Maybe Demiurge could hire him. Not when he grows up; right now.0 -
Lboogie wrote:Spoiler alert....but did everyone enjoy the 202-232 human torch wave node consisting of yelena venom and juggs followed by bullseye daken and moonstone. What do i get for this a std token and the opportunity to wipe to G again...and still the galactus hunger token sits and waits. This event...i cant say anything that hasn't been said time and time again in this 20 page forum. Not fun at all. Maybe simulator will be better than this again...and i despise simulator. Please devs you know what you have to do...please make this up to us....PLEASE!!!
Used Hood and Cage with HT on that node and just played mana denial while building up big hits from HT/cage. Wasn't the easiest node, but was actually a good challenge IMO.0 -
The problem with that juggs survival node isn't the node per se. It's not the hardest node we have ever seen. But the devs have now expressly stated that these nodes aren't supposed to be challenging, since we are supposed to be bashing ourselves against the Galactus node.
And a 200+ survival node starting against juggs and co instead of goons is likely to soak up some health of nothing else.
The whole design of this event seems a bit punishing relative to rewards offered.0 -
It was really smart of them to make the HP sale available before the event started. I don't think i'd have given them 50,- € knowing this.
Also, it's ridiculous the devs look at the forum and take away all strategies players come up with to beat the new boss. It's just poor that they couldn't come up with the same ideas while creating the event and even worse that they punish the players who make constructive posts on this forum and discuss strategies here by blocking those strategies and make it a harder encounter. D3 deserves that this forum becomes an empty waste except for rants, complaints and error posts.0 -

He has millions of health... just one encounter has less.0 -
Current Galactus strategy:
Send out Captain Marvel. Let her get hit by 3 countdown tiles. Generate 15 Red AP in the process. Fire two Torch (Classic) Fireballs. Retreat.
It's actually pretty reliable damage, at least. If I get some red, I can toss in another.
No idea who to put as a third, though.
And it'd probably be better if I had more then 4 Marvel covers or 3 Torches...
And I can't think of anybody on my roster who'd be a good third. OBW for a prayer of getting multiple 5 of a kind blues to get a few more turns?
It's consistent damage, at least. If I had 5 Hulk I'd try to see if three Angers did anything worthwhile.0 -

Three angers provides an average of 9-12 green. It's not awful, but it could certainly be better. With Juggernaut you can actually semi sweep the board. At least enough to live. Some people have been having a lot of luck with
Hulk Juggs PX.
PX Hulk GSBW
Juggs Hulk OBW.
I haven't but my luck is awful anyway. Though Hulk (Classic) Storm, and HT did actually bring me a win post round 5.0 -
DayvBang wrote:So I can believe that the players are meant to lose over and over. Considering that's the result here, and someone like me who's been playing for two years and has a deep roster has to use strategies that really ought to be nerfed just to eke out even a chance of winning, clearly you achieved your desired goal.
It's a bad goal.
The designers of this game love to talk about what "story" the matches tell. So let's look at the story this event tells us:
The heroes try to defeat Galactus. They fail. They fail again and again. Eventually, this stops.
That right there? That is a bad story. Try this version on for size:
The heroes try to take on Galactus. They fail. They try harder. They fail again. They look for new solutions. Maybe Mr. Fantastic builds a new machine. Maybe Silver Surfer defects from Galactus to help save the Earth. Maybe the heroes convince the villains to help fight a larger threat together. Against all odds, the heroes win.
I'm neither a writer nor a game designer, but that feel like a better story to me.
And now let's discuss the gameplay of this event... actually, just reread the thread above. It's terrible.
After just one day of this event, I'm tempted to walk away from the game for another six months or more.
So while the story of the event has a certain logic, it falls woefully short of compelling and is not fun. And although I have other complaints, I will not bother voicing them; my fellow players have done that perfectly over the last 20 pages.
20 pages, D3.0 -

"Greetings D3 Go ! Customer,
Thank you for contacting D3 Go ! Customer Support.
Our deepest apologies for any frustration or inconvenience we may have caused. It is understandable that some players dislike the functionality of the Galactus Hungers or other boss featured events, but the majority of our users enjoy the current system and it's mechanics which an alliance can participate in fighting against a common enemy."
I wonder what metric they use to measure enjoyment
At D3, fun is measured by how much we frustratedly throw ourselves against a futile goal in order to even remotely have a chance at getting something we want. The more frustrated you are, the more fun you have!
Hell, they are probably looking at this thread right now and confirming that we really are loving Galactus, since we're making so many posts about it.0 -
AWESOME!!!
Viking Tacos' son from the other post summed it up perfectly - "dumb mess".
That's needs to stickied to the top of the forum or something. Or put as some sort of pop up on the loading screen. Maybe when the Silver Surfer flies in - it could be a banner trailing behind him.0 -
Oh look, more proverbial salt-rubbing in the wound.

I'm just adding my voice to the pike. Anniversary event sucks. I had money set aside for hp and was hoping for something awesome to spend it at. Like bundle deals or awesome tokens. Not hoing to happen.
The event is poorly designed and rewards are dissapointing. And with 30 sec , 3 rounds fights i wish it was any other week this week. Usually i get to grind pve on th weekends and this time i dont have even that0 -

Long term reader of forum.
Just wanted to add my voice to the rest that this event has been dire.
It is just a cynical health pack destroyer where the rewards don't sync with the effort put in0 -
I'd love to see the rosters for the testers who are classing the subs as "relatively simple" because I cant even get to the point of getting my **** kicked by Galactus since level 188 Jugs and Mystique are battering my roster to pieces!
This is frankly the worst event I have ever played on a game. I cant wait for it to end! Whoever thought 1.2 million points was achievable for a legendary cover was clearly drunk!0 -
For the privilege of being destroyed by Galactus (round 4!!), we now must complete 3rd stage Gauntlet level fights against over-leveled villains being fed complementary AP by goons.
Yeah... I tolerated this for as long as possible, but I think I'm out. This is clearly only meant to be achievable by people with deep, high-level 4* rosters. Us 3* players haven't got a prayer.0 -
So I have read about 12ish pages of this topic. What I think the issue truly comes down to is that the difficulty and the rewards do not match up. If they wanted to give us a challenge this hard I would be totally fine with it as long as I could see some reward for the effort. You don't get anything for dying against Galactus except points, and if you do happen to down him? Well after the first time you get 20iso (or 40 I don't remember if it's double). Last year I was flowing in Iso during the anniversary, and I'm just really bummed out after this one.0

I don't have a 166 roster and neither does my alliance. We are on round 4 still and I gave up on the event itself yesterday simply because of the rewards (as did most in my alliance). Also the main boss fight isn't fun for me or anyone in my alliance, I can get lucky and win with OBW/jugg or just lose and spend more healthpacks. I don't think that is good design for a boss fight, even though we aren't supposed to kill him in one fight it makes it frustrating to spend my healthpacks on the fight instead of something else like PVP or deadpool daily which is more rewarding in my opinion.
TL;DR
I don't like the rewards to healthpack/grind ratio. Forget 4 star cyclops, give us some 3 star rewards at least(the tokens mostly gave 2 star covers, no surprise there). Maybe this event is geared to high end players/alliances but it ended feeling like a colossal waste of time. No disrespect intended.0
