  • syrnory has joined Hot Shot. But no news on the Alliance Chat nor here.

If they remain MIA, I think we should do it the hard way, else it's not fair to the rest in the Alliance. If there is a notice stating a period of break, we could understand
  • Hi everyone, I'll be out of town from Sunday to Wednesday, and I apologize in advance for the likelihood of scoring less than usual in Heroic Mode.

I'll still try to play, but I won't be able to time refreshes optimally. I might join late and rely on rubberbanding to get more points with less play. Is that a good or bad idea?

I tried my best but it's just an exercise in futility for me on the current Heroics. My team keeps getting wiped out and I don't have enough health packs to keep trying. Gonna play casually for this round of Heroics... not to mention the rewards for easy is just 70, 100, 200 ISO and Standard Token. Not worth boosting at all.

no problem bot. just take the opportunity to "relax" icon_e_biggrin.gif

Yikes, sounds like Heroic Mode is a serious pain in the ****. I have 8 health packs saved up, so I guess I'll see how many points I can get on the last day with full rubberbanding before I run out.
  • Hey all,

New guy here (just joined yesterday). I must say big ups to Pucco for building this alliance out of his own pocket as well as to KidIcarus for his sagely advise.
Not to take anything away from power-players like kenstar, justicebot, laoahpeh, jazz! Lets all continue this path in maintaining this alliance's high standing and quality!

PS: Venom Heroic is a huge PITA. Gonna do 1 full clear and wait to maximise rubber-banding on the essential HT nodes.
PSS: Im totally **** for Bad is Good tourney. tempted to pump my remaining iso into ares + rag + daken but im gonna lose out on maxing my patch then... icon_e_sad.gif

This is to kidicarus. I hope I didn't mess up your drive to 1100 on Hotshot. You helped put me over 1200 and I figured the retaliation value you would get would be worth a lot more than the points amount I got from you.

    Bad is good

    Required characters:
Ares, Bullseye, Daken, Venom, Moonstone, Ragnarok, Venom & Yelena

The first time I opened up the events tab, I was met with this pvp tab and i remember looking at my roster consisting of IM35, Mstorm, MWidow and thinking what the hell i can't do this event. I'm now 124 days into the game and i still don't have a competitive roster for this pvp event. If you have a high level ragnarok, moonstone, daken and ares this event should be easy as pie.

My highest is Ares at 65, venom maxed at 40 and everyone else is 20ish and below. Well I don't intend to spend much iso on levelling them up (maybe get some of them up to 30 max) so instead i'll spend my efforts on shield training tanking. The effect of this will hopefully reduce my MMR to n00b levels and I'll report on how successful this is. I urge anyone who doesn't have a strong dark avengers roster to do this (actually it's strongly recommended even if you do have a strong dark avengers roster)
  • well, im stup enough to level my moonstone max when i was still new. pays off in this event. great help to eat down opponents' huge hp (even bigger than ares' sunder). that is if the board has a lot of reds. icon_lol.gif

I'm about to max my Lazy Thor within next week.

My question is, who next to pump ISO into every now and then?
    Punisher 3/5/5: lvl 115
    BP 5/3/4: lvl 110
    Hulk 5/3/5: lvl 105
    Patch 4/4/5: lvl 80

My Spidey is at 0/5/3 and Mags at 2/3/2. Steve Rogers is at 3/5/5 so I'm considering pumping some ISO into him as well since he's fully covered. Any suggestions?

Edit: Mostly leaning on Hulk and Punisher. Hulk with LT for defense, while Punisher for offense. What do you guys think?

I don't think anyone is actually afraid of the hulk in defense. He might have a lot of hit points but everyone just attacks him last and usually wait till they can finish him off in one turn. On offense, his offensive powers are expensive and lets face it you're never going to use red so he's just there to tank when you know the AI is going to fire off an ability.

Punisher is actually a pretty good all rounder, his abilities are cheap and an underestimated punisher can do quite a lot of damage. Also, you'll see immediate benefit in army of one tournament so he's a pretty decent short term investment since you have him quite high already and he really does fit into a lot of different team setups. also the 5 red may be useful in pve...

