I for one will be back in action after a weekend away and really want that BP black as well, so I'll be going for it. My Patch/Daken/LThor team is good to go.

I just hope that I can still catch up in the simulator up to a degree that I can still get that black BP cover as well, so I can max that ability out. I have my doubts, though. i've fallen pretty far behind after a weekend of barely playing.
  • Well, if we are talking bout missing covers and/or slacking then I must say I need all covers, besides Shield Bro. So no slacking please icon_e_wink.gif

Bout sim, just ask Phantron bout some kind of magic. I was top1, top4 in subs thanks to his magical advice.
  • Is the current team composition final for the time being or still in flux?

We're pretty much changed, it would help to reflect the current state in the first post.

And welcome all new members, remember to write some funny stuff here time to time. icon_e_smile.gif
  • Funny stuff? Well, maybe its not funny but still nice for me. Ive 2 comics which covers are using in MPQ. There were so many covers, Ive only small collection from my childood and still I can see two of them ingame icon_e_smile.gif As I said its pretty nice feeling icon_e_wink.gif

Now you can start guessing which one I have.

    Batman and Donald Duck.
  • We need an entry in the sheet here viewtopic.php?f=16&t=7952
  • I though I will play the first sub of TAT but will not, consider my score final for the whole event. Maybe the next one will look reasonable.

If I find time will play to some 500ish pts at start of sentry tournament and leave it to freefall with some def team.

EDIT: after restart levels fell from 280 to 90 on last node and to 56 from 160-200ish in essentials, so reverting to plan A for the first sub icon_e_smile.gif
  • Hi all,

My first post in this thread! I just joined... Hope to contribute.
TAT ending in a few more hours... Hope to get more points.

I still not that good at PvE to max out points.

    Hi guys,

    I think I'm leaving icon_e_sad.gif

I was having a lot of fun playing without the preassure of 900+ in every event, with the scope of getting at least the covers at top 100 alliance. It should be easy if everybody plays a little but ... this last PvP I shield at 800+ not because I needed the covers (my Cmag [edited] is maxed since ages and I don't care about final placement at Seasons anymore) I just think someone could need it. Fine, maybe people prefers PvE (talking to myself) then I look at our overall score and ... out of top100 (with at least two people over 50K) icon_e_surprised.gif

I don't want to ask anyone to push harder, so good luck and thanks a lot for all your advices and the conversation in the chat icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Regards
  • I think we all need to talk about this situation.

Such situation like in the BP tourney should not take place. I'd understood if we had like 5 people afk for 2days. But if You're able to grind PvE and maintain good score there, what's wrong with getting those lame 300pts in PvP?

Seriously - we finished #107. 250pts to #103. So if 2 out of 5 people who were slacking got those 300pts we would have secured Red CMags. 5 people in the scAvengers needed this cover, maybe more (I'm not counting respecs, but a lot of You have CMags at 544).

I don't expect You to burn HP on shields. I don't expect spending more time in MPQ than needed. But c'mon - 300pts? Start the moment tourney starts and burn through seed teams in no time. And / or play late and get 6-7fights for 40pts. You contribute to the alliance AND secure us a cover AND get yourself a token.

Of course we try to be casual. But it doesn't mean 5 people will do their best. We all work for each other. Do not forget that.

Worst part? Anubis leaving. I totally understand His decision.

More? It's not the first time. A couple of days ago we finished exactly #100, only 10pts above #101. I thought that taught You something, as You all shown in Cage Match which we ended IIRC top20.

I know Storm is new and shiny and storm. I know new PvE system requires a lot of grinding. But doing 1 battle with other team while Your PvE team is regenerating? How hard is that?

Not to mention that there are some new players among us and they knew the expectations. 700pts in PvP is not much. Some didn't even got 10% of that.

On a side note: As a player who spends a lot of time in this game and as a complecist I want to be sure that I always get the alliance cover in PvP. And as I'm not leaving the game so far, I want to be in an alliance where I feel secure about it.
  • I'n one that needed a Red Cmag. I was hoping to finish in the top 100. i made it over 800 and i didn't get much playing time this weekend. heck, i wasn't even attacked until i hit 700, so i think a little more effort could have been put in by others. i've been in this alliance from the start, but if this is the direction we're going i might look into a more active alliance. i generally play just for fun and i move past all of the MPQ problems, but people riding the coattails of other is unacceptable.

First of all: I hope that anyone thinking of leaving will wait to do so after the season is over. Even if some people in the Alliance aren't pulling their weight (looking at Copps mostly), a lot of us have actually been doing their best and if they get screwed out of the Fury cover by people jumping ship a week before season end would really, really suck.

