I also love the God of Lies thread with people being surprised at the sanity of CBS members. Berk and his near max Loki, and people being surprised that Ben's Loki is high enough to tank for the rest of his team.

Or perhaps we're the only sane alliance in this entire asylum... icon_lol.gif

Unfortunately I don't need Doom black anymore. I'm at 5/3 (5/4 after this tourney) but I want the score for Season 1 overall score. Anyone else think Nick Fury is way too good of a reward for Season 1? I just love the concept of Seasons, but chasing the Nick Fury reward is just sucking the fun out of it

Yeah, let's build that season score. I don't know if Fury is going to be amazing or what, but y'know... why not CareBearStare? We can do it. Not rank #1, but we can grab the cover. Cause we're awesome. That's why.

Finally joined the cool kids at the 5K point mark on Season 1. Opening the 10 pack...
    #1 **Daken - purple : boooooo!
    #2 **Bullseye - purple : booooooooo!
    #3 **Bullseye - purple : uh oh.
#4 **Ares - green : hmm, starting seem villainous.
    #5 **Daken - black : ohhhh....
#6 **Captain America - red : there goes that villain idea.
#7 **MN Mags - red : guess I'd be upset if I paid for this.
#8 **M. Hawkeye - red : at least this would make a good story
    #9 **A.Wolvie - green : let's just get this over with...
#10 The token is gold! The token is gold! Psylocke - blue... I can live with that. Not her best color, but we can respec now... so hello 5/5/2 Psylocke!

That's my Psylocke build at the moment too. If you pair her with a yellow user then her steal can be great. I was really hoping Falcon would have an active yellow. The only good alternative is LThor.

I do like Psylocke a lot even though her colours and abilities clash in colour. I like that between the two I'm denying red and green from the opponent and once the strike tiles are down the game is over really quickly especially coupled with Attack tiles.
  • Wow DD, that's a horrible 10 pack. Mine was absolutely amazing

    Daken Purple
Rags Red - Helps me with the remainder of this PvE so can't complain
    2* Cap yellow
PSYLOCKE RED - OK the 9 other covers don't even matter at this point
    A Wolv yellow
OBW Blue - Why must the game torment me so. 2/5/0 OBW and the one time I get an OBW cover, I get the one I don't need
    MHawkeye Purple
    GSBW Red
Ares Yellow - Gonna try 4/4/5
    Wolv Yellow

Psylocke is not quite usable yet (3/3/2) but she's getting there. A little bummed that I didn't get a useful OBW cover but oh well, it happens

My 10 pack sucked something fierce. 1 black Dr. Doom, 9 useless 2* junk. icon_e_sad.gif

The 3 tokens from getting 1st in the hard sub round of PvE treated me better.

    1 black hood
1 yellow Ares so I can finally level him up to max
1 purple ** magneto so I can max out his level as well.

Out of my last 16 "Highly Trained" tokens I've only received 2 covers that we ***.
  • We were right up there with the BiG alliances in the Loki event icon_e_biggrin.gif Awesome performance.

I got robbed of the #1 position. Seems you have to hit 1100 to have a chance at holding top spot.

    Maybe next time...
  • I had a pretty good score in the Simulator event going into the weekend but I hosted a party and was inactive pretty much all of Saturday and it really set me back. I hate how I can't I have one day dedicated to real life without feeling like I'm hamstringing myself in MPQ.

I didn't have any interest in any of the rewards from the Loki event but I stayed up late last night to put up around 700 points towards the alliance score. I'm sorry I'm so far behind in PvP, I'm trying to put more effort into for the alliance than I normally would for myself...

You chose a real life party over a playing MPQ ??? Shame on you! mmm, your carebearstare alliance status is hanging by a thread....

My pve score is going to suffer in the incoming weeks. Im getting few hours of sleep and my wife is getting nervous because of that. Pve's refreshs and endings are generally at 1 am, and i have to be up by 6am so im not sleeping enough. I'll play until 23:30, maybe 00:00, and then go to bed.
Pvps shouldnt be a problem, i almost always shield.

When I say flip flopping between games, I mean changing games really quickly. Like play Zelda for a few weeks, done. Play Sonic, done. Play Mario Kart, done. Maybe go back to Zelda, but it will never hold your attention for a long time.

