  • We have only 17 active players now - cant say Copps is playing at all and recently peloos and champion9782 stopped playing. Imo this is a problem. Cause usual we can do good even with inactive players, but when active players doing a break/cant play its hard to mantain good position when 5+ peoples are doing nothing. So we should find out why they stop playing and ask bout their future. If cant get any answer from them then...well, look for a replacements...
  • I think we should seriously reconsider some changes in our line-up...

No hard feelings. Just a way to make everyone satisfied.

Maybe ask around what people are planning for season 3?

I'd be willing to stick it out if I can do the bare minimum (ie: 500/700 pvp points) in some events where I don't need the covers, as to avoid burnout. Right now the game feels too much like a chore, although the current cmags pvp is more fun than I expected.

    I agree with Anubis.
  • If we change the lineup, I think we should give preference to the older members. Both champion and copps, although currently inactive, have done a lot for the alliance in the past.
  • The last page of conversation didn't make me exactly happy.

I looks like the alliance either completely loses its aim or fails to be honest about it.

I wrote about this way back, as season 1 was finishing and the alliance to chose its path: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4531&start=80#p145942

With much time passed the message gets more confused instead of getting clear.

Meanwhile the game switched 2 gears from the already overheated state, now all I see is completely insane grindfest; requirement to repeat the same set of nodes 2 dozen times at least taking most of the day and in pvp use shield for the whole run length.

I have the feeling that even our main grindmaster Phantron reached the point he calls it nuts and maybe drag on but no longer for some good reason. Just as part of supposed WORK description.

Certainly whoever just wants all the covers possible to extract is right and absolutely should seek a full hardcore alliance with 20 members with the very same aim and nothing else. In MPQ there is no such thing as "semi-casual". Or whatever we call that is out of top100 alliance covers by definiton -- might pick a random one here and there but the baseline is not that. Where top250 is good still may work but 100 clearly requires hard work, way beyond the point where the *play* itself can be fun for a non-robotic entity.

Just make the simple count: in the 24h sub you're supposed to clear the node 10 times in prep + 5 in the end, 15 times overall. Multiply that with required number of nodes -- something 4-7, and that is a single f-nkg sub out of 6. And then we have the main table. With another 8 nodes to play 35 times each. Even if you cut back a lot, like ignore the subs completely it's still some insane amount of repeats -- and with cut-back you reduce the diversity too, so the boredom part is the same.

All that work is possibly worth it for those who take much joy in winning one more round of the same or happy to have the prize -- or just can't allow to miss it -- for others it's just the work, and really the "investment" of time into something that does not look like loving us back. Anytime soon at least.

I thing we really need some clear water in the glass, starting with question who really leads the alliance now, as even that is quite fuzzy at the moment. And we need a very clear direction on the aim. So those in the alliance have a fighting chance to get what they are after really -- either the covers or the peace of mind to play in actually casual way without strings attached. If we further try to ride the two forces at once, it will be just continued disappointment -- more to those who fall on the worse end but from that part no one will get left out.

IUC we have some people who just not show up lately without stating anything -- that is really not the best behavior and may be ground to ejection, might even boost our score for immediate events, but we shall not turn our back to the root problems again and just apply the wishful thinking that enough points will just get created by those actually show up playing at the moment.
  • Hello,
Sorry for being not active player lately. Unfortunately I had really, really tough week in my job and...not only there. Regarding to this I have to resign from my membership in Your alliance. Thanks for accepting me in, and I wish You all much fun from playing playing MPQ.

Personally I'm hoping against all hope that D3 will figure out that the current refresh system for PvE is utterly, utterly terrible, and fix it. Because I agree, this kind of chore is beyond fun. And yes, I'm still teetering on the edge of calling it quits myself. The only two things holding me back is that indirect (ie: pauseable) PvP is ideal when you have young kids who can interrupt you at any given time, and because I actually really like the MPQ community.

