Fair enough. Here are my node levels right this second for comparison purposes and a data point, at 9 hours left in the event.

  • Lyrian - I have the same exact levels as you.

I will need to boost my last go around to get the pts out of Venezuela and Congo. Sitting at 46.3k pts in 51st place. First place has 50.3K pts. My full refresh hits with 2 hours left in the event. I hope I'm not too far behind to grind to 1st. I read in the event forum that rubberbanding maxes when you are 4k-5k behind the leader. We'll see how this shakes out...

currently at #2 with 50.017 points. Setting my alarm for 5 o'clock for one more run through and hopefully a top 2 finish.

btw. did you guy see the new critical tile?

Derp, I meant 57 for this one. 232 was the number of points it was worth. icon_e_smile.gif

Hilarious. The new graphic is horrible.

Starting to see some community scaling in Unstable Iso-8. Venezuela Showdown is up from 177 to 181. If it gets to 200 I might have to pull the trigger early. I was hoping to play with 2 hours left at my 12 hour refresh, but I can't handle it at much higher levels. First place is hovering around 51k.
  • Just a heads up that the R50 patch fixes a bug with Magneto classic: his purple now does damage per swap, not per blue tile on board. That makes L5 purple pretty clearly a bad move since you're almost never going to have 13 blue AND 13 red. 5/4/4 is ok but 5/5/3 is pretty clearly best now.

I'll be leveling up Ragnarok and Magneto and making a run at one of the red covers in the next villain lightning rounds; hopefully it'll go better than my last attempt.

    Ouch... good to know!

I've tapped those two nodes twice now, before they hit 230. (Venezuela just hit 200)

That put me up to 51k points, which is hovering around the top position. As long as you can clear off the nodes now do so, but leave the Essential nodes for the last second push. If you clear out all of the other nodes, then all of the rubberband will accumulate in the remaining nodes. That's my strategy for this event. If I am very close to the top at the end, I can simply time a well placed Essential win to leap to the top in the waning seconds.

Venezuela and Congo are both at 230 for me since this morning. Haven't had too many issues clearing them with Spidey/OBW/Patch and a 3blue/purple boost to get me going, though. *knock on wood*

First place is around 51k as well for me, and I'm around 47k, but I'm still due a full node refresh in a few hours. Hopefully rubberbanding will help me get up there as well by then.
  • I have a full refresh in 3 hours... my spidey is only at lvl 20 and has 3 blue so the whole stun lock is a little tough for my team. Venezuela is still at 185 for me. I might have to send out my patch, OBW and storm soon, don't know if I can handle lvl 200+ enemies.

I really lucked out with my Spidey, I got 5 blue for him in a relatively short period of time from random token draws, so he was my first viable 3-star. I've used him and 2-star wolvie and Thor before the nerf hit the latter two, and only bothered to level OBW after that. Glad I did, although Best There Is kind of reminded me of how squishy she is. Then again, I do love my glass cannons, and Espionage and strike tiles is a nice combo, since I have Spidey low enough that she covers blue, purple and black for him.

Time for a 3 hour powernap before the final ISO lap. icon_mrgreen.gif
  • Under 3 hours to go. Good luck and Thorspeed, everyone.
  • Hello Chaos League, I would like to join your alliance. I have a solid level 85 two star lineup and good progress towards 3 star teams. I actively read the forums and understand game mechanics such as rubberbanding and node difficulty changes in PVE. In the Unstable ISO-8 event I was ranked 2nd with a minute remaining (but ended up third). The current GSBW event is tough for me since I can't use OBW, but I intend to place top 10.

I sent a join request in-game, hopefully I am the type of player you are looking for.

    Argh, the price of fame!

Ever since we hit the top ten in hollowpoint kiss, our chat has been swamped by join requests. icon_mrgreen.gif

It ain't easy being the prom queen... btw, anyone take a look at S.H.I.E.L.D during Hallowpoint, almost their entire alliance had a score of 1000+.
  • I think that's pretty typical for shield. I've never seen them not #1 and I think they're usually around 18000, so averaging 900 a person. Kind of a lot of grinding and basically requires that you're shielding (maybe multiple times), but hey, shields are cheap when you're taking home 500 hp every 2.5 days.
  • Regarding applications and spam, if we have an extra slot at the end of a tournament, commanders should feel free to add the strongest available roster. We'll kick them out if needed but otherwise they can tag along.

The next contest we run, we'll let the winner stay until the next contest, so that we don't have to deal with spam and constantly rejecting applications.
  • Speaking of next contest... what about a design a forum sig for Chaos League contest?
  • I still have to chase down the winner of the last contest to give him his prize. After that, I'd like to do Chase the Rabbit, although if the villain round rewards are changed the way that the hero ones are, that contest loses most/all of its intended purpose.

Design a sig is a fine idea for a contest. I'm not sure how much participation we'll get, and I personally probably will not use it (I prefer my forum browsing to have as few graphics as possible), but I'm open to running it and seeing what happens.
  • IceIX wrote:We're trying out a change to help out scaling overall starting in Heroic Chapter 3, to go Live very soon.

    - Smoothed scaling over all brackets of PVE rating so that players will see a more gradual bump on enemies
    - Keep in mind that some pins will still be harder than others, this just makes the huge instant bumps less prevalent, although if you join on second one then come in 20 hours later, you should expect to see a change due to Community Scaling.- Smoothed the route back down in PVE rating if you're losing in missions so that enemies will get easier quicker. We've put in brakes however so that you can't just retreat your way to easy-dom.
    - Increased the maximum level of enemies from 230 to 400. >230 enemies are intended to only regularly be seen by those players that are already beating up on 230s.
Increasing the maximum enemy level allows us to provide more challenges for the players that are higher in overall roster level and not create a roadblock where those players that are beating down 230s with ease are making scaling work harder for all the other players who aren't there yet.

How do you guys feel about the new heroic PvE... i'm not too psyched. Of course, cant help myself and will play like always and try to place high, just not overly excited. I'll probably join tomorrow midday.
