  • I have to say bye to the nice folks of [Just] alliance and (not so nice) MPQ. With the changes to PvE and PvP in the recent months, the game started to demand too much commitment. And thus we have to part ways. I have been in similar situations before, with other online games. And I have learned that an early exit is less painful than a late one.

So, once again, bye folks, it have been a blast. But it's time to find another time-waster... and start having a blast with it icon_e_ugeek.gif

    Welcome, Frubzy, feel at home!
  • Welcome aboard Frubzy!

I will be out of town for the next week or so. I might be able to login once or twice day but I doubt I'll have time for more than a fight or two when I do so.

Good luck to you guys while I'm out of town.
  • Take care, soratami (if you drop by to read the board)!

    And welcome Frubzy!

Good luck soratami and it was nice while it lasted.
Welcome to the Frubzy (thought it was Furby when I first read it, heh)

Just as a heads-up for other alliance members (which you probably already know about): if you haven't updated the app yet, DON'T DO SO until the end of the PVE; I foolishly did, and most of my PVE nodes now feature doubled (in some cases more, some less) enemy levels.
  • Welcome Furby! ( yeah i know i say it wrong but at least i remember you now! icon_e_wink.gif )
    My device auto updated...pfff..Hello lvl 290 Mags-Hood.
And i also think my alliance chat is down....(or you guys ignore me)
  • I'm back from my trip and I should be back to my normal play times starting tonight or tomorrow.

Lol, the [Just Bust Lust] Alliance. A substantial portion of the interwebz seems devoted to just such a thing. ^.^

All lulz aside that's a pretty cool banner.

    Heads up:
    - Rhedd is leaving us to work on his book (The best of luck! Hope to see your work!).
    - We are most probably out of the running for top 100 in Iso-8 Brotherhood, but since it's IM 40, it's okay.
    - We missed top 100 in Category-5 (came 150), I will go find a recruit and remind you that this is a top 100 alliance which needs 600-650 points per member to stay top 100 in tournaments. You are welcome to take a break but when it's groups of 4-5 taking a break simultaneously, it's harsh.
If you have been locked out of the event like TooBad, submit a ticket to CS, not sure it would help now, but you should.
    - Also reminding everyone that the PvP reward structure has been overhauled and you are now able to get 100 HP through progression (up to 800 points), 2 event tokens (up to 900 points) and top 5 players receive 4 3* covers (3 individual, 1 alliance placement). If you score top 25, you get all 3 covers (2 individual, 1 alliance) and 50 HP on the top of progerssion 100 HP, and top 25 rarely needs shielding, too!
    - Attention, all 2* players: if you want to max out a 3* character, try waiting until you can max out at least 2 solid 3* characters as the game might begin offering you 212-141-141 opposition otherwise. Any two of the current top would work (Punisher, LT, LD, Patch, Magneto, Hood, Sentry if you're lucky, etc.)
    - Should we get a Facebook page so that everyone can stay updated without logging in or having to read the alliance chat?
  • I am a little worried about our current status. This is definitely something we can bounce back from, but we're gonna hafta actually put some work into it.

I do have a proposal to make. I think we need to have the threat of being replaced. We have a few players that consistently score in the area of 300 points. The cooldown on leave/join for alliances is 1 hour. I wanna recommend that all of us that are commanders (except locked, obviously) leave then re-join so as to lose our commander status and therefore immunity to booting. Because, let's be honest, there are those among us that need to do better or get kicked.

Well, thanks for saying that for me, Joe.

The best feeling in the world for me, as a mostly maxed player now? Seeing how other players transition to 3* successfully and have a great time at that. (And getting every new cover myself, too! Duuuuh icon_e_biggrin.gif)
We only missed a new cover once (Mororo in Thick as Thieves) and are going to miss top 100 in Iso-8 Brotherhood which is whatever (my IM is 2/5/3, folks!), but we have been on the verge of falling out of top 100 quite a few times already.

Many alliance mates could use the yellow Spidey cover, including our latest good scorer Frubzy. I keep scoring top 10-25 every tourney despite rarely having rewards I can use. TooBad scores 1100+ regularly and made an amazing push in Unholy Outlaw in the very last minutes from 1100 to 1200+ to help us get top 50 for extra HP; it didn't happen thanks to a quite a few low scores, edguh not showing at all despite logging in daily, etc. It's called an alliance because we are allies and are out for each other, not just ourselves.

I think that the desired scores should be as follows: 600-650 points average per event, or better (doesn't have to be 600 every event, can be 300 + 900, for example), and some PvE activity, too (enough for a new character cover, some old characters are always welcome as we don't exactly consist of maxed out rosters with the exception of few).

When we were starting, we didn't have to put pressure on our members and scores were naturally high; the alliance competition wasn't as crazy, the tanking was easy. Now, the game has shifted significantly; those same members that keep scoring low points report having difficulties (MMR hell, 212-141-141 opposition, tanking not working, rewards not being enticing, just no-shows with no warning at all, etc.). I would hate to use threats and would rather use motivation.
But if any of you are feeling that you can't be the top 100 alliance material anymore, I would appreciate it if you admitted that and didn't let those who keep consistent scores miss out on covers and better rewards, because that's the point of the game for us still sticking to it.
I believe that most players in our alliance are willing to do what it takes; if you aren't, I beg you to ask yourselves: do you need to be in a top 100 alliance but not have a roster to show for it thanks to missing covers and rewards?
  • Sorry to interrupt.

    1. Afaik cooldown is 15mins when leaving alliance, 1hr when kicked out of alliance.

    2. I think You shouldn't be afraid of saying "goodbye" to some members who are slacking constantly. We did it just recently and it really made everyone happier. Each of the players should be able to be honest with him/herself - "damn, it's because of me 19 other people don't get those covers. maybe I should leave...?". Otherwise they are egoistic and that's the second reason to kick them.

    Just my 3 cents.

You wouldn't want to see me angry, I'm afraid I'm quite ugly when angry, so the best acceptable course of action would be underperformers suddenly getting their game up, or giving up Commander rank and letting us recruit fresh blood.
I'd rather quit my own alliance and become a freelance agent for some other major alliance than have to constantly police grown up people because they don't play a match-3 game hard enough (SEE HOW SILLY THIS IS I DON'T EVEN).

Emeryt, thanks a lot, we are mostly Commanders (I promoted even those that never had to buy a slot). It's deeper than that as even some original Commanders are finding the game very unenjoyable now.

I am on Facebook under name Yelena Belova (have a Bagspy profile pic). Add me plox, I can't start a group until I have friends it seems. FB won't be compulsory, just so that all my incessant babbling in alliance chat doesn't hide actual important info.
