  • Hi fellow bears. I'm in the midst of busy season at work and this is our busiest month. I've also started doing roller derby again. I'll still be playing regularly and intend to maintain good scoring but may not be able to push too high until work slows down which should start a little next month. icon_e_smile.gif
  • I finally have some down time, so I'll introduce myself.

I've been playing this game since late January. I was drawn to it by the match-3 elements and the marvel aspect of the game. I'm not as avid of a comic book reader as I'd like to be, but I loved what parts of the Dark Reign story line I've read. I've always find the idea of good and evil counterparts interesting. I also love that there is strategy involved in the game and I find enjoyment in finding the best build for my characters.

Non-game related, I work at a call center and do subscription and ticket outreach for the ballet here. My undergrad degree was in art history and I've found myself drawn to being a patron of the arts since college. I'm more analytic than creative, although I do enjoy singing, even if I haven't had formal lessons.

Feel free to ask any questions or whatever.

@altlover: Time to clean up the sig? Or are you trying to hint something?

A quick HUNT recap... rank 44! Make use of that extra HP everyone!
We kind of strolled back into top 50 during the last half hour? Did you all mad rush it? I didn't. I re-did the 3 essential nodes three times. Anyhow, amazing job. Probably screwed up my scaling for the next PVE, but what else is new.
  • @DD, I thought I cleared that already. I thought it was strange that you mentioned that to me earlier. Whoops!

Hey fellow starees. New to the alliance and looking forward to contributing and staying focussed under the glare of 19 new alliance mates!

I'm a Scot stuck in Canada, so a displaced bear though I do care for my new country. I usually stare at my computer screen all day as I work in logistics, it's a job that's busier in the winter so I'll be around on here during the summer and probably hibernate from the forums a bit more as the days darken. I have 2 cubs which means I have a life entertaining them prior to 8pm MST, then consequently no life after 8pm as I'm in the house anyway usually on the couch. This works out well for some good MPQ time.

My inside joke is to pressure Punter to spend his HP hoard. Well, I guess the joke is not so inside now.

NOOO! Was gonna post something about that but thought I'd leave it be... my cave only has a 500 HP stored up ready for the next roster spot I need when my new alliance mates help me get that nice new shiny cover (moStorm purleeze), I don't fritter it away on Shields - yet...

However as I'm streaking ahead in BoP while enjoying the game maybe I'll break my shield virginity rather than leave my points bare!

Where in Canada? I've got family in Calgary and Victoria, and my mother grew up in Saskatoon.

It's a nice area. I went there last about three years ago. There's a great German restaurant out in Priddis called the Bavarian Inn my family's gone to for like 30 years, if you ever make it out that way, and of course there's great Dim Sum in Chinatown.

I've found I tend to know places I've been more than restaurants than anything else.

This one in Bragg Creek I'd bet - http://thebavarianinn.com/ - have been there, got friends that live just down the road. Not a huge Dim Sum fan too doughy, much prefer Sushi, Calgary got some good places given how close it is to the sea...

Yup, that's the one. They've changed ownership since the last time I was there, but they've generally been able to keep the quality going.
  • In the hospital for a few days with the wife and new baby and a good amount of free time on my hands in between feeding and cleaning diapers. Ironically there's not a ton going on in MPQ right now...

I like the concept of this Balance of Power PvP but in practice it seems to value one and two star characters WAY too much since it costs so much less to level them. It's fun using some characters that I haven't used in a long time but it also is a little frustrating to have all the guys I've put the most work into leveling recently be relatively weak.

I accidentally put in Lazy Thor and I saw regular Thor had the same amount of health but cheaper abilities...

Congrats again Mr. adamLmpq. I have a couple more kids than you do, and if I remember the early years... they don't do much other than lay where you left them. We put up the baby gates way too early.

Thanks! He hasn't done much yet but the classic eat/sleep/poop combo, but with just the right frequency to prevent us from getting much meaningful sleep. Either way it's pretty cool. We actually have baby gates all over the house already to keep the dogs in/out of particular rooms so we're good on that part but I'm sure there will be plenty more to change in the near future. (hopefully not my MPQ schedule!)

Congrats Adam - enjoy. Those first 6 months, while the sleep schedule changes, the babies abilities are limited to the classic 3 you pointed out which are reasonably easy to manage! I remember being locked into Elder Scrolls Oblivion when we had our first one, and playing a whole bunch with my son sleeping on my chest, good bonding and gaming time, now with a 6 yr old that would be a lot harder...

Once they start picking up the roll, crawl, toddle etc you have to be a lot more on your toes
  • @Adam

Congratulations on the new Baby bear! I mean boy! icon_e_smile.gif

The first 6 months will be mostly, eat/sleep/poop. A good swing or bouncy chair will be your new best friend. When my kids were born, we offset sleep schedules (bottle feeding). My wife, who was really tired, would go to bed around 9. I would stay up with baby until about 1 - 2 a.m. Which kind of worked for me, since I am more a night person. Since it is usuall a 2-3 hour offset... My wife would get to sleep from 9 to 3-4. Than get up feed the baby and go back to sleep. For my part, would let me sleep until about 8 - 9. So, we could both get "healthy doses" of sleep; as opposed to both getting up every time the baby cried (got hungry, needed a diaper) and both being on a massive lack of sleep.

That is the best advice I can give you. Let the lady rest... icon_e_smile.gif

    Again! Super happy for you!!

    Stare on!
  • Congrats on Baby adam!

I've no experience in that department so I wish you luck. Hope the kid grows up to make you proud and that you raise him (?) well.

MPQ-wise. This balance of power seems neat but Sweden has wonderful weather and I have some cool friends to spend time with so I'll spend my time outdoors and wait for Psylocke PvP so my maxed psyduck can wreck some fools icon_twisted.gif
