Do not join the PvE early; there are no subs which means plenty of rubberbanding off the overall leaders in the last days. Joining on the very last day is probably not the safest idea though because it can be changed to no rubberbanding on the last day. So join somewhere between the middle of the event and the last day and play minimally to keep your scaling low until the last push you can afford to make. Whatever progression overall leaders achieve by the moment you join, you should be able to get, too.
In other news, we missed top 100 for Psylocke by 85 points but I do hope we can manage a top 100 for red Captain in Fresh Cut (he's very, very good for PvE, his maxed red hits for 6000+ when buffed, so virtually 6000+ damage for 1 AP spent) and a top 100 for Captain Marvel in the PvE itself. Getting new characters is very important for other events to follow as those that played without She-Hulk in Dark Avengers: Heroic can attest to. - Kudos by the way, still can't believe we made it!
The new Season prize is welcoming for less alliance competition, I would hope, but the season prize is simply a bonus anyway which can be ignored this time completely. Let's play for our individual goals, alliance covers and ISO/HP. I am happy to know that I'm not the only one who likes the feeling of helping newer guys with less developed rosters. And the vets can surely use help, too!
I ask everyone to play to at least 300 pts and the event token progression if you are going to play an event at all. 600/1800 is not strict but a bare minimum of 300 points per an event is very much desired. We need the top 100 title and corresponding rewards not because I'm vain or someone else is vain, but because someone always needs the alliance covers as we have a *lot* of amazing members still in transition If we stumble upon an event that literally no one needs the alliance cover from, that's another matter, but by default top 100 it is.
Thanks, take care, enjoy the summer!
I used the last event to Tank my MMR to get a good start in the upcoming season ( before we knew it was IW )
I agree that with summer time and Holidays upon us, (and a not so desirable season prize,) its better to all take it easy and have fun with this Season rather than burnout in what is clearly meant to be a "summer Holidays" Season prize. (Whilst sticking to the 300 minimum, unless needing to Tank, which we all need to do from time to time.) I will aim for the 5000 point 10 pack prize
The PVE ends as usual at an unfriendly time for EU, So whilst I will put in my usual fair share of points, the rubber banding at the end (when EU are sleeping) means a top 50 Individual score is very difficult, So I also hope to get at least the alliance cover.
Thanks Locked for you alliance hard work, I know Its much appreciated by us all0 -

Great post by Lyrian, as usual. Maybe it will help some understand why Unstable Iso-8 feels so grindy:Lyrian wrote:DrUnpleasant wrote:As of this morning there was just 2100 points covering 1st and 100th place in my bracket. That's stupid. End of.
The way this entire event has been going leads me to feel fairly confident that for a week long event it's all going to come down to my alarm going off at FUN 'O' CLOCK (3:30am, maybe 4am) for the final hour long grind.
Not great.
This is what always happens when event scores are allowed to rubberband off the global event leader for extended periods of time.
The longer this occurs, in combination with slowing point gains as a result of level creep, results in everyone obtaining the same score in the end.
The inevitable conclusion is that the winners of the event are those that are able to win the difficult nodes in the last 30 minutes of the event. Everything else before then really doesn't matter because the global leader cannot pull away ever from the pack because the everyone else's rubberband is based off him/her. Thus, the harder the leader works to keep the lead, the easier it becomes for everyone else to catch him/her.
Case in point: I am able to keep up with the leaders (within reason [Top 20-50]) without ever touching the insanely leveled nodes because of rubberbanding and grinding the essentials and easier nodes.
Btw in case it doesn't look like our alliance can secure top 100 (I sure hope we can, but it's too early to tell at the moment. More like when there are 8-10 hours left), try to secure an individual cover for yourself, because there probably won't be a PvP with Captain Marvel prizes until the next Story event that requires Captain Marvel ends. Same story as with She-Hulk and Oscorp: Heroic, when half of our alliance didn't have the required cover (and still did great!). Having a required cover greatly facilitates your MPQ life, though0 -
I unwisely started right when the event started, and it's an unpleasant bracket - I think I have about 31k, and I'm in 800th or so place! Aieee! I will hopefully have some time tomorrow to get a few points.0

I love you guys, we secured the alliance cover for everyone in Unstable Iso-8 including our European friends who may not have been lucky with their brackets, thus their effort surely didn't go in vain!
Now that event felt incredibly grindy especially if you joined early/played a lot before the last day, but that's the flawed structure for ya. As far as I know, only few events have this structure and hopefully it will stay rare or will be completely scrapped even, as the final hour rush may be fun to some, but it usually isn't Thanks again for your dedication! Man I think I am forgetting times when PvE was much easier than PvP!0 -
This panther PvP will be hell on wheels0

Hi..............0

Heads up:
Sir Phobos left due to his unwillingness to pressure other members to play harder for his benefit and left to join a more hardcore alliance where individual pressure could be less.
I asked Spider-Man to temporarily join us for the Deadpool's PvE, hope everyone is able to at least get some personal covers, but we'd better try for our European friends who may get the short end of the stick thanks to end times. Let's show our temporary helper that we can push with a member on vacation!0 -
Looking to join guys. Usually always have 600+ on pvp0
-
I'm really sorry about my bad management of Valek's vacation - he did ask to be removed if needed back then when he first mentioned his vacation, but then I went and promoted him again and forgot to ask him to step down. Heh, didn't think Greece had SUCH poor wi-fi coverage. Don't they say Greece has everything?
But yeah, from now on Commanders (including me, obviously), are encouraged to step down (not leave, just step down) if going on lengthy vacations - in case of emergency, of course, and no one is ever going to just be kicked and lose their spot thanks to going on a well-deserved vacation.
And while we're at it, should I create a recess alliance perhaps? For when a member is on vacation/feeling temporary burnout/is unable/unwilling to play for covers they don't need? We have quite a few members with maxed out 3* rosters by now. I am also willing to find other temp top 250 alliances for such instances, but managing my own private alliance would be easier for me and less hassle for everyone (just one other alliance name to keep in mind). I will also try to keep a closer look at everyone's cover needs and better determine when we need top 100 (almost always of course) and when it's time to relax and for those who need the covers, to get hired out temporarily.
Cheers!0 -
Servers are up!
On the recess alliance, while my cover needs have gotten a lot better since joining (thanks to everyone for being such a great team!) I'm not at a point where I'd need one so that doesn't worry me either way. If there is a need from our more complete roster-having folks and it's not too much trouble may not be a bad idea just not something I personally need atm.0 -
Daily player
Top 25 in season 3 and 4
Top 25 in thor, patch and blackpanther events in season 5
Need an allaince with top and daily players0 -
Trying to apply for the open spot, when searching Just you guys don't appear in the results. Only a bunch of 5 or 6 man allowed alliances, any ideas?0

Cheers, good luck in finding a nice alliance!0 -
i understand you guys have someone until the end of unholy outlaw but if they dont want to stick around afterwards i would be interested in applying for the open sot. let me know.0
-
i understand that you have someone hanging out for the remainder of the hood event but i would be interested in joining if they dont want to hang out longer0

mickeypbr is that player that will most probably join us once Category-5 ends.
In other news, we have WS206 and meamkatz as our newest recruits to fill the void that SirPhobos and CapnJoe left. Hope you like being in a top 100 alliance, guys Don't overkill yourself, but remember that covers is the reason for an alliance to stay together... well, blackjack and hookers too0
