  • Man, I admire your consistency, in moment when I got 45k and purple Daken I lost all my motivation.

Edit: Ooops, I still have my sig from X-Poles icon_e_smile.gif

I have to admit I'm fine with top 20 for PvE. As soon as we start getting Fury covers for first place, I'll consider actually grinding instead of rubberbanding like a champ and actually shooting for first place, but right now those X-Force covers don't seem worth the effort.

I'm mad enough to wake up at 5 am to give us a shot in the arm for the sub, though. I'd like to stay in the top 50 for that one.

I think i'll be mostly focusing on PvP this season. The top guy in my bracket has 4358 points right now. I have 2972... but I haven't started playing the simulator yet. I should have a very fair shot at first place if this keeps going this way. It's nice not to share a bracket with Slobofix.
  • I just did some serious grinding, with a plan to do more (up to 1pointers) near the end. But just got to #28 and I see that #23 is 4k pts above, so no point in grinding really. No top20 for me. But that was understandable, I was absent for past 24hrs and what's more I didn't know about the rb change till near the end of first sub.

And our alliance has rather safe top50.

Btw - after the reward distribution for Prodigal Sun we say farewell to andy1110 (a.k.a Mithrin) and say hello again to pasa_.
  • Hi everyone, I'm back on (this) board.

The end of last PVE was really wild, resembled the old days when we made #2 and then #1 ... just it was about not falling out of the top100. Actually it was even more fierce having more climbers and really close range in points. And we succeeded too. icon_e_smile.gif

Personally I couldn't catch up to the top20, probably finished on #21 -- it was like chasing the foot of the rainbow. But it's a small wonder I even got there, I barely played the subs after the first set and planned to ignore the event having just like 35k points starting the last thing. But it grew on me and as the 45k got closer I found some new urge to play.

Most of the motivation came from the actually interesting battles -- some of them I'd call pervert even, green-feeding wolvie and hulk? come on! -- each needed some different approach and I tried several teams on them too. The levels could have been little lower to feel comfortable, by the end mine were ~240 and 200-ish in the essentials (where 8-cover daken was not that helpful). On the bright side never suicided my folks -- some died quite naturally.

On other notes, I switched the healing node, now use the lowest on the Dark Avengers with 35 pyro/grenadier/lut. Starting the kill with pyro it hardly ever fails to get the yellows and fairly good chance to get 15U too while not posing considerable threat, I even allow pistols to resolve on SM many times as it brings new tiles and only 300... Though the heal limit of 1600/2300 (lvl96SM) is PITA compared to the likely full heals.
  • Hi everyone too and wellcome back pasa icon_e_biggrin.gif,

I will be abroad from may 30th to june 2nd. I'm pushing hard at current PVP and will do it until I leave tommorrow but without shielding (will remain more that 24 hours icon_cry.gif ).

I'm sure you will perform fine without me until I come back icon_e_biggrin.gif

When will the bracketing go back to flat time or luck without any nudges based on profile data?
Possible but unlikely that it will go back to an unbucketed state. It's more likely that we'd poke at the heuristics to reduce clumping like people are seeing now to make things more steady overall.

what means the death brackets indeed made the penicillin list like removing shielded people from attacks and will be imposed on the game until most veterans evaporate in disgust.

    Deserve some publicity really.

My position did not change, I as not to quit entirely just go causal way -- fight only when prize interesting and skip grinding part. I came back mainly because Phaser was explicit it is okay behavior.

I happened to play more than I thought I will because the recent events happened to fit mostly. Went to serious ramble only at end on sentry pve along with fellow Custers to stay in t100 and it was pretty fun too.

The major pain points are shifting -- the new winner is server problems icon_e_smile.gif though seems for some they are a huge benefit.

Complete quitting-wise there is a new opening for that, Ice stated something implying D3 tests scenarios to get rid of prologue healing completely -- topping its recent nerf via SM. But I doubt it in more than vaporware.

If you stay completely away, good for you icon_e_smile.gif but in complete "don't care the results" mode it's not painful really, I'm trying all kinds of teams to see how it goes.

OTOH, if you want to get depressed or find more fuel for turning your back, read the question thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8706 or just Ice answers from his profile. The game is officially going in the direction observed this far, full speed and the dev team is all too happy about it. What movie it was, the last Batman? With the idea that the root of TORTURE is always to provide HOPE? There clearly is no hope at all for a turn (beyond full stop/crash), maybe that is the thing why I see the pain gone from playing or not playing . icon_e_smile.gif

While I'm at it, FYI, everyone, I'm completely away jun 7-9. When we'll probably have the heroic or something bringing new storm or whatever next character.
  • Sorry folks I have to quit the game. This is not because of game frustrations (although I bet everybody have) but rather more of personal reasons.

I will not leave the alliance (just to have the measly 98 pts be there in Starfall PVP count). Just feel free to kick me.

This is me quitting cold turkey. Bye mates!

Well, prologue healing is definitely my number one on the list of most tedious things necessary to stay competitive without spending lots of cash, so seeing it removed could technically classify as major improvement. However, knowing D3 it's a pretty safe bet they'll remove it in the way that hurts players most. That probably means that all in-mission healing will only grant temporary health for the remainder of the fight, with all damage going to permanent health first. So if you start with 3k health, take 4k damage while healing 2k, you'll drop from 1k temporary health to -1k permanent health at the end of the fight, downing you after the victory screen.

I'm sure once they get to it they will invent a way nobody expects and screws over everything -- or adapt an expected method halfway, without the other necessary changes. But I doubt it will happen anytime soon, they look more aware on the negative impact and will not risk to go ahead with something like that until the current **** is settled, especially the server issues. Their admitting problems and issuing "compensation" is already something not in the style.

How it goes, did you pass the test and remain just Galadriel? icon_e_wink.gif
  • I think the for a change the BP prizes is something most of us need -- I definitely miss a black cover that is in the PVP alliance.

Can we put out act together? I don't expect the recent thing repeated really, we all have maxed patch and that shall make up a fair difference in advantage. 2x141 is not that hard to beat with pun/obw but a full group is much tougher call with lesser resources.

Dont want to worry you but check some rosters, it seems Emeryt was inviting some noobs during your afS, including me icon_razz.gif