The steam behaviour of hoarding games and not playing them is a worldwide phenomenon. On my first steam sale I bought maybe 3 games and was excited. Then the next one, I bought a whole bunch. Hey, a 10 pack of indie games that I'm clearly never going to play? Sure, why not? It then just keeps growing and you never get around to playing them. So you just slow down your purchasing, right? Nope, this 5-pack is just too good a deal to pass up, let's just get it despite the fact that I have 3 years worth of games already in my library. I'm sure every single person on this entire forum (not just this alliance) has pretty much the same story.

I'm 28 and I'm a Nintendo boy all the way. Too young for the Atari. Nintendo products are invincible and I'm certain they would survive a flood, hurricane or volcano eruption. Have you ever seen a NES or SNES that doesn't work? Sure, maybe you have to shake it, blow into it, kick it or toss it around the room a few times to get it to work, but hey it will eventually work.

I was never into Sega. I played some of the big games like Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Sonic etc. (oh yeah! and Michael Jackson's Moonwalker...) I was too much of a Nintendo fanboy to take Sega seriously

I mean I've noticed at being 35 year old now I've slowed down some on gaming even though I still play way to much -lol-. But I've noticed stuff like I get burned out more easily now if I am playing something for countless hours and I can't start trying out a new game too late at night cause my mind gets stubborn and will get sleepy easy if I try to learn a new game too late at night -lol-.

For me it's not so much burnout as it is just me tolerating less ****. I used to be so incredibly patient (hence my playing the hell out of games that I hated). For instance, nowadays, I get annoyed at RPGs with insane encounter rates and weird difficulty curves, yet that was the norm back in the early 90s and before. I never ever moaned about it, I just dealt with and lived with it

I think my tolerance for bad games is just a lot lower. I still get entrenched with great games the same way I used to, but I think I'm more analytical now so I'm quicker to spot really annoying things and I'm less likely to tolerate it.

lol, you rock purinxa! ^^ I think you and me would of gotten along just fine growing up together -lol-. Everything you said about Steam is so true and I've been there done that... see a game on sale I want and hey a 4 pack is real cheap, I immediate think hey... I got 3 other friends that might want to play this with me so 4 pack I buy and waste even more money then I should -lol-. Also everything you said about NES and SNES seems to be true too and brings back even more good memories for me of my childhood, its like those things were made to never break and for the games if it didn't work I would but it close to my mouth and blow some warm air into it, I don't know why but it would make the games work! or stick the game in and then put it at a little bit of an angle and that would make the games work too. And ya like I said when you get older and you've played so many great games already in your life its like your mind becomes more selective and picky of what you want to play or what it will have a tolerance for like you said.

Of course you can take a day off! Any of us should be able to take time off. Just not all at once. That kind of prank would be too much for my weak heart.

How you all doin'? Game still fun? Even a little? Don't tell me the chatline is best part of the game (cause sometimes maybe it is!)

Good questions to ask DD to check moral of the alliance -lol-. I think alot of you will relate or feel similar for what I'm about about to say and answer. For me game is still fun, I like the in game alliance chatline, it keeps me sane on some days when have been playing this game for too long grinding, feeling like a zombie, or starting to feel tired, I will take a break and see what everyone is up to in chat and then and the strength to go back and play more. Some days I'll admit this game will burn me out. Like Friday night I was playing another game with a friend all night till 7am and I was ready to sleep, then I just remembered I barely played the pve The Simulator for round 2 and it was about to end in 2 hours so I stayed up another 2 hours to score high in it even though I was already tired and it burned me out -lol-. Went to sleep like a baby and woke up Loki pvp was about to end in 2 hours -lol-, So I spent the last 2 hours trying to get as high of score I could in the Loki pvp before it ended.

