Thick as Thieves

I'm #1 in my bracket at 8975, having done nearly one full run through on the current sub missions and beaten each of the new main missions one time. I've been grinding solidly throughout the event, but not excessively so (3 resets, not 4). There isn't a single 230 mission I can't beat, so not been leaving many points on the table in those resets, until today - timing is now becoming less favourable for me in the UK, with a full time job getting in the way as well!
Been using OBW along with Patch and Spidey for the most part, but having GSBW forced on me this morning, man does she make the fights quicker. Two pink matches with boosts, to generate a ruck of green and subsequently a board full of strike tiles. Admittedly, a mid-tourney patch on Patch might slow this down, but it should still be viable for me with Spidey for control.0 -
Currently 2nd in my bracket on 8723.
I ground the 1st sub 3 times, the second a little over twice and the 3rd sub I only started 3 hours before the end and finished 2nd.
I've played all the new missions once in the main bracket and haven't touched the latest sub at all.
Not sure if this helps work out the scoring and rubber banding or makes things more confusing.0 -
Currently at #6 in my main with ~9700, and #2 in my sub with ~1170. Interestingly, my sub should have refreshed an hour ago, but only 2 missions did - if they all refreshed then I'd be well ahead.0

Before going to bed last night I decided to do a run on the sub-event and try once more for a 3 rotation play. I didn't care much about rubberbanding because it was late so I flew through it and ended 1st in sun and 3rd in main. This morning I open the game and in main I am #131. "****?" is the thought that crossed my mind. Then I see 1 additional mission in the main and I read about brackets that get over 6K and I have to wonder. Was it really worth it to try and be as consistent as possible in the early subs of the event and fight 130-230lv fights for 10 points when someone can just fight these monster missions and, benefiting from rubberbanding, catch up in no time? I feel less motivated more and more as I play the game. I only miss 1 yellow for Patch so I guess I will go for top 50 instead because it's too much trouble for just 1 blue Daredevil, which I don't even like that much. What do the devs think anyway these days when they make these choices?0

You are lucky you can even open the new sub brackets...
I guess that if even high level players are getting pissed by this event, at least some, it MUST be horribly wrong.0 -

But yeah, I can see what you want to say.I play for 6 weeks now and the constant grinding is getting on my nerves because it is the type of grinding that is the most irritating. Also, with this kind of gap in values, missing a couple of missions in early subs becomes inconsequential, while missing them now may change your ranking significantly. What is even more irritating is that no one can be sure about what points he will find in the next corner. I am starting to believe that the only way to enjoy the game is to play once per sub (you will most likely find low levels enemies so no tanking), continue with your life and hope for the best. Let the rubberbanding do its trick and you have your life back.
EDIT: On another note I saw Disney's Maleficent new trailer yesterday and it looks sweet. One of my favorite villains comes to the big screen and she looks amazing.0 -

This happens in every single PVE event to date. Points awarded are low at the start and it ramps up significantly towards the end.0 -

This is so weird... i been doing grinding since the 1st day of the event... with the new event appear in main bracket suddenly out of non-where some unseen name before suddenly at #1 spot with 11000+ points... i dun get how the scoring works anymore... i grind all the mission become one point only to reach 9900 points only... where the extra 1k point come from? i am always #2 in my bracket so that is no way i am missing any point that has been reset... any idea guys?0

Exactly what happen to all of us who work hard to grind throughout the mission... I have been completing with Rimas for #1 spot for quite some time till the main bracket pop out new mission which significantly boosted lots of player to top 10... still i am able to stay near to top 10 with 9900+ point now... but i dun get how the #1 player able to grind till 11000+ point which i never see any of his name in top 10 before... which is quite suspicious and confusing how the scoring system even works... now i felt unmotivated at all... maybe just do lesser grinding and wait rubberbending take over? who knows... till dev set up how the scoring systems work.. pretty much its a lame scoring system what i can see now...0 -

yes i known i constantly checking back as its almost hit the target score player... i start ASAP once main mission is available... i have finish every finish and grind till left 1 point only.... but there is huge difference gap of 2000 points now between me and the #1 player which i never see him before beside Rimas which also currently between #7 or #8... i even finish the sub mission event as well... now there is no more point for me to grind out except the one pointers which is pretty much pointless seeing the big gap difference... which is expected like previous pve scoring system...0 -

it's called rubber banding, the lower someone is, the higher they'll climb for doing the main missions. for some reason they are acting more like old rubber banding, instead of the new rubber banding, which is causing the lead to increase 100s an hour with no new mission timers up.0 -
Rubber banding in the main event is stupid.
So far in this event it was per sub meaning that each sub event victory counter towards the war. Winning the sub meant you had an advantage in the main while everyone still had a chance to compete in the subs because of rubber banding. This is how it should be.
When the main missions unlocked I was second and after doing a full set of main missions and the top 3 missions again I had 5800 with probably 300-500 still left to do. This morning I'm 69 with the top over 11000. Before I was second thinking of strategies to keep that place but now I see that it will be down to who can play the latest on the last day or so.
Oh well, at least I maxed out Patch.
On another note, it sucks to use villains as your main characters. Before Rags was getting locked out of the top missions. Now it's Mags and as soon as I put ISO into The Hood, him as well. There is really no incentive to not using the main Thor/Wolverine/OBW/Spider-Man set.0 -
Yeah, rubber banding is probably based on the player with the highest overall score over all main brackets, so missions can be worth a lot more if you do them slightly later than someone else if that overall leader has since increased their score by quite a bit. Highest score in my main is currently 11910 and rising.0

well this is pretty much screw up my motivation... here i though only the sub event using the rubberbending rule... guess the main bracket also doing the similar thing... well screw this i gonna call it a night not gonna grind 1 pointers lol0 -
Points are refreshing in the main bracket now0
