  • I missed a refresh on the Simulator and my levels are going up. I should still be able to do the last clear, but I'm hoping scaling doesn't stay like this.
  • I dont like this anymore. The game if forcing me into playing bad, making poor matches, dragging out fights and taking as much damage as possible just to try to sop scaling somewhat. What other game punishes you for playing good? I cant really think of one right now.

Also, community scaling??? Excuse me but that is probably the dumbest thing yet. So if alot of other ppl are clearing a node and grinding it, it should make my game harder?

Im very close to giving up on the pve side of this game.

If you need a break, that's understandable. You kill it in PvP, which is important for the Season, which is where a lot of the rewards are. icon_e_smile.gif
  • I've been somewhat lucky with the scaling. The matches get difficult but I usually find a way to eventually beat them. I'm already conditioned for slow matches since Lazycap is my main hitter.

I'm with Alt, though. If you need a break from the pve side of things, I think we can still manage. Besides, I think the game's focus is moving more toward the pvp events side of things especially with the seasons and token changes.

Beating them isnt a problem since i got alot of options to do it with. The problem is that the fights are boring that way and i play games for fun. Spidey stun. Mags blue spam. Its not even a match 3 at that point. No strategy. Just collect blue and win.
  • Hey guys, I will have major exams coming up soon and so I will need a break from this game in order not to screw them up. I don't want to leech the rewards or limit you guys in terms of points so I will leave to make way for active players. Nice playing with all of you, you have all been great in your part as a team and thank you for accepting me in the first place....hopefully I did not let any of you down. Good luck and I am sure someday we will be in the top 10 alliance. Go Hubris!!!

Im sad to see you leave but glad you are smart enough to realise other things are more important.
Gl with your life and if you dont like it, check in with us. Scaling is probably up to 700 by that time so fun times...

    Seriously, gl mate.
  • Good luck with exams, whiteknight and thanks for being a great member of the alliance!
  • Life support activated. Stay with us forum thread. Dont give in to the ingame alliance chatt. We still love you.
  • I agree we need to utilize the fourm more then the in game chat. Also think we need to put a little thought into the direction the Alliance is headed. It seems as of late we seem to be scrambling to make position. I know we are not looking to make first place but what should are goals be? I would personally love to see placing well enough in PVE for the alliance cover but would love to see us push for top 25 in pvp's on a regular basis. Would love to even see a few top 10's.

I dunno I find that the in game chat is fine for most things. How many points does everyone have in the shield training. I've been putting it off for so long now. Sitting at around 500 pts.

I think we've been doing fine in most of the events. I'm happy as long as we get the alliance cover. If we're going to go for top 10/25 in events it should be for events that matter placing that high. The current Doctor Doom pvp is bracketed 1-2, 3-50. No real reason to push to be top 10/25, and we're not SHIELD level players so top 2 is out. The Season 1 is bracketed for a top 25 but it only gives 500 iso and 25 hp more than the 26-100. Unless they actually do more than they are saying it doesn't seem worth the MONTH long effort. We're already guaranteed the cover with top 100. The Sim is the only event where placing top 10/25/50 actually gives reasonably more iso/hp, but I know how you guys feel about doing the PVE events.

Community scaling sucks, but it sucks for everyone. Keeping your personal scaling is what you can control, though if I ever hit 200+ nodes consistently then I'll start crying. The two starting nodes to unlock the sim subs are sitting at 59/59/59 and 62/62/63. What does everyones' nodes look like?

Do people feel like we're not doing well enough?
  • I like a casual atmosphere but I don't think we should disregard doing as well as we can.

I'll admit that I really, really like getting the extra HP at top 50 for pvp. It's like free money and it definitely affects my shielding habits. It was a little disconcerting that we scrambled at the end for a top 100 finish. Some of that might have been from missing two people to RL engagements which was fine since we clearly had the backup to pick up the slack. But we do have to be careful that we always have enough people capable of picking up the slack.

I know we recently filled whiteknight's spot with someone new and it does seem a little unfair to be bringing a prologue-level roster when we're asking everyone to contribute. I purposely held back on inviting another friend for precisely this reason. In the end, if the loss is a little additional HP in the short term(hopefully very), I'm fine with a wait and see approach. Everyone has to start somewhere. However, I do think our potential is to always be at least a top 50 alliance and we definitely should strive for that. Feel free to agree or disagree.

I agree we should use the forum more as well. I think it should be a place where we talk about goals and strategies and all of us should feel welcome to post any questions we may have that might be more in-depth than the chat allows comfortably.

As far as rank goes, I would love to at least be top 50, if not 25.

I'm at 1435 in the simulator and over 5k overall. I too am happy if we get the alliance cover. Ultimately I think it's important to keep our scores up, especially when it comes to Season 1. People haven't made their push yet, but you know next weekend things are going to get crazy.
What does everyones' nodes look like?

My nodes are at 88/89/89 and 93/94/93 in the simulator.
Do people feel like we're not doing well enough?

Personally, I feel like we are doing well, but we could be doing a little better, just so we have more of a cushion. I was really proud of us for our God of Lies placement.

KR, I agree, especially about the part of having people who can pick up the slack when one or more of us can't play.
  • Work calls, will post my thoughts this evening or morning depending on what timezone you all are in.

Hey, great idea. You all should move to sweden. Its great here. We have icecreamcake
  • My roster is at an interesting spot. I've got lots of well-covered 3* characters but not enough ISO for them all.

