Thanks for bringing such a state of discouragement to the alliance I'm in. Thanks for bigging this up whilst being a complete disappointment. I wanted to drop some hard cash on this game but now.... Not so keen any more.

Ya gotta laugh. Finally beat stage 7 Galactus outright and my reward? 3 critical boosts! What in the name of all that is holy are critical boosts doing as rewards for those missions? I mean, that's some serious trolling. Kudos, D3! Kudos!

Aaaaah when after some wipes you finally manage to beat Galaktus in round 6 and then as a price for your victory (that thing you are not supposed to do, you know, win) you get a critical boost!!! Not 1000 iso, or a token, a critical boost!

I really think they are trolling us, this is all a very big joke. Where is the camera boys?

If beating Galactus was "intended" to be such a huge challenge and a rare victory, the critical boosts as rewards are just insulting. At the end of the event, pull the stats for victories and give each player a galactus token for each pack of critical boosts they pulled as a reward. Give them another 200 iso for every time they beat him and got only 40 iso. icon_cry.gif

For that matter, give alliances the reward for completing whichever Round they're stuck on when the event ends. It seems like a lot are getting to Round 6 and then just barely inching along doing minimal damage after that. With as hard as these fights are the alliance reward should be covers at the end of rounds 5, 6, 7 and a legendary token if you actually beat round 8.

    "Greetings D3 Go ! Customer,

Thank you for contacting D3 Go ! Customer Support.

Our deepest apologies for any frustration or inconvenience we may have caused. It is understandable that some players dislike the functionality of the Galactus Hungers or other boss featured events, but the majority of our users enjoy the current system and it's mechanics which an alliance can participate in fighting against a common enemy."

Not going to type out the rest, as that's the crux of the message.

Just want to add another voice to the cacophony of voices saying, this isn't fun. We are continuing to play out of alliance obligation, and even those of us 'doing well' are hating every refresh, every 'minor node', every boss battle, and every poorly constructed and insulting reward being offered.

I've spent more iso boosting every attempt than I've gained through all modes of play [not that there are ever spare health packs left to do anything with after Galactus]

I've burned 90% of all the tacos I had saved up fishing for health packs.

To the point, D3 had one thing partially right, because without the alliance dynamic I, and most people in general, would have walked away from this event quite a while ago.

About 3 hours til it's time to go back to losing as well as possible and spending the last of my resources to do it. 'Fun'.

KA Jedi may very well get 3x cyclops covers, as the numbers are looking good, but line chat on this event uses a lot of words like 'debacle', 'unfathomable', and 'ridiculous', but never the word 'fun' unless there is a 'not' preceding it.
  • Really? That's really tame language compared to our line chat.

Rarely post, but I want to add to the pile, so that they don't just write it off as "a small but vocal portion of the user base that frequents the forum"

Day 658 for me, and this is almost as bad a cash grab as true healing (i don't want to give up on that one either).

I wonder what metric they use to measure enjoyment icon_question.gificon_question.gificon_question.gif

Hmmm. Obviously the forum represents a minority of the players but. . . . .

As I write this, this thread currently has 353 replies. I went through and, even with charitable interpretation, only 29 were positive or neutral.

The problem is that we are all still playing, and the people that dont come to the forum is probably playing too, so the numbers of people playing will be very high. So if the only think you look at is that, statistics, then we are all having the time of our lifes!

The people of the forum are a (very) vocal minority, but a minority nonetheless, and obviously, all of us are bitter misanthropic trolls, who have no friends, and do not understand how to be happy or enjoy product. Why else would we get so upset over a phone game, and then lash out at everything on the internets. Clearly we are but a fraction of a fraction of the player base, as EVERYONE loves this event.

(Though 1/1 is a fraction so make of that what you will.) End sarcasm.

Must be the amount of players. If that's, the only way that they understand that we are not satisfied with the game is we boycotting it.

I'll pop in as well. Playing just about a year. My alliance is into round 7, so we got a Cyclops cover. Yay for us. That's about all we are happy with. The in-game chat is all negative. Ultimately Galactus battles are BORING. After going 0-6 and running out of health packs I"m suppose to go play PVP? Hahaha, yeah no. I have no characters left!

My alliance is a top 100 PvE alliance, that can get top 50 from time to time. We have players that rank top 100 in PvP. We are an above average alliance, not quit elite, but better than most.

30 hours to go and we still have 1 million health on stage 6. All 20 players are playing every open node we get. I do not see how any alliance outside the top 10 will clear 8 stages.

Frankly, the experience is so poor most of us are talking about not even playing stage 7 when we eventually clear 6.

I hope the devs realize what a fail this has been. It was a great idea, just very poorly executed.
  • Ok I get it. This is my summary of what IceIX said.

    "Hey all,

    IMG_0136-540x304.jpg"
  • Ice, two thoughts on Galactus' lore-based invincibility being the impetus for the design of this event:

    1) Yes, he's supposed to be nigh-invincible. But this isn't a comic book, where the heroes use the entire world's collective knowledge, power, and an Ultimate Nullifier device. We get 3 people, and little colored tiles. He needs to be appropriate to *this* world.

    2) If you're going for an epic, super-fantastic RPG tale of good vs. evil and heroism...where is the story? You can't say "this is how it should be because of the backstory", and not give us any narrative to justify it! 3 rounds of tile moving in 30 seconds of gameplay does not a tale make. (And as more posters than I can count said: "Not fun.") Give us the characters talking to each other. Agonizing over the dilemma. Maybe cutscenes between the rounds, or explaining the sub-nodes. Then a heroic conclusion where we figure it all out (some interesting puzzle), and save the day! Not banging your head against the wall for *no reason*.

    Sadly,the advice is:

Do as much damage as possible - you will lose. Kill the nodes and repeat.

My advice. Use lowest level characters you can afford to wipe. Do some damage, and repeat for all essentials. On the last use your best team and do as much damage as possible.

    Leave until reset and repeat.

I was lucky and wiped galactus on round five with maxed juggs, and 2*stormneto. Total fluke. Not come even close since with the same team. Save your healthpacks. Use shite you can afford to lose.

Awful mechanic design. Awful disguised reasons for it. If you want people to spend money on this game then make it better.
