I just can't understand the mentality of some people, or maybe I should say lack of.

No need to question it, take the points and run. icon_e_smile.gif

As for selecting regular, non-retaliation matches the extra 30 iso/match can be nice but I will still usually pass by any matches which are less than 20 points up to the point where it starts costing iso anyway. How do you guys play these situations?

I also skip matches that are worth less than 20 points. It's much better to play a few big points matches than many small point matches. Also, if I'm attacked in the middle of a push, I might skip because I know that person is playing at the same time I am and their retaliation will slow me down. Unless of course they are worth a lot of points.

After my last session of Unstable iso, I was at 35k which put me in first place. I'll do another round tonight.

I am currently in a pretty low MMR - so the matches are easier, but it's harder to find 20+ point matches. I vary which match I play depending on how much time is left in the event and what my opponent looks like. I'll do one for 15 points if there is a lot of time left, and if their roster looks like there is little chance of them retaliating.

Currently have 399 in First Avenger - will hopefully make a push towards the end as I'd like that Green GSBW cover.

I have been finding my previous strategies for PvE haven't been working as well this event, so am now just grinding when I can as opposed to timing it. Currently at 35678. I've been as high as 5th and as low as 200th. It's a very weird event. With the places so close in points, final placement is probably going to come down to who has the time to grind the last hour or two before the end - which will suck if you've grinded the whole event but can't do that last couple hours.
  • Totally agree about this event sucking. I hope to grind the last hour or so, but really....

And how did they think those progression awards would be anywhere near achievable?

ok so what the heck does the acronym MMR actually stand for?

Honestly, I'm not sure, but a while ago I decided it stood for something like "Match-Making Rank" and then decided I'll stick with that until someone tells me otherwise.

I was at 44k and first in the pve. I hope I can manage the two torch covers for the inevitable requirement. 330 and 21in the PvP. I actually got my 13th gsbw cover as a reward in unstable iso. Looking forward to hollowpoint kiss.

Great job RemoDestroyer, I just finished the Lazy Cap Pvp in 19th at 541. I was really hoping for top10 but once again a super difficult bracket with everyone grinding in the end. Should get my 12 Gsbw cover, I was just really, really, really wanting the green cover as well for the full team attack. Better luck next time I guess.

    Hope everyone did well
  • Yay, woke up to my fifth green cover for Grey Suit Black Widow. I went all out for this event since I've been waiting for that last green for a long time, fought my way up to 745 points.

Unstable Iso ends at 5am for me... Will do my best but I fear I may be pushed out of Torch covers, unless I decide to forego some sleep tonight.

Way to go lazer. Same for me - it was close - I got hit with 5 minutes to go, but managed to squeak back into Top10 with 724. That's only my 3rd Green and Red cover for her, but at least now I have a full team of 3* above Lvl 85. (burned 100K ISO in the past few days!!! icon_e_biggrin.gif )

I will be glad to have the end of the ISO-8 event- I haven't liked this event. I'm currently at 45338, and #52 - will do a morning round then another one before the end of the event. Some of those nodes are now not doable for me, even with boosts. Our Alliance is currently #472 with 258369 points. Somehow I don't think that third Torch cover is going to show up even with a mercenary.

Great job guys. I'm jealous of the green covers, but I just couldn't do it this time icon_rolleyes.gif
  • I'm in a similar boat. Caught between RL events and the PVE I had hardly any time to spare. I had 5 minutes before the end of the event, and figured a quick win may find me in the last bracket with enough points to rank somewhere... it was worth a go. The result is possibly the single most frustrating experience I've had with the game.

See, I picked a fairly easy battle, and my characters were all powered up, but somehow, SOMEHOW, I lost. Call it bad luck, nasty cascades - it involved a level 85 Thor who managed to pull off Call the Storm at least twice - but losing isn't what frustrated me the most. See after I lost I had "<1 min" to the end of the event, so I quickly looked at the player ranking. Despite having ZERO points, I was still put into a bracket as I had participated. Even with zero points, I ranked around 40th. I had eked into the very last bracket as expected. However if I had won my fight, as I really really should have, I would have easily ranked top 10. The top of the leaderboard was someone who had obviously managed two victories, with a score of I think 78.

My GSBW is 4/3/5, I really could have done with that last cover, especially with the Hollowpoint Kiss event now running. Just to rub salt into the wound, even though I ranked I only received alliance rewards, so a score of zero earns you no rewards regardless of where you rank, which is interesting.

I guess here that the moral of the story is "never assume a win, because the game can be a **** ****"
  • Wasn't able to do much of anything in the PvP event as well. Intend on hitting the GSBW event pretty hard since shes at 3/3/5 for me. Currently at 43920 on the PvE event.

Just so you guys know the new R50 update is up - it gives Alliance chat and you can look at individual alliance member scores (both your own and competing ones).
For our alliance, we are all pretty close to each other ranging from 44K to 50K - we're all a bunch of grinders!!

Once this event is over, I think we should look at our options to expand our alliance. We just can't compete with 6 members, and it would be nice to be rewarded with extra 3* covers that we would easily be able to compete for it we had more members.
  • As some of you may have noticed, I've just promoted quadiak to commander in the alliance. While I don't think it's an overly shocking move, I have done it for a specific reason. A combination of factors (mostly in real life) has meant that I just haven't had time to play as much as I've wanted to, and you may have noticed I scored poorly in the hollowpoint kiss event despite owning a level 100+ GSBW. I'm simply not going to have the time to contribute as much as I need to, so I'm handing the reins over to quadiak. I'll still be around and contributing what I can, but I can't keep up with the communications side of things, or looking to recruit new players. So basically I'm staying on as founder, but quadiak is the alliance leader from here on out. Good luck guys!

Looks Like everyone forgot about the forum since we now have a chat in game, but that's ok. Thank you Developers for getting the chat up and running.

Good job on the gsbw pvp guys, top 500 is pretty good for 6 guys who haven't bought their way into another obvious P2W scheme. I am very proud of this group of players who are obviously intelligent enough to separate real life from electronic fiction and don't waste hundreds or possibly thousands of dollars just to climb the leader boards. I looked at the stats of some of the top teams on the alliance leader boards and trust me, some of these teams combined spending totals are definitely in the thousands.

I would also like to say thanks to fluffyudders for the promotion and I look forward to doing as much as I can to help out the alliance. As of now please PM me(quadiak) with any recruitment applications or ideas. There is not going to be any varying from our original founding ideals, as I believe F2P is the very backbone of this alliance and hopefully it is the reason we have all come together. Cheers my friends now go and treat yourselves to something nice with all the money you didn't waste. icon_razz.gif and fear not we will one day get this motley crew large enough to grab up top 100 prizes(which include covers) without having to take out bank loans or sell our children.

Hi everyone, as the latest player to be promoted to commander status in the F2P Veterans alliance, I want to extend an invitation for long time F2P players to join our growing alliance. We have a very strong alliance of 6 hard core members at the moment and we are looking to expand so we can get up to top alliance rewards with like minded players. Please PM me with you roster stats, and length of time playing the game if you are a die hard F2P player such as ourselves. Thanks quadiak

Congratulations to our alliance for the first of many top100 finishes. The heroic hard mode pve was a tough one and we did it this time. You should all be very proud.

Congrats team! The last hour was crazy, we were hovering around 100 and then a final push to just get over.

Right near the end I had run out of health packs and was just short of the token progression award, so I went into the prologue and healed as fast as I could. Managed to finish a match in time and redeem the token. Turned out to be Hawkeye. icon_rolleyes.gif
