I'm not too happy with the structure of this event, particularly the complete lack of sub-events.
First of all, this means a huge reduction of iso, HP and cover rewards compared to other events. But just as important will be the extreme power of rubberbanding we will see. The lack of subs means every single mission will get huge rubberbanding modifier, so it will be borderline impossible to even score top 100 if you aren't playing during the last hour.
It also means we will probably see completely demented scaling.

Just because there isn't subs doesn't mean that the nodes won't change. Every node here (save for the non-repeatable one) will be gone at noon tomorrow. So you have faux subs. However, I believe that the rubberbanding multiplier is often based on the main event anyway, which means functionally this will be nearly identical. You just can't abuse sub timing as much.

Someone want to correct me if I'm mistaken on that?

apparently people are grinding the nodes down to 1... that's pretty insane... anyone who does not have 230 will start to see those quite quickly if the geniuses keep this up...
probably this will end abruptly when nodes are a bit more difficult then pounding at 3 goons...

Sub-event rubberbanding has been based on sub-event leaders for the last few PvEs.

So, yes, it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. It looks like it will be a mad scramble at the very end instead of slowly building a lead (and even then, it was still a bit of a mad scramble at the end.)
  • Could someone give me advice about what to do in this event?

I did most of the missions a couple times when I first played this morning and everything was Easy. Now there are a bunch of Deadly and Hard maps, and the Easy ones don't even get over 100 points per win.

Yeah it seems like every couple of days one of the nodes should have a HP or Event Token reward otherwise its gonna get a long grind for a lot less payout.

If it is just off the main - and I cannot see otherwise as there really only one number in play here, you might as well do nothing for the first 3 or 4 days and just rubber band it. If you cannot do the nodes in the last 90 minutes you have no hope of top 50. Looking at node values it appears max rubber banding is around 8K - will work it out exactly closer to the end of the event to know where I have to place myself in the last few refreshes.

Pretty strange... some guy already at 5900... I am at 4900 and I refuse to grind out the nodes for 50 points a pop... I doubt it anyway if it would allow me to get another 1000 points >.>

Should we start taking bets for how long until the first person asks how long the refreshes are, before refreshes actually happen? Another 20 posts?

If memory serves, during the last Red ISO, the missions switch over after every 12 hour interval. There are no subs.

    Did I remember correctly?

Is it still the same situation here?

What is the bracket size btw?
And we have a winner icon_lol.gif

    That didn't take long lol
  • The points are very weird I just grinned each node down to 1 point I'm 10th in my bracket with 5296 and first place is at 6680. This is some **** if you ask me

Don't grind them down to 1, there's no point right now unless you want to collect all the ISO, just do 1-2 laps and let rubberbanding take care of the rest, don't panick if you see others placing above you, you'll have plenty of time to catch up later

I'm sitting at 5044, not feeling like grinding much either. That's only enough for 32nd in my bracket. Tops is 6667. Crazy.

It's somewhat of a waste to grind heavily right now. Rubberbanding is going to kick in and be crazy, given how the max prog score is 160k and the event is only 6 days.
  • Especially since there don't seem to be big ISO or token rewards, I'm wondering if I should just wait until I see my nodes at round numbers (thus signifying max rubberbanding?) and grinding them down then, finishing with a final 2-hour push at the end of the six days, rather than doing refreshes?

I'm at #1 with 6299, and that's just from hitting (almost) each node once, then grinding down the big nodes to 100 points.

Sigh, I wish the missions displayed expiration times, so I could actually rubberband effectively. I guess we'll figure that out tomorrow.

If a person going just a single lap gets more points then a person who hit the nodes at least 2-3 times, then this is kinda broken system TBH ;-P
should be able to get ~80-90% but not 120-130%

I've done one playthrough of the current set of nodes and now the lower set (mostly goons) are over level 100, when my best team is 70/46/46 - and that's using powered-up 2* characters, not my regular team of even lower leveled 1* chars!

How on earth do I get the enemy levels to go back down? Will tanking help, and does it matter whether I tank in a PVP event or here in the PVE? I'm not interested in "playing optimally", I just want to enjoy the game and score some progression rewards...

Tanking in PvP will not help. However, I've seen several people mention that PvE tanking, i.e. losing PvE fights with **** characters, helps with PvE scaling.

I just don't get how it could've gotten so hard, so quickly. When I started playing, the enemies were around level 50-60; now they're closer to level 150 after only one attack on each node in the event! Is this the development team's idea of good difficulty scaling?

The Simulator event wasn't like this at all. Enemy levels remained more or less constant and I was able to beat the nodes multiple times over the life of the event without any problems. Why is this event different?
