  • First of all, you better not leave, X. You've earned a spot for life as far as I'm concerned (not that it's my call to make, but figured I'd toss in my two cents.)

Secondly, definitely in agreement with the consensus that the game feels like a chore now. There's definitely events i don't give two sh*ts about, but feel like I have to grind it out to pull my weight for the alliance. I've never been a huge scorer anyway, so I'll probably keep trying to squeeze out top 50s for my one cover. But for **** like Loki cover events, the motivation just isn't there. Unfortunately, with seasons, bad finishes now have a lasting impact. Not sure what to do about that.

Thirdly, I really like the group we've got and don't really mind on missing out on covers occasionally. If there's one that a few of us really want/need, maybe just give a holler on the forum and hopefully we can all crank up the effort and pull a good finish.
  • Here is a little data analysis and my ideas and suggestions about where we go from here.

I think we did excellent as an alliance and we were only around 4000 behind #25, which would have been the next step up on rewards.

I am totally fine with us just being a top 100 alliance if that's what everyone else wants to do. The only issue is that the point spread was closer than I thought it would be as far as top 100 alliances go.

We averaged approximately 10626 points per person. The top 100 alliance averaged 9866 per person, which is a 760 point difference.

I don't know where everyone was in the simulator, but I guessed 2000 per member. I think there were 10 events in the season, so that averages out to approximately 864 per event for each member of this alliance.

The top 100 alliance needed 776 points at 2000 simulator points per member to make their score, assuming a 20 person alliance, which doesn't give tons of wiggle room.

With that said, we've got some strong PVP players here, so missing one or even two PVP's probably won't be the end of the world, but we still have to hit a fair amount above 500 to comfortably stay top 100.

If we as alliance don't care about top 100, that's okay too. It would be nice to hit those third covers in the individual events though and I think if we do that, we will probably be within reach of top 100. I do hope both Xormar and elusive stay with us. You guys are both great addition to the alliance and helpful guys.

If my data is horribly off, I apologize, I'm tired, but I tried. Math isn't my strong point.

Also, all of this data may not matter if Season 2 ends up being less competitive than Season 1.

Any feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Thanks to everyone for our great performance this season!

I think there must have been more than 10 events, maybe 11? I don't think we avg 864 pts per event. Even with our high scorers we had a number of events with 3-5 players sub 500. I do think you've made the point I was trying to make in that as long as everyone is pulling their fair share maintaining top 100 and earning the alliance cover is easily in our grasp. Thanks for the research.

Thanks for pointing that out. I went and checked and calculated 13. So that bring the average points per player down to 664 for us and 605 for them (the 100 ranked team), assuming a 20 person alliance with each player scoring 2000 in the simulator.
  • First of all, none of the long time players need to go anywhere. You have earned the right to take it easy in events if you want.

I think we are good with the idea of trying to do at least 500-600 or so in pvp as a baseline. That doesn't seem too crazy. I used to get top 10s in pvp, but with the change in bracketing, that has been pretty much impossible. Was going to shield hop for the first time in the last event and possibly sneak a top 10 but got hit with 3 big losses with 2 minutes to go. Guess I broke shield a little too early. Not sure that it's worth it for a character that you don't plan on using for the long haul anymore. As long as I can get one cover, and the alliance cover, that should be good enough for me.

I'm going to have to think about it, but definitely sitting on the burnout ledge and not sure I like the direction the game is going. Starting with the Sentry, I think I need to figure out characters that I have to flush instead of always buying new slots. I really don't want to sink any more personal money into the game until I feel good about the direction it's going, if that makes any sense?

I've got my own full time job, I don't really need another one in a sense with this game. They are setting up the goals to almost require intense play 2 times a day to be competitive. That's just too much.

I gave up in top ten PvP long time ago. I aim for top twenty in the pve events and top twenty five/fifty PvP. Takes longer to get covers in PvP, but it's so oooo much less hassle. Plus placing high in the long events just requires timing your play time and hitting each sub.
  • I thank all of you guys for your support and will to let me stay icon_e_biggrin.gif
And no, i wont be leaving untill you guys feel you need a new point machine.

