    Yes, you don't understand....

Sorry that agreeing with you is insulting you.
Fine, I mistook your tone. Too much internet I guess.

So first I should go ahead and admit I'm a little bit salty icon_e_sad.gif about failing Loki PVP, but this question has been brewing in my head ever since D3 said they'd make 4* more accessible:

Can 3* players hit PVP Progressions? Namely, 1000 and 1300?

It seems like the only people who can reliably get to 1000 in PVP are 4* players because they won't be attacked as easily

Raisinbman - just wanted to you to update this... Noticed you in my top 10 for hood... 1160 final score... What did you do differently/better?!?

    * can't get the image to upload from my phone, but Here is the leaderboard

Raisinbman- once again a strong finish... 1198 in my top 10 in Psylocke... You're getting closer (and I find myself rooting for you...)... Curiously I don't remember seeing your score move much (if at all) today... Did you give up on 1.3k?!?

Full scoreboard here... still can't figure out how to upload an image from my phone...

I had a bad shield hop...gained 60 points as soon as I lost 60 points, lol. But yeah, it seems like if I could shield hop 1 or 2 more times I'd get 1300 for sure!

PS: Impressive score. I saw you at 1300 then went to sleep and you were like....2000!

You can't upload images directly to a forum post. Instead of url tags on your imgur link, use img tags instead and the image will show directly in your post.

I went from 664 points to 1010 in just under an hour before the end of the Psylocke PvP with a level 290 Psylocke, a level 166 Patch and a level 200 Loki.
So yeah, it's entirely possible to get at least one 4*. Required a bit of luck in my last fight, but I beat that 290 Psylocke/270 Nick Fury/250 X-Force team handily.

As a number of folks have already pointed out - yes, it is certainly possible to hit 1000. The 1300 progression is harder without multiple shields and well timed hops. I tend to try to go for 1000 and I'm satisfied with that (usually a top 10 or 25 placement).

I us a MOSTLY 3* roster. I do have HB with 11 covers, but he's not my go to character. I try and utilize a rainbow combination of whatever characters are boosted. In most events I have between 1-3 boosted to choose from, as I have about 15 3*s at 140 or above.

Since i can finally add to this thread, i will.. i have 0 really usable 4*'s and today, i did this:

    WHoZVF9.jpg

IMHB is now tied with PX for my most covered 4* at 1/5/3, PX is 2/5/2 (no idea what's up with 2nd colors), 3rd is 4/3/1 WXF.

now that i know i can do it, even with having under 10 maxed 3*'s (going to max 1 or 2 more today i think) , i hope this can happen more often.
  • A big part of how hard is to hit 1k for weaker rosters is the weekly buff rotation. I have no usable 4*, 9 maxed 3*s then another big group in the 150~115 range. Some weeks I have to spend all my iso into my best character of said rotation, to not mention level up a bit more each featured if needed, just to have a decent team to climb using lv200s up. Anything less than that, be 166 or under, and you are an easier target.

And even so, with two 240+ and one on 200s or 166, I'm constantly attacked. Depending on the team people try and lose (this Psy pvp got me a lot o defense wins surprisingly). Just they trying shows that they most likely could win but the AI cascaded them to death (loki heh).

So not only a broader roster can net 1k easily, but the RIGHT roster can do it too on earlier steps for transitioners.

    Shionsinx makes a good point.

While some teams are sufficiently good that they can be played with regard to the weekly boosts (most notably imhb/if), early 3* transitioned will often be in a feast or famine situation. If you happen to have a couple of the boosted 3*s for any given week near 166, then you bcc an probably get up to or near 1k with a little work. But if you don't have any of the weekly boostedsboosteds, you will be hot an awful lot above 700.

This new system really does reward deep rosters.

its an interesting beast because, ultimately, it seems to depend on the event.

And as usual, it depends on how many points you're worth.

It's hard to draw anything conclusive from this....more efficient characters being powered up(cage, fist) help me move faster, but that's about it.

Then again, speed is everything around here.

I think it's the opposite, this system helps shallow rosters on occasion. The deeper ones always had, and should have, an advantage. But if you happen to have a couple buffed for the week that work well together then you can go much farther than we used to be able w/o weekly buffs.

I think I fall on Vhailorx's side with this one. Prior to the weekly boosted, you could bring 2-3 3* characters to 166 and still be somewhat competitive, assuming you maxed some of the more powerful characters. Now, that strategy only really works on the weeks they are boosted. I think I've gone from 14 maxed 3* to 21 since the beginning of last season, and I usually at least have 2 of the weekly buffed maxed. I have eventually had the feature maxed in every PVP the past two seasons besides 4* and Falcon.
  • But now instead of only 500ish score I see 2* buffed teams on 700s. Can't say I remember them constantly higher than that but I've seen 2* teams on higher 800s a few times. Ares is a pain with 9k health and always throws a red on low health.
  • they've made so many pvp changes its hard to say....I used to be able to keep top 100 w/ 166 blade daken and no shield, but didn't progress as much. Now you must shield or even 2* players will tear you apart.

I think pvp is healthier but I'd still like the ferocity of attacks during shield hops/point gain when against shielded opponents addressed
