I would like to say something. It is a selfish thing to do, aiming for the top place in a tournament you don't need the prizes for, just so that you can get the 3 *** covers which you are going to sell anyway.

The main brakcet reward is a brand new hero so no-one has the covers for it. If you mean the subs then how is someone going to try to win the BRAND NEW hero in the main bracket without doing well in the subs? Maybe you could level the complaint at ppl trying to win specific covers in PvP events they don't need but if ppl can't take part in those events what are they actually going to be doing? Replaying the prologue missions?

A week or two ago I was mad because someone was topping lightning rounds to create a second back mags for when he gets nerfed. At first I was thinking he was being selfish and should leave the mags covers to people who were building their first... But then I realized that I was being equally selfish for wanting the covers to build my mag. The tourny setup is all about being selfish - whether we want to build our ideal character, build a backup or sell it back for HP. It is not a group game and we are not able to help each other so the nature of the game is to be selfish and get what you want. If the selfishness of the game nd players really irks you, you should find a different game.

Or just get better and win it yourself. Honestly Mech I agree with your thoughts on this but that's just us and we have no place telling other people how to play. And if the day comes when I need a quick 75 hp and I have to do this I will and I won't feel bad because so long as I'm not cheating my win is legit.

And just to preemptively stop the eventual complaints about lower teams doing better because of their particular mmr (and similar complaints) this conversation is not the place for that. That is info that at the very least you and I have so if that type of stuff that is what is really bothering you maybe, like pandaberry said, the game itself just isn't right for you.

And this thread isn't the place for this so I'll shut up now

Yargh. Tried playing some of the maps this morning, but I'm getting the same thing that happens way too often: I'm able to make one move, then they clear half the board. Hard not to get frustrated.

No idea if I have to change the party I'm using or not, but it's seeming very unlikely I'll be able to get onto the Top 50 of this round like I have been.

At least you have Spidey and Mags. I don't have useable versions of either. Nor do I have Venom for the instagib (though I would need Spidey for that too).

I just tried to beat lvl 228 Rags / Ares / Bullseye with my go to combo of lvl 101 Hulk, 85 Thor and 85 OBW. Pointless. OBW was downed before she could get a heal off, Thor followed soon after. I'd fired off a couple of Thor's Reds, one Yellow and about 4 of Hulks greens - barely made a dent in Ares. Wasn't helping that any purple matches resulted in defence tiles of 116 strength each. These levels are basically a lock out without Spidey. How is that encouraging diversification of roster?

You can't balance the game with a character as strong as Spiderman is in PvE. Anything that's challenging without him would be trivial with him, and anything that's challenging with Spiderman is impossible without him.

Things aren't going to get better until Spiderman is nerfed.

I don't use spiderman and I don't find the game impossible without him. My primary team is Hood, C.Storm and MN.Magneto and I've been able to place top 5 or so in PvE and PvP...just because you believe spiderman changes the game doesn't mean it is so...i find him boring and matches take so much longer with him around. That's not to say I don't believe he should be nerfed, just that he's not the be-all-end-all of the game at this point.

I will gladly welcome the nerfbat to my favorite Marvel character as long as I don't feel like I would almost 100% need to have him to win against these lvl 230 fights. If they nerf spidey we'd better see a change in the mechanics of how these fights work cause right now you need to keep at least 1 if not two of the enemies locked down or they very quickly eat you. My poor Black Widow is quite the trooper going out there on the front lines trying to steal me some AP to get met with the AI miracle cascade and get blown up in 2 moves. lol

These level 230 fights are really quite the slog. I could potentially see being able to completely wreck them if I had a high level Marvel Now Magneto or Classic Mags to pair with Punisher/Patch and Spidey. Unfortunately both my Magnetos are in their 20s lacking covers to warrant me leveling them up. I have fun the first time through the map or if I'm able to come up with some kind of miracle win requiring luck and planning every so often but at this point after the last PvE event and this one my eyes are bleeding from the constant string of 10k+ HP enemies with moves that will 1 shot you if you don't make 100% sure you are able to deny them getting that specific color they need. Maybe we could have a couple of these styles of nodes mixed with a variety of levels and points just to mix things up a bit? Anyway, I'm rambling... Back to grinding everyone!

Hm I dunno if I'll get the 8K ISO reward. I'm in 1st in main. 1st in hard bracket and most of my missions are still giving 400+ tourney points. But I have zero desire to grind them down right now so I'm not and will wait for the night's refresh at this point.
