    Well, I finished the third sub about an hour ago. Had to use my fair share of Whales, but have to thank everyone for their suggestions. Some of the combinations that were suggested worked out really well, most notably Patch/Hood/Loki in my case. I have a lvl.70 4/5/4 Patch, lvl.64 5/5/3 Hood and lvl. 58 4/3/5 Loki with a surprising win over a lvl. 222 Sim 40 (Mystique/Juggs/Ares), and of course I had quite some luck the AI never got to 5 green or 6 red but I feel that's needed anyway if you want to complete the whole thing. It feels good to finally not be at the end of some insane match-5 cascades like I always (yes, ALWAYS...) have against Prof. X for instance, maybe some form of compensation?

    Anyway, glad I'm done and while Gauntlet is one of my favorite events I have to say that this one was definitely more difficult than the last 3. Could be something to do with the change in buffs for characters maybe, I don't know, but I wouldn't mind if they took the difficulty down just a little bit. Well, wishful thinking I guess...

    I have four nodes to go and the essentials. 2 days and counting. The cascades are like my own personal hell in this event. So far LCap and Falcon have been saviors but I don't know if they can take me over the finish line with the scaling as high as it is.

    Just found a very good way to clear HB/IF/Hood and Ultron/Loki/Shulk essential nodes. I used 166 lthor and 128 hulk plus essential hero. Tanked damage with hulk and spammed lthor's storm. Target priority:

    Hood>IF>HB. IF's exquisite technique ensured green cascade every turn.

    Loki>shulk>Ultron. I got lucky and managed to kill Loki before he could get off a second AP steal

    I got iron fist/blade/deadpool/squirrel girl/loki /punisher/Lthor at 105 lvl, rest are mostly ones with little covers..

    Hrm. There's no active red in that node's team. Take Blade, Loki, and IF or Punisher. Lay down your own strike tiles, use Loki to flip their tiles, and then drop Blade's purple.

    You basically need someone who either steals those special tiles you'll see all the time or someone like Doc OCt who when he matches stuff places down an attack tile... Anything with Daken, I think Doc Oct! But your problem here is Luke places down a protect tile each turn which reduces your match damage to pretty much one point every time... To counter this you need someone to steal their tiles, so Moonstone (her new black ability), She Hulk and others spring to mind. Loki is another one but you really need to time his black at the most opportune moment without him dying.

    I would take she hulk over doc oct because her green neuters the opponents AP pool, you don't want Luke firing off either his yellow or black as those will hurt... The advantage with these characters over others is even though matching green for their powers causes daken to place strike tiles, you want this to happen so you can steal them or match them to create attack tiles of your own. Doc Oct will be better in a sense this is a passive and doesn't require AP.

    You also need to look for someone who uses yellow AP, because you don't want that falcon taking yellow matches and buffing either Luke protect tiles or daken's strikes tiles as well as feeding Luke's yellow.. which you definitely don't want to go off!!! 2/3Thor is good but risky as you can end up with a lot of green tiles which just enrages Daken! Cyclops is useful as his yellow creates red tiles in which the AI team doesn't use for any powers! Is probably your best bet

    EDIT specific to your roster, you probably want to try Loki, SG and 3Thor. but time your Loki's black at the time when Daken has most strike tiles down. You might want to fire off SG purples before you steal them though if you have the AP available...

    Loki went down first but his reversal black skill helped me take down falcon n Luke ..thanks a lot..!! I seen ppl askin abt SIM 37and I hope I can manage through...

    I must have tried the Ultron node 50 times using teams people have suggested, haven't even come close, this last time within 2 moves Loki moved the 1 Ultron bomb on the board to the bottom, I'm done, a waste of time and Iso to me

    My GSBW vs AI Ragnarok. His Lightning Rod creates green charged tiles. My Deceptive Tactics matches 3 of them into a match-6 (or 7?) which promptly lets me Sniper Rifle his cyborg **** icon_e_biggrin.gif

    I'm stuck on the last 2 mystique essentials. Just tried your lthor/hulk combo. Didn't work because of board cascade for yels, bks. I'll try again in half a day. icon_cry.gif

    I'm down to Ultron/Loki/She Hulk. Gotten close to getting whales off, but She Hulk seems to clear me out every time she launches Furious Charge icon_e_sad.gif Tried some other teams suggested, but nothing close yet. Back to the drawing board!

    See if anyone can send you a whales team up, easiest that way, DP won't jump in front of anyone

    IW LCap MMags, boost +all +bp +yr if you can afford it. ~30-50% success rate when I tried it.

    Amazing advice, thank you dkffiv! Luckily I had one last retired +3 AP boost left so I was able to do +5 to all +bp. Used lcap blue to keep loki stunned while I took down Ultron so I didn't get AP stolen, and his blue/red to manage the bombs. Once I got Ultron, Loki fell soon after and it was able to keep she-hulk almost stun-locked. I did lose all my blue/red to She-hulk near the end and she got Power of Attorney off, but I finished with all heroes living.

    I love the Gauntlet because it forces you to come up with unusual teams like this. My favorite Punisher/Spidey/GSBW team helped me out a lot, I felt really smart when I figured out Hulk/3thor on the last IF node, and HT was the key to a number of battles which is really rare for him.

    Hello MPQ Community,

    I completed the Gauntlet today and only wish good luck to all those trying to get HB. I conquered the SHulk + Loki + Ultron node with PX and GSBW. The board layout was complete luck and I was able to rapidly cascade damage to Loki and then quickly dispatch SHulk. I hope MPQ addresses / balances future PvE contests so they are not dependent on board layout and personnel.

    3 nodes left to get my icon_humantorch.pngblackflag.png , if I can clear them all.

    Some combination of icon_magneto.png + icon_mystique.png and either icon_hulk.png or icon_blackwidow.png is proving effective enough. Mags' boosted red hits like a truck and generates tons of AP. Mystique purple + black hits hard. Hulk is a green outlet & HP sink (wish he had more than one black, though). GSBW is also a green outlet that can accelerate her single-target nuke (sadly I have just 4 covers in sniper rifle, not 5). Mags' blue shakes the board, or Mystique's denies RYG.

    It does mean if I run the three purple users, I have to choose what to do with the purple, which is actually kind of interesting, and I can't find a decent yellow user in my roster to run with them.

    3Thor, Hood, and Mystique got it done for me. Mystique's shapeshift will further help deny AP, and if you get off a masterstroke, it will one shot any of them. (if you have her covered/leveled)
