PVE: Growth Industry

Do you guys not have perspective of people just picking this game up?
yes 4 stars are useful, even 1 cover, their matches outdamage everything 1 stars do and they make a tank for lower characters abilities.
4 and 5 round wave based aren't something easy for plays without maxed out 3 stars. They were aiming for an event based on a movie.
not everything added to the game with benefit players who are on day 300+.
No offence but wow. If you did it easy thats great but were you expecting round 8 ultron every node or something?
The event is fine, it's based so the average player can get through not just the ones on forums. It's a good idea in my opinion. More pve not based on competition is a good idea.0 -
Man, seeing everyone blow through the nodes and getting their cover is making me feel like a nub. I keep wiping on the 3rd node as soon as I get to Rag, Thor, DP. I've tried using Steve, Blade, Gamora
Steve, Blade, Hood
Steve, Blade, Spiderman all with no luck. Miss Marvel and her strategic command in wave 2 gets rid of all my specials and then she uses her red to get rid of my shields. By the looks of it, I may need the full 29 days just to finish this haha.

Scoring over 1500 in the Shield Sim isn't that difficult. Mostly because it doesn't seem like the hits really start to hurt until you get over 1600. I think they use a different formula for calculating losses than they do in regular PvP.0 -
Good way to release a 4* character. Some custom content. No outrageous grind and competition to get started. Get a relatively easy one to start and then if you want more go play the PVE and then continue to PVP.

SnowcaTT wrote:Has anyone compared to see if this is scaling? I have a 250/250/lots of 166.
Node 1 was 155/155/155
Node 2 was 185/186/185
Node 3 was "level range 151-163"
Node 4 was level 208/208/209
Node 5 was "level range 188-189"
Lots of folks said yes....must have global scaling as well? Looking back thinking maybe I want to try node4 again for the HP, already 224/225/224. Glad I did this event as soon as it opened!0 -
I just destroyed this on the first try. I used Steve Rogers, Grocket with 70 Antman. Antman actually did a majority of the work, I like his abilities and a couple of times I was able to grab 18 pink. Once I got Rogers blue stun going on the one Hero, the goons were easy. Grocket absorbed all the damage. Surprisingly the only person to damage me was Doc Ock destroying all my special tiles I made! It is worth noting that it does help that I keep my roster at level 110 so this final node was only lvl 100.
All and all, this is such a great way to release a daily/weekly/monthly 4*! Come on, just do it!0 -

Looks like I picked the wrong day to get Steve to 1660 -
puppychow wrote:I really like this approach, because 30 days is more than enough time for 2* players to luck their way past the last node.
Okay, in all seriousness I totally understand how players with a smaller roster would have trouble with this event. You absolutely have to build a strategy around antman. Do you bring meatshields to protect him while collecting aps to trigger his power? Or do you use antman as the meatshield and down the opponents via another means.
Or do you throw in the towel and pray for covers from events and/or vaults to get the characters to put up a better fight in node 5?
Oh the possibilities!
In actuality, this event is likely easier for 2* players. You are probably facing much lower level enemies, meaning that your level 70 5/4/4 loaner is going to be incredibly useful. When you are facing level 70 characters, a 4* level 70 is going to be a lot more useful than that same 4* level 70 against 145s or 175s.0 -
finished up Growth Industry w/ Level 118 America/Hood + Loaner. My final node was 145-145.
No real crazy setups in that last node besides Doc Ock being fed.
It's on my stream, of course, if anyone wants to see how it's done.0 -
Nemek wrote:I went with Steve Rogers and Hood - my go-to team for these long waves. Once you get a couple of Peacemakers down on the field, you basically stop taking damage. I also found pretty decent utility out of the 70 Ant-Man, nullifying opponent strike/attacks and generating some strikes/attacks of his own. Hood there just to get the AP a little bit faster and getting Cap's shield to return faster.
I followed your advice and it was pretty smooth. Level 140 Cap, 120 Hood and 70 Ant-Man breezed through the first two rounds with no damage (I took a few AP boosts). None of these characters use green so by round 3 the board looked like a Christmas tree. Ant-Man had been spitting out special tiles like crazy and once Doc-Ock got a hold of them my guys started taking serious damage. Round 4 was a breeze due to Ant-Man's Grow ability, one-shotting Bullseye, allowing me to take my time and build AP reserves. Unfortunately, due to all of the strike tiles, the AI died quick and I was thrown against Gorgon too soon. More damage followed but Ant-Man delivered another Grow knockout and I was able to keep all of my guys alive (Hood at 385hp).
While it will take forever to build up Ant-Man I have to say I really enjoyed his skill set0 -
puppychow wrote:My normal go to team for survival nodes is xf, rogers, obw. In the last node, I left obw off the team, bc her health was too low to survive for long. But yes, the key is to keep matching blues to launch peacemaker and get those protect tiles on board.
I used xf to soak up damage, and collected yellows to promptly heal him back up. Hood is okay if there are right colors on the board. xf gives you green, and therefore a rainbow team w/ antman/rogers.
I'll have to try that next time, I wrote on my previous post how I had no one to take advantage of green. Not sure if my X-Force is covered enough but we'll see!0 -
Final survival node with GSBW and Spiderman, was pretty simple. Protect, heal, stun, and then bombs away.0

BlackBoltRocks wrote:Wow that was absolute carnage. Somehow won Ant-Man using lv111 Patchverine and Loki along with the loaner, despite Loki dying at the end of the first round. Scott died at the end of the 3rd round, so I literally used Logan alone for the last two waves. The good thing about that is that Best There Is did loads of damage, and Scott's and combined with the from Berserker Rage and BTI meant every opponent thereafter got 2HKOed. Also very lucky that the three times I used Berserker Rage in those last two nodes, there were 0, 1 and 2 purple tiles on the board respectively
Btw how do I post a screenshot of that bloodbath via iPad or iPhone? Thanks!
I've always just emailed it to myself at work and then loaded it to an image sharing service. Don't forget to shrink the size down a bit, the forum doesn't need to see a 30 Meg picture of your board.0 -
Did it with my 147 Carnage (max green max black) and 123 KK (max yellow max orange). KK died on the last turn. Wasn't exactly easy, but wasn't insane either (though sentry did some serious damage to me, thankfully KK healed us back up).0

Have you tried Warheads Extreme Sour candy? I think you'd like it.0 -
Anyone tried to hit a node a 2nd time and not gotten 20 ISO? I think I've gone back for seconds 6-7 times across 3 different nodes and received 20 ISO every time.
Is my luck that bad?
Really appreciate the insult to injury by raising the scaling after getting that 20 ISO too so that the next attempt is even harder.0