Feels damn good this. Thank you!
  • Faintheart left. Are we thinking of recruiting another person? If so, by when and will we have any requirements?

After my dismal showing in Heavy Metal, I feel bad, but I'm pushing for Sentry right now. For some reason, I kept getting destroyed in Heavy Metal, and I'm not sure why. I am also finding PVP a little boring with all the OBW, featured character, Thor/Ares teams. And if it's not them, it's level 100 or higher characters.

    How are you guys doing?

Any tips or strategies to share or any advice needed?

I don't think there are any tips. I use punisher and OBW, it's moderately fast and I can usually stay full. It takes me about two or three pushes to get where I want.

As far as requirements, I don't think they've changed since last time we recruited, illusive.

However, was our lax performance due to the holiday or burn out. We had a couple put out low numbers, which can happen with holidays. Others put out ZERO points or sub 200. With these events being as long as they are I don't think putting up a couple hundred points is asking too much.

I was really looking forward to that alliance cover. I thought we had this discussion about relaxing but maintaining top hundred. Everyone is not on board. I don't want to leave, but I want that cover.
  • For me it was more the holiday weekend as I was very busy and out of town. I had no time to sit and play as I was very busy from early morning to late evening.
  • Faintheart never put up good numbers. I'm surprised to see him be the one to leave after missing an alliance award.

My score was a combination of the holiday weekend and a brutal mmr. I do think my top ten season finish is coming back to haunt me. My bracket was ridiculous and I was getting matched with only 2x141 teams at the start. I wiped fairly often and my win percentage must have been much lower than normal. Still managed 600+ which put me at 101st. Fatal attraction has started a little better but not much.

I'm pretty confident that with the holiday over I should do better.
  • Im not surprised a low to nothing rather new player leaves.
He liked it here when we gave him free covers. Now we dont so he leaves.

The world is full of them.

Ofc i could be wrong and if so i apologise.
  • I know it's been said that tanking no longer works, but I did it pretty heavily at the beginning of the Daken tourney wiping like 5 or 6 teams worth of characters and have had some non 141 matchups come up in the run up to 400. A much easier road so far to that point. Not any real retaliations either, which helps. We'll see how that goes above 400 since I'm just getting there.

As far as players, 500-600 as a baseline for pvp is really all we ask. I think we should get on the recruitment side of things ASAP as good players are going to be at a premium right now with all the people leaving the game. Roster into the 2-3 star transition, or already there, etc.
  • Just figured I would post a video of what kept me from playing over the weekend. This is what I do in my free time,

  • That's awesome, boom! What's a show like that cost?
  • Two quick things.

Thanks for sharing with us boom! Awesome.

Second, cmat64 had a health scare, which is why he wasn't as active. I don't think we should kick him out. The most important thing is that he's okay. I think with our new additions, we should be fine for placement with covers. I'm still trying to secure top 20 for the three Sentry covers, so I'll do my best to help us all out.

With the conections I have that show cost me about $2500-3000 American. With out my conections it would cost over $5000 easy. Now you see why I go by Doesitgoboom.

On another note I am sorry that I have not had the greatest push in pve (missing 2 days killed that) and Right now my mmr has me seeing mainly 2 141 lvls with a 90+ Daken and I have only two characters at 115. So it has been very hard to get anywhere in this tournament. Plus D3's lack of caring is making harder to try and push thru it.
  • Getting a Comm Link Disabled error this morning to push in FA, will try again before noon. Hope you're doing better Cmat.
  • Sorry to hear about that cmat, get well! My Shield is due to expire right around now. If it pops back up and I've lost 100 points I'm going to be pissed.
  • I have 31000 points in PvE and 1900 in PvP. Been playing only for 12 days, 4-5 hours a day. **** rooster. If I may join, post something here, since i am already in a 20 member alliance (lazy one icon_razz.gif )
