  • Why do you think his blue skill is bad now? I'd prefer a 5/3/5 build if I have someone with a better red ability. Currently I think I only have 2* Wolvie for that. Although I'm not too sure since his purple doesn't seem to trigger a whole lot. I got a 3 consecutive 5-of-a-kind in a game today but it was just luck. I think his blue's 5th not worth it for one more turn stun. Thus, 4/5/4 is a good build imo.

5/5/3 is the only bad build. Not taking the 4 purple countdowns neuters him unnecessarily. I've settled on 4/4/5 personally, if I ever get the 5th purple.

Having used him a ton now, I would still say 5 purple is a must, even if it's not the 'utility' build of 5/4/4 that pairs with anyone. That extra turn is an eternity when it comes to dealing 3600 and sometimes 7200 damage (w/ Mags). Too easy for those tiles to get wiped out and really limit the effectiveness.

4 maxes his red damage, so he needs at least that. When I have used him so far, he's been with better red users (boosted FatThor, Mags), and the red became situational enough that I don't need the extra turn when I may or may not launch it. Not to mention @ 4 blue, you pick up the countdown timer reduction, with abilities that benefit more from launching faster.
  • Used Hawkeye 3/5/5 with GSBW and TinnyThor a lot in the Earth's Mightiest event. Lots and Lots of purple countdown tiles!

I did find myself wishing his Blue countdown time was lower since it would've been more useful at neutralizing maxed Hulk in time for the pummeling.

FINALLY, there's a power that rewards me for being able to play 3 moves ahead.

Hawkeye/Hulk/Thor was the most fun I've had in a while. I forget which PvE Hawkeye was buffed in, but it was great. Having a countdown on EVERY purple really screwed with mooks.

I'm totally on board for a 3* "Lazy" Hawkeye (or whatever gross looking amalgam the forum will dub him with; let's hope for Cockeye). 2* just doesn't have enough HP to be viable with my 166's.

I need speed shot. Give it to me.

    Great job on that, devs.

Agree, SS is a great passive. Whenever I faced a 2* team with him in it, I would target him first. Cos the AI is great at getting match 5, and it hurts when the SS activated

Seriously though, can you guys stop making silly amalgams? Thorverine, Patchneto, and Laken all sound like **** high school rock bands where the kid on drums has asthma so he has to take a break after butchering the intro to Hot for Teacher.

And you're all like 50. Should be done with saying things like Brangelina.

Actually AI almost always avoids making a 5-match unless it is a straight line 5-match. I agree SS is good though. Now to get them 2 extra covers for it. I'm using 5/5/3 from before. I liked the old one with DA Daken but I'm glad that buggy "Avoid" is gone at the same time.

Totally agree. It's tons of fun.

And I'll bet that Magneto's infinite blue crit machine was probably the reason it took so long to introduce. For me, this was more than a fair trade.

True, but it always feel that they can good cascades that lead to match 5. Yeah, I know it's confirmation bias icon_razz.gif but it does feel like it.
  • Avoid is a tumor in comparison to the awesomeness that is Speed Shot. The old move will not be missed.
Also, MagNowTo has a new play partner in the star.pngstar.png realm. Hooray for him.
  • When I saw that he was worth 550 HP, I sold him immediately.

    I'm surprised more people haven't,actually.

We need more abilities that have the fun factor of Speed Shot. Proves that MPQ can have enjoyable and flashy abilities that aren't stupidly OP. Big thumbs up to the devs who designed it. Bravo!

I do wish it was a black passive though (the "fun" or "tricky" color), and they gave Hawkeye a purple active instead of blue. Fits more with 1* Hawkeye color theming.
  • Agreed. I don't even know why, it just feels fun. Instantly turned Hawkeye from a throwaway to a regular on my teams.

EDIT: Being able to smartly place countdowns for red and blue also helped a whole lot.
  • I am a bit ambivalent about the changes in Modern Hawkeye. After some play testing in Lightning Round, I switched my MHawkeye to a 355. Not b/c I find his SS easy to trigger, because it isn't, but because his blue is the least valuable ability since damage has been removed. If I can trigger SS, then yes it's like an instant death ability on the target enemy. And I've ended some matches b/c of a SS trigger. But I find him to be rather squishy due to his relative low health. So I would need to put a meat shield like a She Hulk or rely on Colossus yellow to keep Hawkeye alive just in case I get the lucky 5 match.

He's great for pve, but of limited value for a pvp rotation.
  • I like him. I sold him for the ISO and HP but then went up against him in a pvp. Would have been quick work in the past. The AI team hit a double critical cascade early and it did not end well for me. Still in the process of getting covers and leveling him up. Seems like a 2* Daredevil with a bit of Sentry.

I also like the fact we can now pick the location for red and blue. Much more likely to actually go off.
  • I disagree that his blue ability is the least valuable. I used him with MN Mags and Punisher and his blue wrecks opponent team. I have him at 5/5/3 but considering either 4/4/5 or 5/3/5. By the time I'm ready to use his red, I've already taken out a guy from the enemy team. Instead of using a 1335x2, I collect a bit more and use MN Mags single target red for more damage and AP generation.

This one needs to be fixed also.

    Currently states:

"Hawkeye nocks multiple arrows and lets them fly. Is on now bro.."

    I think you meant "its"

'It's on now, "bro."' might be better.

The "bro" reference and the "typo" are supposed to be an Easter egg for people who have read the modern Hawkeye series. The dim-witted mobsters in that series say little moe than "bro" and don't have the best command of the English language. "Is on bro." is actually something they would say.

Unfortunately, whether you know the reference or not, it reads like Hawkeye is the dimwit.
  • It was intended that way.

Is that really the description? I thought Clint got his schooling in a circus, not a fraternity...
    Yep, that's on purpose.
