Just got my Blue Cap. Thanks again Fluffyudders for opening up those new alliance spots.

I need some advice from my fellow Alliance members. After this event, I have 300K ISO saved up. I have been hoarding it to be able to level my 3* when they become usable. Obviously, it is taking quite awhile, and my patience is getting tested. Looking at my roster, do you guys think I should continue hoarding, or start levelling up some of my other characters. My prime candidates would probably be SpiderMan who has the most covers and is Lvl 60, but his abilities don't scale a ton with levelling, or Magneto Classic who I haven't levelled due to the potential for the nerfbat, and who I only have one purple cover for, but I wonder if he's usable if I did level him.

Have a look at my roster and let me know what you think - it seems an awful lot of ISO just to be sitting there waiting for another Patch or Punisher cover (they are both maxxed based on the covers I have).

I dont know how it worked cause last I looked we were at 311 but I just got a blue cover and 1000 iso for top 250 alliance.

Wil, I had a look at your roster, 300k is a LOT of iso. It's up to you who you want to level, but my advice would be to level Hulk, he's a great deterrent for defence. There are others who can be really handy like Daken, but you don't want to burn all of that iso. So pump hulk and save the rest of the iso for a little later perhaps?

I originally was planning on levelling Daken until they announced the lazy Daken on its way, now I'll wait for that cover.
I had dismissed Hulk as he only has 2 black covers, but you make a good point. Thanks for the help. If anyone else has good advice, let me know. (a couple lucky Patch cover pulls and I'll be laughing!)

As one of the freelancers that came in I can say that something happened near the end of the event brought us within the top 250. I've been checking to see how much I managed to help but the best I noticed was hovering within the 280-310 range. Then it suddenly became 230+ I believe.

This 2 subevents were tough though, I just couldn't seem to make much progress in terms of my rank, everyone else in my bracket (or at least those close to me) seemed to be playing as much as I was... My ranking hardly changed even as I was playing.

Congrats to everyone on getting the blue cover!

I'm never one to hoard ISO and work level to level. I only save up enough for me to get a character I'm working on to the next level. My aim is to get my characters as high as I can for each and every one of them. For your current roster though, I would suggest leveling either spiderman, classic magneto or just finish up on what's left of your hulk. Spiderman for that extra bit of health, Hulk for the damage and health and C.Mags for the damage, esp. since you've already gotten yourself a decent amount of covers on him.

Ultimately, it depends on what you prefer as your A-team and what you wish to do with your characters. If spiderman is just there for his abilities, as long as you have other characters sharing his colours but with stronger tile damage, you can leave it as it is. I prefer to level my spiderman for the extra health so he can survive mishaps during battle (e.g. a stray Rocket/Flamethrower from a goon I didn't notice or can't stop in time).

I would also suggest leveling C.Storm though she probably can wait for a time when she's boosted. She's crazily useful in pve with her skillset, particularly when boosted.

Top 250, nice! Fluffyudders, I feel bad that you had to spend your HP to open up two slots. I wish I could donate HP somehow, hopefully the devs will come up a good alliance expansion solution.

I ended up with just over 250k in the Simulator. Ate lunch real quick today so I could get a few matches in, haha.

Wil88, 300K is alot of iso. Maybe you can swim around in it like Scrooge McDuck. I think Hulk is a good bet, he is a good tank plus you may get some more covers for him soon in the upcoming event. I can tell you what I did regarding Spiderman if it'll help. You're right that his abilities don't really scale so how much do you level him? I sometimes use Spiderman with Iron Man 40. What I did was level IM40 until as much as I wanted, then leveled Spidey until his blue matches were just below IM40's. That way IM40 can tank blue and Spidey is not out in front too much. So then you can use IM40, Spidey + a damage dealer (Punisher or Patch). It's worked for me so far. Otherwise, I would hold onto your iso and see what covers you get next.

It's probably just friendly neighbourly style pop ins to say hi. Having alliances doesn't mean interaction has to be restricted to within alliance boundaries.

Thanks Fluffyudders, I read through your post after I made that quick post with my phone, looks like at least 3 of us got the news at nearly the same time. Not sure why my screen seemed so delayed. I had even checked our alliance in game and it didn't say that we had any knew members and still only 6 slots. Either way I am ecstatic that it worked out.

It's looking likely that our freelancers will be leaving us, but again I give my thanks for their help and glad they could share in our Blue Lazy Cap Glory!

As I have now splurged on two new slots, it would be foolish to leave them open, so I will be putting out my tendrils and hoping to catch a couple of other F2P Vets. If any of you guys know anyone who would be eligible, then let me know!

A bit of an update on my roster.

I went ahead and boosted my 5/3/4 Hulk up to 98 and my 2/4/4 Spidey up 64(wish I too had a 300k hoard of iso ), I have been using them in the fearless defenders event with my 103 5/3/5 punisher. So far this seems to be a pretty decent team for winning matches, although personally I find the matches to be quite a bit slower than using OBW, but OBW's limited healing power just doesn't bring Hulk back to full health fast enough.

I got myself up to 5th in my bracket last night at 505 points before I went to sleep. When I woke up I had been knocked down 73 points, which is much better than the usual 150-200 range I get blasted with using a OBW based team.

All in all this new team seems to be a better defensive choice, so I may do some alternating between OBW and Spidey as healers/protection, but make sure I use the spidey/hulk/punisher combo in my last run before time away from the game.

What would you guys think about a Spidey/Hulk/Storm classic or OBW/Hulk/Storm classic team for defense? I know I hate battling opponents with OBW and Storm C, I find that Storm C has to get knocked down first(before she hits her black power) but if OBW hits her purple steal in the meantime a match can really go awry.