That being said, I'm not sure I'm sticking around after season 2 ends either. But that has less to do with the Alliance, and more with getting too frustrated by the game. Emeryt, when you say 700 points in a PvP is easy to get, a litte while ago I would have agreed with you... but in recent tournaments, I find myself facing 141 opponents right from the start, gettingg frequent attacks in as soon as I hit 300, and constantly after crossing the 500 mark. Not shielding isn't an option if I want to keep a 700 score, which I had to struggle for in both BP and Starfall. The matchmaking has changed, and much, much for the worse. And I don't know if any tricks would fix my MMR or not, but if I have to suicide team after team before even starting a tourney (and actually play, since simply retreating doesn't cut it anymore), it becomes even more of a chore to play than it feels like right now. And with the current state of the game, it seems like 700 points average is becoming more and more necessary to keep that 3rd cover. That being said, as long as I'm with the ScAvengers, that's the minimum I'll keep striving for, even if I don't need the covers, like in the current Mags tourney.

As for the PvE... I think a lot of us have better things to do over the weekend than play every 2,5 hours. I know I do, so I barely played at all. Fortunately, rubberbanding is doing its job nicely, so after a late night session last night and two today I'm back in the top 100 (and climbing) and so is the alliance. I don't think we need to worry too much there as long as we all keep putting some effort in. Still, PvE is becoming a grindfest where you can't afford to not play every couple of hours for more than a day or two if you want to stay in covers range. And the abysmal 3 star drop rates for tokens makes it feel like it's all for nothing too.

All in all, I don't really think it's a matter of riding coattails (well, not intentionally so anyway), although I agree with Emeryt that even if you have a busy weekend one play session where you get 300 points should be a minimum amount of effort you can put in for a PvP. But I do think a lot of people are getting burned out from a game that is becoming all stick and no carrot. And therefore I do think we need a discussion on what people intend to do after this season ends.
  • I agree, it shouldn't be too hard to be a top 100 alliance. I was trying to figure out why our score was so low until I realized some people didn't even join the PvP. The kicker is that we were very close to 100. I would think that if you saw us that close to the cover and had some capacity to add points, you would do so for the sake of the alliance. That assumes, of course, that people saw the score and were able to play, which might not have been the case.

It is no matter to me in this particular instance, just 500 iso less as I would have sold the cover. I do feel for those who needed the cover, though. It will be different if we miss the Storm cover in the PvE. A lot of people in the alliance (myself included) have put in a great deal of time and effort to secure a good score in the PvE, and it would be a shame to miss top 100. Even if you are far away from getting covers from your personal score, please take a few minutes to play at least the main essential nodes when you can. Those are worth a lot of points and have RB.

Anubis, I completely understand if you need to leave, but if possible please wait until the end of the PvE. We are at #95 right now. If we keep up as is we will get the cover. If we get a little more participation, we will safely have top 100.
  • Hi there,

I have put a lot of time and effort in this PvE too (near 50K progression) and the idea of loosing that cover drives me crazy icon_e_sad.gif

I will stay until the end of this PvE just for you guys icon_e_wink.gif but we have to make a final push If we want to get something. Fail me not brothers icon_cool.gif

[Edit: I didn't realize that the end of Season II was too close, If you don't find a replacement for me with at least the same points at PvP I will stay until the end. No regrets If we miss something more this week]

Well, other than pasa not playing and our two usual suspects (copps and champion9782) underperforming, we're not doing too badly. I'm going to try and do the 'play every refresh' thing, since that's easier for me during weekdays, being my own boss and all.

Plus Emeryt and Wes have yet to really start on this sub. That'll give a nice boost. We'll get that third Storm.
  • I have confirmed that I will remain with the mighty scAvengers until the end of this season icon_cool.gif . I apologize for any inconvenience icon_redface.gif

    No prob.

Just did my pve refresh. Close to overall too 40 again, and top 10 in my sub.

I should also get started on the shield sim, with only a week to go. Top 25 if not top 10 for season should be feasible.

I'm grinding away as well. Was busy all weekend, so not much for playing. But I have really closed gap in PvE. Went from 850th to top 200 and still have lots of 2K nodes to grind down. I'll be pumping in some points no problem.
  • The problem with these events is that it doesn't take much effort to place top 100 (so far) but it becomes way harder if people are vastly underperforming. Starfall had extremely high levels of aggression but even then you should be able to at least hit 500.

TaT had some serious scoring problems and it's too hard to say anything definitive at this point, other than that if you didn't play you'd come nowhere close to top 200 and the points are ridiculously high that even the max rubberband won't let you easily make up that deficit. I went to like #500 after being away for most of the day even though I started out at around #10 or so in the main bracket. By the way, you don't really have to bother too much with the sub brackets at this point. The main bracket points are so dominant that you can easily skip the sub bracket (maybe try to do a couple mission in the last hour just for some iso on placement) and still be fine.

I've said this before and I'll say this again. I don't expect people to always put up an awesome performance but we can't have too many no shows or it's wasting time for the people who do compete. An average of 500 in PvP still seems more than comfortable to place top 100, and whatever the equivalent of that for PvE. TaT is a notable exception, but if you're hitting the 3 essential nodes every 2h 24m (or twice every 5 hours, or 3 times every 8 hours), you should be able to easily get the amount needed to average for a top 100 finish.
