@Tonzil: Time to stop spreading out the Iso. Get 2 maxed characters and then go back to spreading out ISO.

I know, I know. I just never know who to throw ISO at next...

Puh-lease. We're leveling the right way. Milkrain is mixed up. Now, let my 130K of ISO comfort me...

How high have you all leveled your Falcon? I went up to my max 51 and now his Yellow is better than all my 2 **s but Thor (after PVP buff). If not too late, be careful when leveling him if you want to have someone else like AWolv covering his yellow.

I've got mine to 67, if I remember right, and I'll probably take him to his soft cap of 77. My OCD finally hit the point where I'm going to level up the 3*s and 4*s below their soft caps up to their soft caps, partially because some of them I think are going to be useful in the short term (Falcon, since he's the newest, and Spidey, since I think he's about to get his rebalance and thus will start getting dropped into events again) and partially because I feel like it.

I think that means taking Spidey from 66 to 89, Loki from 77 to 89, Falcon from 20 (where he was beginning of the day yesterday) to 77, Invisible Woman from 75 to 90, and X-Force Wolverine from 34 to 75 (soft cap right now) and then 90 (soft cap either this afternoon or tomorrow - getting a yellow from daily rewards). It means I'll have every 3* or 4* except Human Torch (still stuck at 30th) at at least 77th level, which also means no more of these major leveling expeditions again for a while.

Yes, I know. You don't have to say it.

How much ISO did you have saved up?
  • My Falcon is in the 50s and will be 60 by tonight. Every tourney, I'm gonna level the featured character to 60, buffed to 90 so that my third will always be somewhat useful. I stopped doing this because I got a flood of Punisher covers and poured all my ISO into him, but I have him soft capped so I have some more breathing room now to just waste ISO here and there while waiting for useful covers to come in. It's maybe not the most efficient way to do things but I'm cover capped anyway, and this is a nice way to test run characters.

Congrats Ben for continuing to be awesome

Hello hello, im here to show my new name icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • *drum roll* It's ten-pack time!

    Let's see…

mHawk purple (of course, gotta have those)
daken black (will actually be able to use it)
    cStorm yellow (*sigh*)
    a 3*! it's loki black (well, it's a 3*, I will use it)
    bagman yellow (useless)
daken black (well, I was one short, so this one is useless)
    mnMag blue (useless)
    aWolv yellow (useless)
    cStorm yellow (again)
    moonstone red (bleargh…)

So… definitely below average with only one 3* and that one being loki. Oh well. Nice little pile of iso. Will be enough for me to get Steve Rodgers to 141, so hurrah for that! He's my first cover at 141!

    Saved up?

    (Checks tablet)

Um... 367 right now, but I have 70 coming from a lightning round in 15 minutes!
  • I see they gave the new Daken a 3rd ability which is good. I had posted back in January some ideas for a third ability for him. One of those ideas seems like it might be pretty similar to what he's ended up with. I ought to be a game designer!

You should ask for royalties icon_razz.gif
  • So, we are back to Grind and Tank, Grind some more, Tank some more... hihihihi

    This sucks so bad.

I managed to start catching up. Currently sitting in 6th in the Sub event and managed to squeeze me back into top 20 in the main. I'll be happy to finish top 20, considering an early start and than being part of the group that "apparently" got screwed. The game dynamics, however will work themselves out. Because of shotty rubberbanding. Allowing, once the nw nodes in the main open up for people in 990th to jump right up into top 20 with 4 or 5 nodes beat...

I dont get the big deal. Yes, it's lazy Daken, and he is going to make all of our lives miserable and people have pleeding and whining for him forever... But at the end of the day, it's still a game (chance, luck, some skill required).

All I know, is we are currently getting reemed in the PvP event... Anyone need Patches?

TOP 5 in my bracket are 1300 to 1500 points... I guess they re skipping on the PvE event in progress.... icon_eek.gif

I think I got an easy bracket (I think I was in 12th with about 700 this morning), but that seems to be the exception. Ironically, I don't need Patch, and if it weren't for the Alliance and the Season I might be tanking the event.

I'll push for a Lazy Daken cover or two solely because I'm 100% certain he'll be required for essential nodes in the next few events. I'll be pursuing him less than usual, though, because his very existence annoys me. Daken doesn't deserve a second character before a bunch of actual major characters getting their first.
  • I don't need any Patch covers and just doing the PvP for Alliance/Season 1 points. I'm aiming to get around 700.

I always want the new covers, so I'm definitely trying for the PvE. Also I liked using Daken back before I had a roster that outclassed him by a lot. I'd like to use him again and have him be worthwhile.

Before alliances, I'd get 300 and move on. Before seasons, I'd get around 700 and move on.

My bracket is between yours and Tonzils (top5 are between 1000 and 1150), but it's 3 S.H.I.E.L.D and 2DVs and a Retribution... so it might become a "posturing" match toward the end. I still have points to gain (I'm expecting some big Care Bear points as the evening approaches) so we still have some time before motivational speeches.

