The morning of ENDLESS cascades and OBWs...

Never seen it before, hope never to see it again. My kids get up early. Dogs too. So, I get up, feed the kids and get the dogs ready for their morning walk.

Figure, I get in some early points in "Top Gun'. Well, the AI decided against that (to everyone I fed points to this morning, You're Welcome).

Seriously, 842 points and some good 25 - 29 point nodes ready to be taken down. So I start. Spidey/Mn. Mags/Falcon. First match - black. Than goes widow... Match 4 black + Espionnage and begins an endless cascade... Oh look a 5 match, still her turn... Team takes Heavy damage. Nothing to move on the damn board... Second match black... Board re-shuffle. Widow moves a 5 blue - Espionage. Begins another cascade... Ares -> Sunder -> Onslaught -> Rampage; Widow -> Aggressive Recon, Ant-Grav...

At this point, I am hurting bad... Falcon's gone... Spidey is bent over in pain and Mags is wondering what the hell just went on. YAR! 4 Blue. Couple of yellows. More Agressive Recon, Sunder and a second count down tile I cannot get to, with the team in front of me, full Health. Needless to say, next match ticked Ares Yellow sunder tile - Wipe!

Take it like a man. Swap things out. Throw down some Health packs and let's get those 22 points back. Toss in PunPun and Wolfie!

Replace Ares with Thor. Same result. Endless OBW cascades and spamming abilities with no way to get a decent freakin' match. Nothing. Really? Going to need to burn some boosts? *First dog is pooping by this point*...

This went on, burned through 9 health packs (thank you daily rewards); for 8 fights. I am now looking at my "first place 842" becoming a "9th place 703". Damn! Than it hits, boom! -41 points lost! Down to 11 under 700... ****!??!!

Thankfully, I got a few defensive wins! Yay +2, +4, +3... ? Really? Thanks for nothing.

I finally managed to rally back and up to 860...

But, what the hell was up with the AI, so called randomness of the boards this morning...

I am SO sick of seeing OBW and Daken in PVP. And they ae talking about introducing a Lazy Daken? Man, everyone is gonna race that one to 141...

That's my Tuesday morning rant. Sorry and tanks for offering a "CareBearShoulder" to cry on...

I really feel for you tonzil. I hope you get revenge on RNG soon.

I've yet to enter PvP still. I'm going to hold off til this evening I think.

This. And OBW and c.Storm together. I don't know what's up... I'm just not taking them seriously enough and then an AP steal and a Lightning Storm and bam! They've got AP to spare.

And why am I seeing level 85 Moonstones? When did that happen? Is that a thing now? I thought we collectively agreed she wasn't worth it. Then a surprise Photon Blast and I'm down a character.

I'm 32, married, first kid is on the way. 2 Dogs that also keep us busy.

I'm also an IT Manager, we have no requirement for ties, though, luckily.

I can get away with playing games on my work PC during the day (who watches the watchmen?), but my MPQ account is mobile only, unfortunately. I've been playing The Elder Scrolls online for the past 3 weeks or so, I have a bunch of friends that work for Zenimax so I thought I ought to support them

Besides video games I like working in my yard, gardening and landscaping. My wife and I watch a lot of TV shows, some of our favorites are Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.

I got lucky this morning and pulled a yellow Falcon cover from a token so I don't feel quite as pressured to get that 1100 point reward. I'm still going to put some effort towards it, but not going to be annoyed when I don't get it.

WHAT? AI used Storms Lightning Strike? I don't think I've seen that happen before. Usually green is always used by Ares/Thor/Wolverine.

I find it funny when facing OBW/c.Storm that OBW always uses healing over Wind Storm. I don't think I've ever been hit by a wind storm in PvP.

Moonstones Photon Blast is such an x-factor ability because it doesn't tell you up front how much damage it does and how often are you counting reds on the board so sometimes it can take you by surprise and wreck you. In the Hunt both Photon Blast and Devour were my biggest fears.

@ the Adams - So if your name is Adam in some form or shape you're guaranteed a Falcon? It's my dad's name so maybe I'll be lucky by proxy

On the verge of RAGE QUIT!

What the hell?! Seriously. So, the new simulator event starts... 2 nodes. Easy? (Whatever) and Hard!

So, I fire up the "easy node" and what am I presented with? Ares, Ragnarok and Bullseye... Level 395! Alright, what the hell. Knock them off in 10 minutes... OPen up the simulator event. Every node is 3 x 395. Every single one, without exception.

