I never thought I'd say this, but maybe Daken is more help than 2* Wolverine. When a green match is made he places 2 trike tiles with strength 36 and he does it even on enemy matches. Wolverine needs 6 green and 3 red to place 2 of strength 40. So in a match-up Wolverine vs Daken, by the time Wolverine gets 6 green, Daken will have 4 tiles on the board.

He also heals 146hp every turn 6 or more yellow are on the board while Wolverine heals only if he is below 50% and only if you make a yellow match.
The time for Daken to shine has finally come. icon_e_biggrin.gif

It seems like all the enemy levels gone way down after the patch too.

Also Patch is now giving purple strike tiles to the enemy side like he's supposed to. Good thing I was able to match them quickly.

And in the second game I already killed myself with Patch. If he plants 3 strike tiles for the enemy, they hit for 500 damage each match. It's only safe to play if there are only 3 purple tiles on the board and you can clear them right afterwards. (Well ok, 4 might also be safe icon_razz.gif)

I have the update. I'm using Patch in PVP. He's still giving me 12 strike tiles.

You have to get the client update too.
  • Ah right I forgot about that. Can't grab it till I'm home anyway. But my desire to play this game has plummeted over the course of the day.
  • I just used the new feature which allows you to see another player's roster. In the top 10 in my main all players are mid tier players (like me). The hero with the highest level is in most rosters either OBW or Wolverine. What I find impressive is that they are new to the top 10 after the main missions opened (at least most of them). So I have to wonder what happened to all of us who were top 10 in the first 3-4 days? Did rubber banding sling shot the new guys up there and sent us to hell?

In the first few days you were lucky to get 1000 points per day, but if that rate was consistent nobody would be anywhere close to hitting the 20K reward, so it stands to reason there's going to be a major shakeup after the big points mission opened up. I wouldn't be worried too much about it. Right now you're just seeing a ton of volatility because you got 2000 point missions out there. But whatever enabled you to do well initially should still work at the end of the tournament. I went down to like 150th place and after doing the main missions once I'm back to 16th or so.

yes... yes it does... which is quite sad unfortunately... now its entirely depend how the system reset the score now... if you are lucky enough to grind the last minutes point to allow you to achieve top 10 in one go... or let the rubberbending take over and let you earn more points instead
  • To be honest, I don't care about myself because I skipped a rotation since I didn't have time t o complete it. I am making a slow push now trying to get max points.
I wonder about all the other guys and girls who were in top 10 and are nowhere to be found.
Oh, there is Buecherwyrm making his way up again. Phykopathic must be somewhere close then. I saw him at some point hovering near #30 2 spots above me. How the mighty have fallen. icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • Loving the ability to look at other people's rosters. Makes it much easier to see the cheaters competing with me in my sub-brackets.

Looks like abusing the rubberbanding is the best choice since of increased boost costs...

Since nobody was sure when the main missions will open up presumably the guys at the top have things better to do than just waiting for the 70M mark to be hit. Since the main missions are worth a ton of point if you didn't do them while someone else did of course you'd be nowhere near the top. But it shouldn't matter because we know in the end what matters is that you done the final set before the whole thing ends, and there's no reason to believe people who placed top would somehow forget about this.

I'm also trying to figure out how to approach this event after the nerfs since now you can't just plow through stuff with boosts or overpowered characters. Might be doing less overall rounds, though I figure other people are subject to the same limitation as well. Currently sitting at 16th in my overall bracket with more than enough main missions to hit top 10. Now to hit #1, I've no idea, since it's actually no longer trivial to clear all the 230s.
  • Soo...how is it that the top ranking players in my bracket have no higher than a lvl 40....do they not have to face level 230 opponents?

The only reasonable way to do the tournament now is to tank I think, but the people whove been grinding 230s can't really do that anymore since too many stacks have been built up.

I have one character at level 141 and I've never faced anyone over 200 other than a solo Hood so yeah, they all know how to tank I would assume?

I think the patch reset the levels on the main missions. It seems like the hardest mission is also more resilient at 230 compared to before but the other stuff drops off quicker. If the +3 AP is still available as a drop, I can see just saving that for a couple of 230s and do the rest normally.

Currently my strategy is boost for the one hard mission with +3 AP, play normally for the other villian missions while their levels are low, and then do the goons mission and retreat whenever they get a major attack that I cannot prevent (assuming it hits hard enough, like Tommy Gun). You take less damage for retreating than eating a Tommy Gun, and you also have a chance to lower their levels.

With the right characters and some manipulation (losing on purpose to lower the level of the enemies) one didn't need high level characters. I was in top3-top8 consistently with a 82 3/5/5 OBW and 32 3/3/3 Patch. The third member didn't even matter. With 3 boosts almost every match, except the 230lv DA, was over in 5-10 turns.
After the changes though, things have changed. Just finished the last mission in my main (Magneto, Hood) at level 130. Barely made it.

How? I can't click anyone's name in the PVE event?

IOS update. It is live in the USA App Store. Not sure about other places.
