how loud do we need to complain about drop rates

Here's some data for you d3.
Last two big boxes, 1 rare in the first and 2 rares in one today all dups.
Enough is enough. I stupidly thought you would do something about your terrible drop rates by now. Lesson learned. Taking my cash elsewhere.0 -
You never fail to disappoint D3. Got a big box today because I knew I would at least get some new EM cards. Got what I expected, only 2 rares, 1 EM, 1 SOI(dupe but I don't mind dupes, just the disappointing exchange for tiny amount of ruins). On the high side of the drop rate for me, most times just get the 1 guaranteed.
I get that you want us to feel excited when we get a mythic but it feels more like "well it's about time they gave me one, tolk 'em long enough" when it does. Plus over half are lack luster or nich enough that you may never use them anyway.
I really hope you can keep those deep pocket players happy or I don't see this app lasting more than a couple years. Sad too, it has such potential and so much work has been put into it. I guess I'm most disappointed in the lack of communication. It makes me feel like you only care about the players for their money. I can't even tell if you guys have looked at this thread since you have moved it out of general discussion, and that was before it reached hot topic level of likes. With so many threads in general discussion that are suggestions and feedback that dont get moved, it's hard to tell if you notice half of whats said in the forums.0 -
Devs are you listening!!! Because people saved up for the new sets your frankly dire drop rates are even more apparent and no card reward for the new event.
Wave bye bye to your revenue stream unless you do something fast or at least say something about this issue.
Also dups are out of control, there are a couple of rares I've had so many times its just turning me off playing.
Ova and out.0 -
Hello everyone.
I play for less than a year and never bought crystals, only change by BBs when they arrive to 600. In this way, already "bought" 2 BBs Origins, 2 Zendikar and one SoI. Analysing the cards I got, I believe, in my case, the ratio M / R / U / C (8/67/213/247) is acceptable.
Another point that is worth mentioning: Sometimes mythical appear in booster packs free. It happened to me twice. If there was some sort of 'complicating' I think it would not be possible.
Anyway, my only suggestion is to make it possible for players to exchange cards with each other. Or, that make possible exchange a mythical / rare repeated by a new 'draw' between mythical and rare.0 -

The main point with this problem is, that we cannot exchange dupes for cards we don't have. I'm trying to get a Defiant Bloodlord for my Sorin.dec as long as the PW is out, but there is no other possibilty than ripping it from a booster. I bought me Alinn Kord, but she is nearly unplayable on lvl. 60, because I don't own any important Werewolves.
They should provide a market for copies. Or give us the possibility to trade some of the cards for others depending on the rarity. Otherwise, it's going to be more and more frustrating for every new set that joins the party.0 -
Btw... how do people get cards!
Started playing a few days ago, what happened to the rune booster pack???
How am i supposed to be able to compete with full mythic decks when i have the basic gideon set!!!0 -
I don't know if they changed anything, but I got a Declaration in Stone out of my free booster and Olivia, Mobilized for War out of 4 EMN boosters. Plus i felt like I got some more uncommons than usual.
Having said that, I still feel they should fix the amount of cards at each rarity in boosters like in paper. Switch to 6 card booster packs with every booster containing 1 rare or better, 2 uncommons and 4 commons.0 -
I think adding the ability to craft specific cards using some resource gained from deconstructing duplicate cards (whether crystals, runes or something new) would make the drop rate much more palatable. Many online collectible card games offer this option such as Hearthstone, Solforge, Shadowverse, etc.
I believe players that would otherwise be spending money on this game are not because the odds of getting anything useful from a big box right now is so low. Especially for players that have many cards and maxed out planeswalkers, which are likely the players that would otherwise be most likely to put money into the game.
It feels really bad to get a duplicate rare or mythic and extremely disappointing when that's all you get from a big box. After that feeling we are not likely to pay to get another. It would feel much better if it could be viewed as progress towards crafting a mythic you don't have. Even if it required ten or more rare duplicates to craft one mythic.0 -
Thats not a bad idea but I would expect 10 mythic fragments to one non dupe mythic, 4 mythics for rare, 2 for uncommon, 1 for 2 common. Double for rare fragments.0

Here's my 2 cents in haiku form:
Big Boxes are dumb,
4 in a row no mythics,
Don't waste your money.0 -
I just bought the new special for $50.
I got 6 rares, half of them duplicates, so really only got 3 rares. And no Mythics.
$50 on this, with only a couple cards of use. Pretty harsh.0 -
To be blunt - I won't pay for dupe cards.0
-
I was going to buy my first BB. I was going to get SoI/EMN, but with all the issues of people getting the same stuff all the time, I decided I'd rather have Sarkhan so I could build BR Vamps.
After getting 2 of the same card from a free booster, I'm a little turned off buying packs.0 -
OK, so I thought maybe I've been unfair.
I only have 1/3 of the cards being F2P and getting 1 of each big box with reward crystals.
There's cards left I'd like to get and PWs too.
I threw in $100 and got some big boxes.
Nothing but dupes & trash.
Learn from my example.
If that's the way it is then they deserve nothing.

Yes, I'm being brutally honest.
If you wonder why people are rage quitting and those that stay are not buying anything -
it's because this is the experience you've created.
You'd have to pay an outside company to find out what we're telling you for free.
Fix it or watch income continue to shrink.0 -
I see we got some mods actually on the MtGPQ forums. Could we get something on this thread plz.0
-
Same experience here. Bought a big box, got two rares and a ton of dupes. Won't be spending more real cash on this game.0

Olivia in the fat pack. No complaints from me.0

Guys, the entire premise of this thread is wrong!
The only reason this game is fun is because not everyone can have every single card even with unlimited money and/or time! Honestly, why would you spend your time grinding events or QB if you didn't have some hope of hitting a new exciting card.
Not only that, but if everyone had Drowner, Aurora, BTB, etc the game would just be flooded with the "optimal" deck and there would be very little fun to constant mirror matches.
Unlike paper magic where the balancing is really solid and there are lot of viable options, this game restricts deck size massively and has very little depth in mechanics, which results in superior cards/strategies. I promise if everyone had exactly the same cards, the game would be even less fun not more.
At least until D3 gets the balancing of cards right, which doesn't seem to be a priority
Edit: Let me add that a guaranteed prize, rather than a random red mythic in QB would be good.0 -
babar335, I think you are confusing drop rate with dup rate. There are many people in this thread wanting to change the argument to a lower dup rate but i have stated many times in this thread how that would ruin the game. Instead the premise of the thread is drop rates.
Even if the drop rate is "every pack comes with a mythic" there would still be no guarantee of getting every mythic no matter how many packs you open.(though that would be much more rare and ruin the game with too many mythics floating around). In it's current state there seems to be the slim possibility of never getting a mythic from a pack no matter how many you open. Creating some sort of guarantee would both keep new players playing and drive spending.
The best idea I've found would be to add a meter to fill where every BB you open it fills a portion of the meter. Once the meter is full your next BB contains a mythic and when you get a mythic from a BB the meter resets. This would give us all something to work towards and look forward to.0