So, what's the point in continuing if "easy" is the same as "hard"?

I need to get the damn MMR ratios down, but nothing seems to be working...

Anyone got any insight?

Wow, that really sucks. They need to get this worked out, it's ridiculous. My enemy levels all see fairly reasonable, luckily. ~42 for unlock nodes

So, I am basically Dead Weight for you guys for this while tournament (I think). I am just going to tank my roster over and over and over agin for the next few days.

Maybe hit up some points in the "PvP Simulator" and work my way to that 10 Pack... About 800 or 900 points off of it right now...

There is no way, and nothing I have, that can help me beat 395 Spidey/Cap/Thor. Combined they have 60K health. I am not getting into the "Hard" portion of this tourney. So for me, this one is a simple write off (and a: you've been screwed out of Falcon covers).

Do you want me to leave and free up a slot? I know a lot of you would like to grab some extra falcons, and I will be of no help, mybe even a burden to the ranks...

Let me know and I will gracefully place myself in the corner of shame. This is such ****, it's not even funny.

Goodness... I think CareBearStare should do OK with you taking a break from this criminal abuse of scaling. You've certainly carried this alliance during past events, so don't sweat it and don't leave. The rest of us will fight on to nab the alliance prizes. Check in every now and then to see if the scaling fairies pixie dust the levels to something reasonable. Then sleep it off.

And if you DO find a magical PVE tanking strategy, let us know. That will be very valuable...

I think the frustrating thing about OBW cascades is that it's basically death by a thousand steals. If it's say Thor/Daken cascade, you just get a bajillion tiles on the field and have to eat 2000/1000/1000 (+tile damage on all of that) worth of damage and you just die instantly.

As for AI using CStorm green, yeah you never see that because the best offensive 2*s have green skills. Pair her up with OBW and there's no green user blocking her. CStorm green just compounds the frustration caused by OBW. I'd just RATHER her use Wind Storm to kill me instead of waiting for me to bring OBW down to 1000 health, then have it all healed up again.

And no, The Hunt has not messed with my brained, my brain was long gone far before that. I like PvE a little but it's too stressful and it feels like I'm playing it just for the sake of playing it. In PvP I can just let loose with all I got, but PvE is just playing bad on purpose (not that I need much help playing bad) and trying to game the system in a way to award me with covers that I don't want, but may eventually be needed to get covers that I want down the road.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PVE

Tonzil I've been religiously tanking every event. Last event I purposefully did not use OBW blue if I knew I was gonna win. My understanding is that personal scaling has something to do with damage dealt/damage taken, so flawless victories will scale you up rapidly, and losing will scale you down. With that in mind, I like to play against the lowest level Daken/Bullseye node as I can, target Daken and match purple/green whenever I can. If I do this right, I'll have my entire team down and the opponent will have full health by the end of it. Goon nodes is also a good source of tanking, as you can purposefully avoid their countdown tiles, and they tend to be the easiest nodes so the system will think you're terrible at the game when you lose to them.

For reference, I used L145 Cap last event, and right now my unlock node is at 34/35/35 and my hard unlock node is at 37/38/38. I'm sure Ben Grimm could tank even harder with his hardcore roster. Tanking SEEMS fruitless over the course of an event because it works in tandem with community scaling. The amount you personally scale down is probably gonna be slower than community scaling so even if you tank like a pro the levels will still seem to skyrocket.

I'm gonna join tomorrow. I don't care about winning, but I'm doing this in the name of science. Not sure if my last bracket was easy because I joined late, or whether it was just luck

Tonzil, you might want to try suiciding with your most expendable people. And fully suicide them; not just retreating. The problem is, if your "proper" level, as the game sees it, is over 400, suiciding may manage to be both technically working while not showing any effect. I'd also try working Customer Service; I finished top 5 in the last PVE and the highest level I've seen is 43.

He means Frisbee Golf (as us Europeans call it). You throw a disc into metal baskets out in the wilderness. You don't sweat much when playing it, just like real golf. It's just a hike through the woods with minor physical exertion.

It's great. I do it sometimes with friends, but not often enough.

Ultimate frisbee is fun too.

Well in the Top Gun event I got up to just over 900 points and then started losing points faster than I could gain them so I shielded up and accepted my fate. I'm satisfied enough having gotten lucky with my token draw yesterday.

Now to turn efforts towards the simulator events...