As for the alliance in general, I think the mission statement has pretty much been 'as long as we get that alliance cover in events, it's all good'. And I still think that for most PvP events, we can achieve that with two or three players putting in a token effort (as Emeryt said, 300 points takes maybe one or two hours of play) and sitting things out after that. But the problem at the moment is that it's always the same couple of members (and that's certainly not you, pasa) who don't or barely participate in events, and therefore deny others the chance to 'sit one out'. After BP and Starfall I was pretty fried, and would have preferred not to play the Mags event because a: I don't need Patch covers and b: I have a low-level Mags, which at my MMR leads to a target on my back (although my L 130 Hulk and L115 Daken on defense have proven to be something of a deterrent, fortunately). But when I know three members will already not or barely be playing, that opportunity disappears.

PvE is a different beast altogether... and I have no idea how to handle that. Anubis really, really wants that black Storm, and since he is always a top scorer I feel he deserves that, and wouldn't mind having it myself, because if I do keep playing I see her becoming a must have character. But I also agree that the current insane grind is unreasonable.

But we do need a mission statement of sorts, I agree. How many points do we want/need on average per event to stay in the top 100? How many people can be allowed to sit out an event with a minimal score for us to retain that goal, and is everyone else okay with picking up that slack, knowing that they can take a turn to the side if necessary? And most of all, what do we use for coordination/communication on this? The forum thread? The Alliance chat? (and yes, I'm purposefully avoiding mentioning Facebook since I don't have one and have no intention of getting one).

Once we have that, we can figure out who wants to leave for a more hardcore group, or who wants to leave for an even more casual group. That's just my 2 cents on the matter.

    Reputation -2. No thank you.

The way I see it - I want the alliance to ALWAYS secure alliance cover for its members. BUT not by 5-6 people who will constantly get 900pts in each PvP.

I want 20 people who are fully aware what the words teamwork and team effort stands for. I don't expect us to go all hardcore, I just want everybody to know his role in our alliance and to fullfill the expectations ( = being top100 alliance).

If most of the people agree with me - then we will continue as the scAvengers. And we will probably say goodbye to some people.

As for Copps - I think we should kick him for now (which requires me cotacting CS) and if he'll ever come back to daily play, I'll be more than happy to accept him back.

PM him and start the process -- probably CS will react slowly so if he turns up just loses the captainship waht is a good thing for people not be around.

Hey everyone sorry for my current prolonged absence I've told emeryt but should share with everyone else as well that im currently working in a bush camp with no cell service. I should me moving camps in 3-4 days to one with service and will hopefully be able to contribute better again. I'm in town right now grinding up what points I can for TaT if people want though just let me know and I'll drop the spot so you can fill it with someone more productive until I can be a full time player again.
  • How are we doing in PvP? I have only around 300pts and I don't know if I have to hurry on my way from work to catch a few fights?

For those unaware - Rathi joined us. He might not have an impressive roster, but I know His dedicated and will do His work.
Changing peloos to Him let us jump about 50spots in PvE and now we're safely in top50.

JohnDoeNL - can this buddy of yours join us before the end of PvE? I'm awaiting answer from champion, but if I don't get it till evening, the spot will be open for Your buddy.

Anubis - are You staying after S2 or is Your decision final?

We're 67th in the pvp. Should be fine for top 100, I think.
  • Hi to all,

I'm feeling terrible about all these events. If I talk about leaving was just because I didn't wanted to make anyone push harder. Yesterday I saw how everybody started pushing like titans, just to get into top 100, that was killing me icon_redface.gif so I said that would be a good idea to remove a meber that didn't play for a long time just to avoid that everybody gets burned grinding (included me, I were pushing everyday PvE and PvP). If that teammate comesback later I would leave him my place with the best of the smiles icon_e_wink.gif

I feel superb playing with you guys, I'm not looking for a hardcore alliance that is always top 10, I just enjoy this game and my only pretention is to get the alliance cover and contribute as much as I can.

If all of you want me to stay It would be an honnor. If anyone wants me out I will leave.

    Anubis at your service icon_e_wink.gif

Best change your sig as far as I'm concerned then. icon_evil.gif

No need for that 'until the end of season II'. icon_lol.gif

  • Ok, so we have one thing clear.

Does anyone plan to leave after Season2?

As long as it's okay that I probably won't be able to put in more than a basic effort (300-500 points) on weekends, I'll happily stick around.
