i think i'm at about 60% success, but you do have to babysit by matching away threats, not firing off xforce while the tile is out, and things like that. the biggest help is firing off a power surge with one opponent left - not only do the charged yellow tiles let you cast it next turn, but the opponents aren't able to match away the tile.0
-
Happens all the time with Cap's shield return as well. Turn one ok, turn two good, turn three cascade or 4 match on the same row0
-
I'm right there with you, I jumped on the forum to create a post about Recovery being probably the unluckiest tile in the game! It's pretty ridiculous some of the creative ways that the A.I. has come up with to somehow miraculously takeout the one tile you're trying to protect. It's almost a toss up between Recovery and the general **** placement of DD's Ambush that almost make them worthless. I too wonder what it'd be like with Recovery at 5 just to see the damage it would do versus XForce and Surgical Strike?0
-
I've had X-Force at low health but lots of yellow and dropped 2 tiles at once. Never fails--one tile gets knocked out by a cascade, and then manages to take the other tile with it as part of its own tile-destruction effect. Those things are a magnet for bad luck.
One of the less-obvious synergies between 4*Thor and X-Force is what evil panda mentioned above: the Power Surge stun at either 4 or 5 blue makes X-Force much more likely to end fights at full health from Recovery.0 -
EpicBeastmode wrote:I have to say, if anyone for some odd reason is wondering how to spec xforce, it is indisputably 5/5/3. Everyone that uses xforce knows that his recovery gets matched at such an alarming rate that I have to believe it's in the code and intended that way. We aren't talking about recovery appearing next to an obvious yellow match, the amazing cascades and match 4s that occur to get that countdown tile is like watching a no hitter get broken up in the 9th with two outs. I actually use it now as a damage tile because I know that probably 70% of the time it will get matched one way or another. It's laughable at this point. If the way they were getting matched wasn't so far fetched, I don't think it's even noticeable... What do you guys think? Coincidence or conspiracy?
You're not alone buddy -- this is so true in my observation. The amazing coincidence and remarkable frequency that that one recovery tile gets matched or destroyed leaves you marveling at your ability to experience such improbable statistical adversity and even compels** you to test it over and over. There should be a thread sharing our common tales of woe (or delight) on the incredible ways our recovery tiles got destroyed. It could be called "No Recovery: 1001 deaths of the tile" or something more creative.
So, like you, I now use my recovery tile as a gag prop to test my uncanny ability to experience statistical fat tails, and often set it up in ways that cause a greedy AI enemy to die in the process.
**It's like Roger Ebert's analysis of the movie Owning Mahowny: "Like all addictive gamblers, he seeks the sensation of losing more money than he can afford. To win a great deal before losing it all back again creates a kind of fascination: Such [Recovery tile] gamblers need to confirm over and over that they cannot win."0 -

I think I'm about the same success rate... One thing I have noticed (that I don't know if it's a bug or not) is when you stun an opposing xforce & match his recovery tile, it still behaves as if he wasn't stunned... It's really annoying!0 -
My LCAP CD tiles get matched maybe 10% of the time. I always do low left/right corner of board unless color heavy in that area.0

Yeah, it totally needs buffed. Maybe take 5 cover patch yellow instead.

Hi, I am trying to level up my X-Force now presently at level 190. The problem is I need 109885 iso to level to 233. Say I level up using 10000 iso first, balance should be 99885. Thing is the amount of iso needed keeps going up( next day back to above 100000). Anybody have this happen to them also? Thank you.0

That button on the right will tell you what level you can get to with the amount you have on hand plus the most expensive ISO pack, so while the amount might keep going up, so should the level. It's not a super-useful feature in and of itself.0 -

Why don't that have a level up button as opposed to the holding down the button or a dump all ISO button? It's pretty annoying just holding the button, releasing, and holding again for a couple of minutes.0 -

I have had the misfortune to accumulate a 4/1/5 x force over the previous year (but a fully covered IW )
I can afford to buy a cover, would you recommend 1 green to make him usable? or 1 black to avoid a future duplicate and increased pvp reward odds?0 -

Best of luck to you to compete for PvP 4* rewards without a full xf. That has never been a way for me to get those covers...0 -

Also did you receive the covers from the daily login already?0 -

Thanks for the emphathy. I have gotten my dailys. it's actually worse then you would expect. I've had a total of 7 yellow todate. I can hit 1000 pvp with a fully fleshed 3 star roster. But I think xf will help tremendously0 -

My X-Force is 5/2/2 before dailies. And I didn't buy any covers. When we going to Vegas?0 -
I have been away since July, playing only on 2-3 events since then when I was bored and had nothing better to do. Thankfully, my XF was 5/4/4 before I stopped playing, but hadn't spend any ISO on him because his abilities changed after I left. Now I have enough ISO (190k) to get him to level 200, but I don't think I will invest more on him because it's too much ISO after 200. Is he worth the ISO at that level? People say he is great, but I just see this based on the stats.
At level 200:
- I assume his black deals 4-5k damage most of the time. (Half with the 4 black covers mine has) - On the plus, he drains (essentially) AP
- his green deals ~1200 more than Patch's green, but Patch also drops strike tiles.
- his health is 8154 which isn't much higher than Patch's (6800), considering Patch heals 435/turn without the need to spend AP.
Seeing this, I am hesitant to throw 190K ISO on him. Can someone who has played him at this level provide any feedback?0 -

Mine's at 206:
His Green at level 206 does in the neighborhood of 4200 damage, depending on which tiles he hits. Also massive cascade power.
Wolvie also heals via yellow. It's not as efficient as Patch, but it's enough to keep him alive for a long time.
Biggest issue is 5 black is the game changer. Without the double damage and AP gain, it's still a very good ability, but it's no longer the best ability in the game.
I personally waited to optimally cover him before bringing him up, but there's a whole slew of people out there with 175-200 non-maxed XForce as well who I'm sure don't regret it. Realistically, when you get the 5th black, you're going to level him, so whether it's now or later, that 190k iso will find it's way to him eventually.0
