I know nobody wants to do the data collecting, but would it be possible to get some completion percentage stats? I'd love to see them for Failcap and MrF especially (compared to any/all of the other 4*s).

My 2 black cover reed tried once, did close to 1k damage.. going to save myself the angst, and try again next year on this one. So far, only 1 winner in my bracket, and he has a max reed.. but, still early, only 8am EST here.

L 150 4/3/3 Reed... So this isn't happening. As simonsez said, good team-up thematically, terrible one gameplay-wise.

My couple of tries did remind me of how overcosted Imaginaut is, though.
  • Just tried with my 4/3/0. No thanks they really want people to quit on the four star tansisition? My Reed had 8500 hp starting and WAS KILLED ON **** MATCH DAMAGE ALONE! Didn't even have to fire off a power.

Glad I quit paying for this ****.

I'm not going to even try with my 1/1/1 Reed, I'm just here for the horror stories and occasional victory story.

My 2/1/1 stood no chance. I would rank this as the 2nd hardest. Falcon was worse due to Marvel's cheap powers and chasing 2 of the 3 colors you needed. At least doom's powers are a little more expensive. But here is how it will play out

I'd say this matchup is far worse than Falcap's. A fully covered SamCap has a reasonably good chance of flattening Carol. A fully covered Reed is still going to be crossing his stretchy fingers and hoping to match damage Doom out before he gets any of his 3 powers off - blue leads into black which will bleed Reed faster than he can heal, purple is likely as not to one-shot him or come close to it.

Got a 4/2/3 Reed and 0 desire to bang my head against this wall. If I wanted to play something purely luck based, I'd flip coins and save myself the frustration.

I will say they are equal. But yeah if you were lucky to get 4 or 5 red you had a shot. I think only a 5/5/x is the only chance

Why is everyone struggling so much with this? Just go in boosting all colours X4, Match Damage +150%, deny purple, blue, and black, and remember to equip the super secret teamup slot with Whales, Whales, Whales......

I mean seriously people....it's not complicated!!!

Note: The above might not be possible - just like this battle

I did it second try with 1/3/5 lvl 160 Mr f. Very very lucky and very surprised I managed it. Basically concentrated on denying doom his colours he did get his purple off but I was able to match away 5 purple tiles the turn before he did as I knew what was coming. He had his attack tiles out as well and he'd matched away my black countdown tile which healed me. Wouldn't want to have to do it again though. Red hulk buster for my troubles which I have maxxed need any other colour! :s

I am starting to think this is THE WORST of all, at least with a well covered CapFalcon if you fired yellow+red you would probably win, here firing blue+black gives you nothing :S

I have tried now 5 times, I have even leveled a bit more my RR to lvl 167 (4/2/4), and I am starting to think It is going to be IMPOSSIBLE for me. You need to deny Doom 3 colors! And the worst of all, If you are lucky and cast black then you need to match green, red and yellow, colors that you cant use for nothing!!! So you need to match other colors and give Doom more time to get to fire ANY of his powers! And purple does so much damage that with just 3 traps he will probably kill you.

I am starting to think that even a 5/3/5 220+ lvl RR is going to lose against Doom.

Right now I am really angry at the devs. This seems like the first Galaktus fight again. They don't have a clue about their own game, how can they think this is a fair fight?!?!?!?. And they keep doing this **** in DDQ4 and they don't say anything about it!

5/2/5 lvl 140 Reed here. Failed multiple times. Closest I got was without 100% damage boost where I managed to get out two count down tiles dealing close to 1k a turn. Doom was down to 3k, so three turn away from defeat. However he managed to turn all blue tiles to black, matching away my countdowns. With all the black ap, he then summon demons twice. I was dead in two turn from full health. Re attempted with 100% damage boost but could never get close. Once the boost ran out, I never made him drop below 10k. If only I had boosted that time (I always play 1-2 without boosts to get a feel of the match up first).

It's for a legendary token--it shouldn't be easy. People grind away at PVE's for days to earn one. You think they're going to give them away in a 5 minute fight?

My 1 black cover Mr Fantastic denied him powers for over 10 rounds, firing off my black and wearing him down with an abundance of yellow/red/green match damage to a lowly 14K health. At which point DOOM LEFT IN DISGUST (via Diabolical Plot).
  • I get it shouldn't be easy, but if I'm wasting ALL my 20% match damage boosts, a dozen +2 all color boosts, and several other +2 ap boosts and can't get him past 6k with a 1/1/5 lvl 156 Mr Fantastic, then it's a **** matchup.

Rich get richer and the devs try to get the poorer folks to pay money for more covers/boosts to win. It's all greed.

W/e. They aren't getting anything from me.

I knew I wouldn't win, but did try a boosted level 115 1-1-3 Mr Fantastic against Doom. I was proud to get doom down to about 8000. Then he cast his Diabolical Plot to destroy me in one shot. Adding insult to injury, he summoned demons while I was dead to molest my broken body. The designers must love reading our horror stories about how none of us can win these matches.

While this is impossible for 99% of us, I would like to say Mr. F is not as bad as everyone is stating. He actually goes really, really, really well with Carnage.

First they don't interfere with colors. Second Reed's black actually works well as Carnage can match green and red. When carnage fires red and damages reed, it's not that hard for the AI to match one of your many Carnage tiles and he gets most of his health back. My 2/1/1 was almost a perma heal as the AI just kept match tiles and Carnage kept creating more. Throw in the stun from Reed and the shields to reduce some of the attack tile damage and they are actually a potent duo. In fact unless you are shield hopping and using IMHB as a Carnage boost, this might be currently the best partner for Carnage. if you could have a Fantastic 4 as a 3rd then yellow is even better, but try these two and you will see he's pretty good with the right partner

He's bad and you should feel bad for liking him.

3/3/4 150, haven't been able to get Doom below 8k yet. Even with getting the blue/black to trigger most matches, the black rarely survives long enough to make a difference.

Fortunately I've only got a couple hops in PvP to do, so I can bang my head against the wall all day with this.

I just wish there was a consistent vision for how difficult these fights are supposed to be. If they're meant to be this hard, fine. Screw them, but fine, we'll get used to it. The problem is some of them are downright easy, and some of them are blindingly difficult.

My Reed Richards has 7 covers. To me, that's around where these things should be doable. I got close enough once that I could see how it would be possible with an extremely lucky board. But I ran out of boosts and I'm not willing to spend HP on this nonsense. Meanwhile I've won some of these nodes with only 4 or 5 covers (Invisible Woman, Deadpool, Professor X), and struggled with some where I had more than 7.

My 0/1/3 lvl 70 Mr. F molded himself into a baseball so that Doom could just cut to the chase and hit me out of the park.

In other news... Only 6 in my bracket has defeated him after 3.5 hours. That is way low.

Who did it? (not naming names, but here are the builds)

    1) 5-4-4 lvl 195
    2) 5-3-5 lvl 187
    3) 3-5-5 lvl 217
    4) 4-3-5 lvl 200
    5) 4-3-2 lvl 173
    6) 5-4-1 lvl 172

Just another in a looooonnnnnngggggg line of things that make me ask "Why exactly do I bother with this horsekitty?" Honestly, I'm pretty much out of answers....