Which motivation speech do you prefer?
You will once again be fighting for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution, but from annihilation. We're fighting for our right to live, to exist; and should we win the day, this PVP will no longer be known as yet another Season score, but as the day when the world declared in one voice, 'We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on, we're going to survive.' Today we celebrate yet ANOTHER Falcon PVP!

    OR

I live in a van down by the river! Now, you kids are probably saying to yourself, "Now, I'm gonna go out, and I'm gonna get the world by the tail, and wrap it around and put it in my pocket!!" Well, I'm here to tell you that you're probably gonna find out, as you go out there, that you're not gonna amount to Jack Squat!!" You're gonna end up eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river! Now, young man, how many Patch are you gonna want?
  • I didn't realize there was a big screw up or whatever with the current Heroic event. I did some digging around and this is the situation, I think: (for those like me that are unaware)
    Lyrian wrote:

In a nutshell, the scenario is this:

-- Devs try new timing mechanics to avoid the dreaded 12AM/6PM EST event ending times. Great!
-- First sub under this new structure opens - Oscorp City. Devs unfortunately underestimate the number of points players would earn on the first day of the event. City sub tracks to close within 6-7 hours of opening.
-- In response, devs half the node points and double the required score of the City Sub to compensate for player activity.
-- The result is that players that started early received the benefit of the accelerated points, while later players are only receiving half credit. Because of this change, early players are effectively one FULL 12-hour cycle ahead of everyone else. Per how rubberbanding works, as long as these players full clear the City sub on every cycle (which is quite plausible currently), they benefit from a lead that is insurmountable for the sub as rubberbanding cannot overcome perfect clears.

The 64,000 ISO question: Does this matter in long run?

Answer: Devs know "on paper", but we don't as players. As IceIX stated, there are repeatable global rubberbanded nodes on the main map (probably the tower). IF there are sufficient nodes on the tower with high point values (likely given previous Heroic Oscorp) and IF there is sufficient time for multiple cycles to respawn point to evaporate the lead from the City sub and IF scaling reaches a point where the tower nodes cannot (or should not) be perfect cleared by the leaders, then no changes are needed as the problem will work itself out.

But... that's a lot of IFs that need to all become valid in harmony at once.

All that said, if any of the players that received the benefit of the accelerated points continue to perfect clear nodes on each cycle, then catching them is mathematically impossible and throws the entire event given the sensitivity of placement on upper-tier placement rewards. Given that the early players on events are often among the most hardcore, the potential of this scenario occurring is surely non-zero.

So... what is the lesser of the evils here? Is it possible for Demiurge to tweak the global repeatable nodes to address this problem later in the event without the nuclear option? Going nuclear probably throws their entire schedule/pipeline out of whack for at least the next week, which is highly undesirable for them. Tough call, honestly.

I am so overwhelmed right now with the flood of events. I can't do anything really to help with the Falcon PVP if I have these other PVEs to deal with. Don't even look at my shield score. Ugh. At least I am only getting a handful of attacks because of my Hulk Pun combo. I could use the Patch covers as Im capped at lvl 41 currently.

There will be a public shaming after this pvp and the one with the lowest score will have to use the lyrics of a Drake song in his signature for a week icon_lol.gif

On 2nd thought, most of us use a carebear in our signatures so...

I whole hertedly agree with you Ben.
  • The latest changes to PvP have made it significantly harder for me, which in turn has made it a lot less fun. As overall scores have shot up, I don't seem to be able to make my own score reach much higher than it typically did before (mid-800's or so). I do love Patch so I'll push hard on this one, however. I hope I finally puzzle out this new system. Any one figured it out?

That had turned me into a PvE specialist for the alliance in recent times with a PvE win and another top 10 in the last 2 events. However, oscorp is so messed up at this point I kinda want to drop it like the hot mess that it is. It doesn't help that I never liked playing with or against Daken, so I can't muster any enthusiasm for the new cover.

I do however really really really like the cover pic they chose.

I'll send you a gift card to buy HP. Use that for shields. Lots and lots of shields. How much do you need? $20? $50? A Stark Salary?

Everything is REALLY messed up right now. They seem to be trying to recyucle old covers that were nerfed or never used before.

Rag was over used and was nerfed and than fell into the category of, "I leveled him, abused him and now left him out to dry in my roster". They started oulling events featuring him alot lately. Maybe dusting him off, as to get people to spend HP/Iso (and real money) on him again. The people that had him on the backburner are laughing, because he is finally being used, other than in LRs, and so they can exploit him for higher/better rewards in PvP. Plus, this banks Season points.

Loki on the other hand has been all but useless forever. They are again shoving him in our faces... I believe for the reasons of HP/Iso/money above.
But, more than that, he is a 3*. Loki VS. Lazy Daken... LD puts down strike tiles everywhere and Loki changes them to defense tiles...

It's like a never ending tile fight, which in the end will just be Funny!
