To Johnaaron: Welcome.

To DecoyDuck: I think I said it before that its frustrating looking at the higher scoring alliances and then seeing that your scores are better then some of their members. Then try to combine that with a worse than 500 alliance ranking. I'm sure there are a lot more people who are jumping ship to try to find a more competitive group. Unfortunately not everyone sees the same level of opponents so its hard to really say that someone is slacking with a 700 score compared to others with over 1000. I hope that people are leaving or being forced out for the right reasons. Some of these events are really tough. I'm very happy that we have been top 50 these past few events. I don't know what we really gain from being higher than that. I wish we could see the entire leaderboard so that we can see what the 20 - 40th ranked teams are scoring.

To All: I am probably not going to do well on this Loki event. I need to really focus on bringing up my Shield score the next couple of days.

for what it's worth, the Loki event is points "banked" for the Season (if thats what yo mean by Shield score).

Whereas the Simulator, doesnt end and always leaves you open to hits/retaliations, so that score can/will fluctuate more...

I'm one of the few wierdos that want's a 5/3/5 build for IM40. I think the max yellow is a big deal even thought the cost is high. And as I look the yellow is the alliance award.

I see that they finally removed Rags as the 1100 reward and it's now a useless purple Loki.

I've decided to win my Loki bracket. Let's hope I don't share bracket with any lunatics from the big alliances. EDIT: Oh ****, I share Bracket with JimboJim24. He uses shields like it's nobodies business. He also has a 5-page roster that includes duplicate maxed 2*s and three 2* Wolverines. Maybe I won't be first.

Like many other 3*'s I don't have IM40 cover maxed, but he's so low on my priority list that saying I need his covers is quite a bit of a stretch.

But then again we are known as an alliance to have an unhealthy fondness for Loki, so we may just totally rock it. I wouldn't even bat an eyelid. Carebear Stare!

I'm doing 3/5/5, which I suspect is even weirder. I use his yellow all the time, and like his blue more than his red for a variety of reasons.

Tonzil - I'll take a look at that. I thought the Simulator reset after the season ends.

IM40 is not interesting to me; I can do more damage with less HP by dropping some strike tiles and spamming C.Mags. Would be a good tank I guess for a future event.

We're all presuming the Simulator ends after the season. I think what Tonzil is saying is that as your PVP score are accumulated for each event, they are deposited into your season score. Whereas the Simulator scores will go and up and down as you play through Simulator.

The better strategy would be to maintain consistently good scores in the season PVP events, then burst through the Simulator during the last 48 hours or so. For the season, you can never have less than the sum of your season 1 PVP scores.

So, not that it matters (to me anyways), did the whole world get screwed out of a 50K patch reward?

I mean, does anyone beleve the 50K award is achievable? I am top 10 in my main - spending WAY TOO MUCH time tanking... And I have barely low 20Ks... Event is going to end some time in a near future...

Just a passing thougt is all...

I've seen this kind of thing happen several times in the past. I'm not sure where they come up with those numbers, but it is what it is at this point. Luckily I don't need any patch covers, sucks for those that do, though

Thank you, thank you. You're far too kind. I'd like to dedicate this award to my alliance-mates without whose insane influence I would most likely not have gone against my better judgment and risked precious season points for a top 10 finish (and a Loki cover I didn't even need).

Though I did feel like a bit of a daredevil (Knievel not Affleck) droppings shields for those final few points I have to admit there wasn't that much risk (or wasted HP) involved. I found a squishy team of OBW/MNThor/Low Level Rags and waited on the boost screen until there was about two and a half minutes left on the event clock and my shield (average time it takes me to clear a match fully boosted). With the time it takes to go through the character selection/boost screens and the boost animations at the beginning of matches I was betting that only someone who was already in the process of attacking me could possibly beat me in time. Since I had been shielded/attacked multiple times for almost three hours this was unlikely. In the end it all worked out. But see, way more planning went into my attack than your quasi-kamikaze, devil-may-care idea to take down two 5DV (?) guys and hoping to re-shield before their coordinated counter-offensive. I stand by my advice to you.

I do. He's one of my least covered three stars. While I hate that ridiculous bumblebee armor in the comics, I feel like, maxed out, he'd be a useful tank and his yellow might come in handy as a battery for better offensive characters.

I'd say that if anyone is not interested in IM40 try to just get 500 points for the sake of the alliance. We've been "over-scoring" quite a bit to place closer to top50 than top100 which is impressive but not really "necessary".

@BenGrimm: indeed 3/5/5 is a weird build

I'm fealing quite good about my season placement at the moment. I'm top 13 currently, hanging with the big dogs
Only position 3500 in the simulator though.

We don't have alliance contribution point minimums, and I like that. It keeps the game casual so it doesn't feel like a job. Still, I have set for myself a goal of 700 points for each PvP event just for alliance contribution even if I don't need any of the rewards (which for most lately I do not).

There are only a few characters I don't have full covers for: Hulk (10/13), Daredevil (9/13), Falcon (8/13), X-Force Wolv (9/13), Invis Woman (7/13), Human Torch (5/13), Steve Rogers (9/13), Black Panther (4/13), Psylocke (4/13), Modern Thor (3/13)

I guess that's more than I realized... about 25% of the available characters. Of course it get less and less likely to actually get the covers you want the more characters they release. But anyway, unless a tourney has any of the 8 three star covers I need as a reward I will most likely hit 700 points and shield up to the end. Hitting 1300 points or 1st place for the 4 star covers just takes way more work than I feel like putting in any more.

From what I can tell, NO ONE will hit it. I looked at the top 10 alliances, and the highest member right now is 26k.

As for IM40, I have no interest, but I'm gonna play like normal because I'm hovering around the 50 range in Season 1, and I want that 10-pack just to once again be tormented by the lack of OBW covers.

Over the weekend I joked about how they were gonna give IM40, then have Doubleshot tournament where they'll give out DD rewards twice in a row. Uh oh... I'm scared

It was probably reasonable, but they changed the point values early on, so probably that 50k is a reasonable number under the old system, but unreachable under the new one

Welp, I'm at work and then I have a thingie and there is no way I'll be able to touch the PVE until 18:15 or so Eastern, about 8 hours from now.

At the time of this post, the sub has a bit more than 50 million left. Don't worry, that's what the alliance is for! Perhaps Milkrain will be waking up just in time...