    Where I've already spent ISO:
-13/13 Cap is maxed at 141. Lazycap isn't LazyThor but he's a very good character on his own merits. He doesn't really scare people off in pvp but I think he is very good on offensive and better than you think on defense. I don't regret leveling him to the cap since he was my only truly covered 3* for awhile.

-12/13 Punisher is softcapped at 128. Punisher is worth every bit of ISO at 128. He's so versatile and can hurt your enemies in different ways. The abilities don't wow you like Cap's shield or Thor's COTS, but they are great in early and midgame to put the hurt on support characters like OBW.

-10/13 Hulk is at 108 out of 115. Hulk especially with only 3 black was not the best place to sink ISO early. At the time, he was one of the few places I could put the ISO and I honestly didn't foresee getting Punisher covered so quickly. He obviously got benched in favor of Punisher who is much more versatile. Hulk is a luxury that you can stick in your last match of the evening to scare the neighborhood kids but probably shouldn't be your starter.

-9/13 Psylocke is softcapped at 89. Another character where I kind of wish I could get the ISO back. I thought with 9 covers she would be usable in all situations but that was before I got well-covered on LazyCap and Punisher. I never used her over Ares in pvp but she did make a difference in the Heroic Venom which is how I ended up with a 13/13 LazyCap. What I learned from this is the real point where a 3* can replace Ares is probably closer to 10 covers and level 102.

First to last order of where I currently expect my new ISO to go:
    12/13 Falcon
    10/13 LazyThor
    10/13 BlackPanther
Whichever comes first of Hood, Magneto, Spiderman in terms of covers.

My thinking is that Falcon will be first because he will play very well with Punisher and I can take him to 128. The defensive capabilities and the boost to Punisher's Strike and Attack tiles should propel this combination into LazyThor levels of goodness. LazyThor and BlackPanther play so well together, and I'm not really sure which to level first. The obvious choice is Thor, but I want a chance to play around with a Falcon/Panther combo and Panther's kittyrage.

I finnaly got my Punisher to 141. He's a workhorse with OBW. Those strike tiles and espionage do some serious damage. I have serious doubts of being able to replace OBW though. Stealing AP through both abilities does wonders for not dying and being able to get skills off. I'm not sure who to replace her with.

I have 3/5/5 ShieldBro but he's slower than Punisher and even Frank has trouble getting started sometimes. There's no one that has the colors OBW does and compliments Punisher nearly as well.

I'd hold off on spending ISO you don't need to until they release the next hero. I think they'll be more worth wile than Falcon. The straight +dmg to strike/protect tiles does get better the more levels he has with the update, but I don't think he's really that awesome. Time will tell. I wouldn't push him past 40 until I see how well he works in practice. I'm sitting on 24k ISO and it's burning a hole in my pocket. There's no one on my roster that needs it though. ShieldBro could take it but he already does work as is and until I get a max covered hood I'm done pumping him ISO.

Oh, If we're going to replace Brod's friend should we have criteria for what we're looking for? 600/700/800+ pvp points? solid roster? diversified roster? and if we're looking for this in the new player does that mean we're all looking at getting cut possibly? I know I got lucky and placed top of the alliance this time with 975 but thats not my normal score. I usually only aim for 600+. I do get that there's a difference between 500 and 200. Plus I liked that fact that we grew quickly, placed well from the start, and while reaching high rewards were friendly and not cut throat. I know that as time progresses we'll change the roster multiple times. Hopefully only because people get burned out/life not squabbling over 50pts.
(Not that anyone is squabbling over a few points. There have been some serious gaps in the last few events.)

Plus with 12 days left we need to start looking before all the solid players get nabbed. I would suggest we start looking and iron out the details after we get applicants. With a solid player we're easily top 50.

Of course it's nothing personal with Brod's friend. Whatever the reason whether it is newness to the game or unavailability those scores (<2000 and <200) were a pretty significant outlier for the alliance. It's very good to go friends-first but in this case I don't think it's particularly fair to everyone else. It's not like he's blacklisted and there will be inevitable turnover. At least he got a couple of good alliance rewards out of the situation. I think the experience just suggests we should get always get some hard numbers on activity to be sure an invite makes sense.

P.S. There's an interesting player on the LF Alliance thread that we may want to pursue (elusive). He seems pretty active (putting at least 600 pvp points) and mentions being active in alliance chat. He also has a pretty mature roster in line with our more mature rosters. His Season 1 score would put him in our top 5 without outpacing us. Any thoughts?

Punisher and OBW do work really well together. Also, you are so much better than me at deferring the satisfaction of spending your ISO. I get it in my head that a particular character will be great when leveled and I should level him right away. I can't help it! icon_lol.gif The current Top Gun tournament will be a great chance to see how well Falcon works in practice since he'll be buffed.

I actually sent him a PM with a link to us to make a recruitment post in our thread. Who knows if he reads those. I didn't know about them. His roster/pts/activity sound inline like you said.

I'm only managing to save all that ISO because I got over half of it from this morning push in Doctor's Orders and the rewards that came with it. Plus I'm hoping to dump it into the next new hero or if I ever get enough LThor covers. I'm hoping they drop Daken next if they're still planning on releasing him. I'd even take spidey covers after the rework that should come out soon. Mine has more random cover pickups than BP/Psy have gotten from events icon_e_sad.gif