I think lazy cap is a decent long term investment since you have him fully covered and I think ultimately if you're playing a no holds barred tournament, a max level LT, lazy cap and BP sounds very intimidating to me - although it isn't the fastest offensive team.
  • Kens, if i were you, i will level patch.

It might be just me, but i think pun lvl 100 is enough for even 230s in the pve as long as i have spidey and mag mn with me. Not sure about 400s though (and i dont ever want to know icon_lol.gif )

I dont see immediate need for you to level up. Maybe you want to spare enough iso for falcon?

OK thanks! My punisher is 125 for now... will alternate levelling patch/punisher and then falcon/lazy daken. lols icon_e_smile.gif

Edit: How about this as a squishy team to underestimate - patch/hood/falcon
  • Hi all,

There are few things about recent the hunt PvE that need to be highlighted here:

    1. Don't tempted to play too much or the scaling will get to you (to check how high is your scaling, you can check the goon's level in Top of The World node in your main bracket. By the time i'm writing this, my goon's level is at 113)

    2. Set aside "only" 1-2 hours a day to play the pve, once each per node. Don't go more than this. If you are already the no 1 in your main, just stop playing.

    3. Use all of your roster! i've been clearing up nodes with MN mag and c.storm and i'm having a blast doing it. If one of them downed. I just substitute with others.

    4. Don't stunlock and heal! i repeat, do not stunlock + heal. i think that's the big trigger to raise up your scaling level. you can stunlock, you can heal, but not both at the same time.

    5. Haven't tried this, but some say that you should kill your team at the essential nodes (the ones with required characters) to lower the scaling level.

    6. I hope many of you join the main bracket at off-peak US hour because the ending times not so favourable to us(implies to those who live in Asia).

    7. Falcon is undoubtedly a very good support and can fit in with many characters. Competition will be fierce.

If anyone has anything to add, please do so. icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Good luck guys!

this is one of the more frustrating pve i remembered. 9 days of grinding. 1-2 hrs is not enough for me to run thru all the nodes. or maybe i just play slow

I find it quite reasonable time unless I have those level 200++ DA. Maybe cos I got a maxed LT who can tank for all the colors except OBW's. My team of LT/M.Storm/OBW does quite well for most of the fights, even the hard ones... but it's still quite painful especially if Ares is involved.

Hey guys, Season 1 Pvp is finally here, lasts for 25 days, which translates to 10 Pvp tourney.

About the alliance reward, don't get too excited about Nick Fury because it's gonna take very long for any of us to be using him effectively in a battle. While his ability is quite an improvement compared to other legendary, essentially he's still a trophy.

For placement reward, heroic 10-pack certainly excites us in some way, but think about it... how much 3* (that you need) you can get? if you do well in pvp (as we always do), you can have 30 3*s, 2000 hp and 35k-50k iso. So don't take that placement rewards too seriously guys, you wont be needing it because all of you will get so much stronger by next month.

All in all, the rewards are great, but it serves us as an additional to what we currently have.

As always, we aim for top 100. (we always ends up around top 20 anyway icon_e_biggrin.gif )

So here's what we gonna do:
    1. Focus your mind on one tourney at a time. If we manage to get to top 50 for every tourney, we should have nick fury by next month.
    2. Spend your iso wisely, if lone star skirmish, bad is good or divine champion is back, you gonna be forced to level 1*, 2* and the dark avengers.
    3. 1 additional thing to do is that we need to maintain good score for SHIELD versus as well. That's probably the only extra thing that we need to do.

Good luck guys! and dont forget to watch lots of movies in may icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • In short, do what we have been doing (read: good work) and take the season prize as a bonus.

speaking of lone star. I sold off all my 1* because of lack of roster space. I think I should open new slots or sell some of my 2*

guys - you can concentrate on the PVP events like HPK first and only concentrate on SHIELD vs more towards the end, unless you are like me and prefer to have some ISO to level up characters.

If you don't need the ISOs, I think better to hold back so that your MMR doesn't go too high. From my observation not many people have joined HPK and SHIELD vs as my paltry 642 total score is getting me a #62 placement in Season 1 for now.