Sometimes I feel the developers keep making too many changes in this game when we already had a fun game going here. Some of the stuff I've seen that I don't like is they getting us less iso in pve from the reward you can get from each battle or in pvp they nerfed the pvp rewards you could get at the end. I remember before you just had to rank like top 25 or top 15 to get two covers, now they make it so only top 8 will get two covers. Another thing I wish is they would make all the pve and pvp event end at the same time. Sometimes for me they end at my 9pm or 9am. So I just wished it would be a set time and not rotate so much. Besides the stuff I dislike though this game is still fun for me though, before I was doing this alone so now being in a alliance with you guys makes it more fun for me and more motivating for me to play even when I'm tired, for each event that comes out I look at the rewards also and set goals for myself to reach as a challenge so that keeps me motivated also while having fun. I've been keeping an eye on everyones score in pve and pvp and I have been pleased with what I've seen. I'm sure sometimes this game will burn you guys out just like it does to me but I am proud to see everyones still been playing alot and racking up very good scores in pve and pvp. I'm proud to see that all of us here in Carebearstare truly are working together here so we can all benefit and get some nice rewards at the end of the events ^^. I think just a week back when I looked where we placed in Season 1 we were at like rank 130. I look right now and we are at rank 83 so that tells me everys still doing there part for the alliance ^^. If we stick with what we are doing right now in these events our alliance will definitely reach top 100 for the Nick Fury Cover ^^. So I just want to say we've all been doing very good in these events ^^, Great job everyone ^^. Nick Fury will not be able to resist the Carebearstare or my Boogerbearstare!, Nick Fury... here we come!

Im annoyed that we are not getting alliance rewards for the subs.
  • Alrighty... Still having in game chat issues... seems the keyboard does not come back up anymore, at all... icon_e_sad.gif

Anyhow, still active and kicking @$$. I managed top 5 in both easy and hard over the weekend in PvE.

    4 tokens!!

    And, wait for it...

4, that's right 4. You did not read that wrong 4!!!!!!

Yellow bagman tokens. Oh yeah!! I silently cried a little inside and sid to myself, hey if the game feels that strongly about it...

So I respecced from 5/4/4 to 4/4/5. And sold the other 3.

Second place in the Loki tourney at 906. First was 907. I could have taken first at any moment and considered it. I had a 44 point node waiting there for the last 5 minutes. all that would have done though, is let me sell off another X-force, so I let it go. (I felt generous). Besides, I was too busy tanking my roster.

Back to hard mode PvE. The 2K iso node has a spidey in it. Tanked it DOWN to now, 362 x 3. What the tinykitty!!! So, I reckon, gonna skip that node. And probably the one in easy as well. Probably gonna be in the upper 250 to 280s. So for 1K iso... screw it.

I am just trying to maintain my head above water in the Simulator. Maintaining top 25 for those Falcon covers. And here comes a Doom tourney. I reckon competition is going to be fierce in this one. More... Falcon covers... Really? They are really trying to shove him down our throats like never before...

So, get those ranknigs up and grab some covers in Simulator if possible. Doom tourney as well. We have to believe, whatever is coming next will involve a lot of Falcon. Store some Iso to level him as well.

God of Lies recap - look, see, stare! Rank #24 - we blew it out of the water! Amazing for our humble alliance. More Doom covers, more HP, more ISO! Thanks everyone for pitching in and helping our alliance.

Now for some alliance shout outs:
@Milkrain - tough break on the PVP and the #1 spot. But you're getting closer every time.
@RWTD - how are you getting those PVE scores? Are you grinding to the nubs? Is scaling under control?
    @user311 - sent you a forum PM
@Panduras - welcome back and thanks for the scores - but we need to get you some HP to buy some PVP shields. Hate to see you lose 200 points from your PVP high score.

I had some very odd (read: favorable) scaling on the last hard mode sub mission. 2 of the 3 essentials were easy the entire time and the 3rd was medium difficulty. On both easy and hard modes I played through every simulation once then I'd go back and hit the essentials only. I'd do the Easy mode essentials when they reached 300 points or more and I'd hit the hard mode essentials whenever they were above 500. Then the last few hours I played each one until the point value was below 150. That was enough to finish 1st easily on the hard mode and in the top 10 on the easy mode sub round.

The sub rounds this time look more like they should be difficulty wise. I'm sitting #2 in the main PvE so hopefully I can stay in the top 5 of each of the sub rounds and keep that overall #2 or regain #1 before it ends tomorrow.

Im so happy that the God of Lies is over. I have no idea how you all were able to get such high scores. Ugh. Every time I tried to use Loki skills was like watching Press Your Lucky and landing on the little whammy guy. If I was extremely lucky I would get a match but 9/10 I was just out a handful of Purple. In any case, I really needed the Blue Doom so it was probably for the best that I didn't do so well. Now Im trying to see what my new 70 Doom can do for me.

This Simulator event is hit and miss for me. I don't know whats up but is like there's a cascade increase option that they toggled. I guess my deathrate is supposed to have some benefit to my scaling but I havent even seen that yet. Oh, and yesterday I got the whole "all you ever do is play on your phone" from the wife.
