 3 hours, i know i can push my score up high. I might not always have the quickest fights, but i try to make sure i leave them at full health so i can go on longer than others can.
But that dont mean you always need to bring a healer into every fight. Take the best team you have for the most part. The fights will be quicker and your team will look more scary on defense. When one of the 3 is starting to get lowish swap one out for a healer to heal them up. in the healer fight, take your time and make sure that you get as much healing in as possible.
(right now my gf is nagging at me so it might get wierd here but try to understand me anyway.)
Then right back in with the main team again. Try to get the healing done before they go into critical mode. You dont want them dying so you waste medpacks. You need them later on.

    XXXX

    The higher point lvls.
So you did what i said and reached the higher lvls. 800-900. (If you dont have more time to play i would advice either shielding up or not going above 700. You dont want all the sharks to see you too soon cause you will get pummeled into the ground without a shield.)
Now you are working against the clock. You will become visible to most of the mpq world and if you have a decent or good roster, this is a good thing. If you have a mediocre or weak roster, you are in trouble.

The reason im saying its a good thing if your roster is decent is you will start to see all the 2 teams that have managed to climb this high and can take advantage of them.
I know this sounds, well, bad, but hey, thats life.

You now have a couple of choises.
You can go for the weaker teams. They will usually not give you as much points but they will also be less likely to retaliate against you.
You can go for stronger teams with more points. The fights will be more dangerous and you will most certainly take more damage, or even lose a couple of chars.
This is why you saved your medpacks. Try to get as many fights in as possible if you have a weaker team that dont scare of so many others. Then you shield up if you managed a decent score.

If you come out from a match and have lost 150 points dropping you down from 900 to 750 dont sheild up in panic. Just start the slow grind again.

    XXXXX

    Shieldhopping.

If you did manage a decent score, you will have to decide for yourself what a decent score is considering your roster, its now time to start shieldhopping.
Lets say you did a magic push, landing you in 950 land. Throw up a 3 hour shield. Dont forget to go in and check your standings after you put up a shield. This can sometimes remove the server lagg for when you shield making your shield a bit quicker.

Now you need to wait a while, 20-30 min is my usual wait time. You do this cause you want all the ppl that were able to see you hit your shield and not you.
Also, any retaliations that are inbound will also bounce.

Now you search for fights. Remember, your shield only breaks when you start a fight. Scroll through the targets untill you have found 1-3 matches giving you good/decent points and you feel you can beat relatively fast.

Then, after 20-30 min, you break your shield and fight. Here time is of the essence. You need to finish the fights quick before ppl start attacking you.
Sometimes you get lucky and the fights take no time at all. Here you must gamle. Do you risk one more fight or play it safe and shield up again?
This is the time you want to use boosts.
When you are done with your little hop, you put up another 3 hour shield. Take your beaten up team to shield training and heal them up to full so they are ready for the next hop.

With a little practise, timing and luck you will be able to reach the 1100 mark.

    Oh, i almost forgot.

    XXXXXX

Play when you are the only one playing.

Figure out when most ppl are doing other stuff. Is there a popular LR going on? Chances are alot of ppl are playing that. The end of a pve event/subevent? Alot of ppl are grinding out the last points there.
Doing this can get you further than you think. Last pvp i climbed untouched from 800 to 1050 ish. Yes, i had to sacrifice some pve points but hey, in my book it was worth it.

    Also, the donts.

Never push close to a shield timing. Alot of ppl will be playing that time to bump their score up and then shield. Especially avoid the 8 and 3 hour marks.
Dont push after 3 hours either. Its crazy how many ppl are playing during that time.

I really hope this helps you boom, and ofc the rest of you guys as well.
And if you got this far, reading all this, gz, you get a cookie!
  • Xomar,

Love the write up and will find it very helpful. Now any suggestions going forward with my roster. At first I had enjoyed my LazyCap but so many matches I use him I feel he takes forever. Then just it seems like I will either get his blue or red Shield going here come the cascade of death. I just can not believe how it feels at times. I normally can hit that 900 pt range and thats where I seem to hit a road block. Maybe tonight I will push to the 700 pt range and let it sit then hammer it in the 6hrs to go range.
  • I've done hardly any Shield training, so think I've got 1k worth of points waiting there when I have some time dedicated to it.
  • In regards to your roster question boom. You have 3 rather strong 3*s almost covercapped. Those are the once i would focus on first.

Also noticed you have rather many covers for cmags now. I would like to say lvl him cause he is an absolute beast on offence, but since a nerf is coming his way, most likely he will become useless like the others before him.

Him and patch together are monsters though.

If you manage to get covers for patch i would probably lvl him first. Even though your patch currently will be the glas cannon build. You can always change that later on. I prefere 5y cause it makes him go on forever.
