Can 3* player hit PVP progressions?
So first I should go ahead and admit I'm a little bit salty about failing Loki PVP, but this question has been brewing in my head ever since D3 said they'd make 4* more accessible:
Can 3* players hit PVP Progressions? Namely, 1000 and 1300?
It seems like the only people who can reliably get to 1000 in PVP are 4* players because they won't be attacked as easily.
So, part of me is trying to figure out...if I need 4* to not get attacked in PVP, how do I get those?
I got the professor x from sim, no problem there.
I got the free ant man cover, no problem there.
I can sometimes hit 1000 in PVP if the stars align and it's February 33rd. Other times I can't even get past 800.
I'm saving my taco tokens(when I don't use them for health packs) to be used to "guarantee" a 4* character.
My other option is to just make sure I have every 3* character level 166 so I won't get attacked as much, but even still, that's not as good as having a 4* character.
So, both of my options, taco tokens and fully maxing out every 3*, are very time consuming....so it'll be a while before I can get that down.
I've tried to shield hop, but I guess I just need to face the fact my roster isn't scary enough.
I know I've heard whispers of being in Fight Club to get to 1300.
What are your experiences with PVP?

A 3* player absolutely can reliably hit 1k. I've made it to +1k before using a shield every event this season, twice I've been able to hop to 13000
-
I always hit 1k and i only have elektra fully covered in 4* land. Its all about timing and finding good queues. Doesnt hurt that im in an awesome alliance family that communicates well.
1300 is a bit more tricky but still very doable in 3 or 4 hops. Just have to find the big targets. I just hit 1300 in loki using patch/IF the whole time.0 -

Pick an active slice where 1k is peanuts. Climb to a comfortable resting point where you don't get hit too much - it's about 700 for me usually, or a couple of hits don't really hurt anyway. Pick high value targets, wait for health packs to recharge, make a run for it. If I'm feeling insecure or get hit, I shield at 900, if not I can pass 1k before shielding.
Once shielded, hunt down the highest value targets you can, 60-70 if possible. 2 matches per hop usually works for me. Any more than that has a high chance of getting sniped. If there are people bouncing off your shield stay in until they stop.
Only been a few covers at 1.3k I wanted this season, but haven't missed the ones I have tried for yet. I have used 3*s almost exclusively.0 -
Agree w/ the good doctor here. I've gotten all but 2 of the 1k covers this season, generally with some combination of IF and a boosted character. I got to 1.3k once (Black HB cover) with IF/CMags maxed and a 130 CMarvel, tho that took more than a few shields. I can usually get to 900 or 950 before the deluge, shield there, and then use a 3 hour shield (if I'm at 900), or just break at 4 minutes left and do one fight per break.0

A solid three star roster with three boosted characters can definitely make the climb now. Be prepared to see a ton of IF/HB at the upper plateaus and definitely hop if you don't have fully maxed xp characters.
I've been pleasantly surprised how doable 1k progression is this season with capped 3 stars.0 -
Yes 3* can and do, the biggest issue is having high leveled 3*.
With boosting sure your iron fist gets bumped, but so does every one else's, and those that have it leveled still have that edge.
So it is all about base levels IMO and 2 is a minimum but the more you have, the more you will have the featured plus 2.0 -
The easiest way to hit 1k is to do so whether hopping or not before the last 8 hours of the event. Finding a high scoring bracket also makes life easier.0

re: high scoring shard. I've had difficulty finding those actually. Only 1x this season I landed in the official xmen slice, where folks are hitting 1800, and I was finding 50+ targets with regularity. Other than that, I would be lucky to find a 40 pt target.
I missed breaking 1k in hotshot due to a few lousy breaks during the final hops, but otherwise hitting 1k hasn't been an issue. I have yet to hit 1,300 though due to an inability to find high value targets.0 -

What do y'all mean by high scoring bracket? There's lots of high scorers at the end of the bracket but they're all shielded usuallypuppychow wrote:re: high scoring shard. Yeah: saying: "find a high scoring bracket" is pretty unhelpful.
I think better advice would be: give yourself plenty of time, if you can afford it
Like two rounds of health packs.
If that doesn't get you up to 1k then it's got to be close.
When shielded, continually check your nodes for +60 pointers and queue them for when your shields expire.
Like continually check, and save 3 separate high value targets on your three nodes.
When your shields expired, hit those 2-3 targets as fast as possible , shield, then repeat. So that's about 120 points a Hop and will be 75-150hp per hop. Yes; it costs money [+skillz] to get a high score.
I only hit 2 targets because I use a team that I can rely on, rather than deterrents, and so expect to get destroyed if I'm out in the open too long.0 -

You know raisinb. If you made a video on:
"Possible solutions to combating Hulk Buster Iron man Teams."
Traffic on that stream/youtubs would go though the roof.0 -
I've done it a couple times but always had to use several shields.0

HB/fist teams are pretty manageable if you have purple/black/red users of your own - especially black. Deny black and red, purple optional. If you keep taking black, even if IF uses his purple it will rarely make matches/cascades and then he's really just feeding your team more black ap. Kill IF first to reduce the danger of black acceleration.
In the unlucky event that hb manages to get his overdrive/punch combo on, let whoever has least health and is not your main dmg dealer eat it, or if your tank has health to spare. Poor Loki got in the way of hb a couple of times this God of Lies pvp, steve has also taken at least one big hit and then I hid him behind the others to keep him alive and do his thing with the shields.0 -

When you select a node, to the left of the "Fight" button there is a blueish "skip" button. Keep pressing that until you find targets of 50 points or more.dr tinykittylove wrote:raisinbman wrote:fmftint wrote:A 3* player absolutely can reliably hit 1k. Time slice 1 and 5 usually has the most high scoring targets. That's good for progression but worse for placement. S3 or S4 a little bit easier for placement but less high point targets.... Generally speaking.

and i disagree about 4 being worse for placement, unless you're saying it's magnified even more in 1/5. I will try slice 1 and 5 I guess I'm 1 right now in BOP.0 -

Aces is saying 4 is a slice where placement is easier and progression is harder because there are less high point targes in 4. I would 100% have to agree with that. The high point targets are usually in 1 and 5.
Heres how i would play if i were u.
1. Climb to a comfortable score. (Prolly 800 since thats when u said the hits start rollin in) and shield.
2. While shielded q up 3 50+ targets. (Look for big names in top.alliances because u know there scores wont drop)
3. When ready unshield and hit 2 of ur qs. And reshield at 900+.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until u reach ur desired score.
5. Collect rewards and celebrate0 -

Thank you for spelling out shield hopping. I have a feeling I'm shield hopping too slow because I get attacked anyway, but not sure what I can do about that(I'm already HP/Iso boosting).0 -
Well i had 1350 in s1 for loki and placed 18th. Thats typically top5 in s4. But we'll agree to disagree.
As far as boosting goes. Try using damage boosts instead of ap boosts. And remember defense doesnt matter its all about speed. Bring ap accelerators and offensive tiles generators to speed up the process. U really dont need to use the weekly buffed toons. I use some combination of patch/loki/fist/hood when hopping most of the time and im not afraid of any team out there. As long as the points are high enough im going to hit u.0
