That reminds me of the horrible original cover system with 10 or so covers per ability as well.
For me personally I think variable end times might still rank above daily quests as well. It's what's got me playing again, at least, no more 4 or 5 am final grinds/PvE refreshes.0 -
So I take it this isn't coming today? Boooo0

Need R71 to go through. Updates are not usually something that D3 can control0 -

Yeah, first-party approval is a pain, there's a lot in general that goes with the overall process. They have to go through their own in-house approval (publisher, developer), then Marvel (because of licensing), then Apple and Google (for app store certification), and then they have to actually push out the product to everyone. Think about how much of a pain it is to get a coupon from McD's corporation and amplify it by about a million.0 -
Sorry, can anyone link me to the post where they say that R71 has to hit first before the daily?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't actually think there's any change in R71 that is technically required for the daily to work (except maybe handling one-and-done survival nodes?). It can probably just be programmed in as an event like Gauntlet with a timer of 24h.0 -

The article in Cyclops Intro thread mentions DP talking about R71 and Fury sending Cyclops to check on him for his first mission. They may not be waiting for R71, just for all slices of Iso-8 to finish. With the talk of a 6am EST reset, it could be as soon as tomorrow if they are not waiting for R71.0 -
It would make sense to start them after all cyc covers were awarded if he is the first essential, since they're is only a 24hr timer and no slices. Maybe they heard us when there was that overlap last week w the gauntlet that strained health packs to the extreme.
Hoping it posts in the morning. I was a little disappointed to see enemy of the state by itself when it posted.0 -

got to remember they only post stuff like 3 hours or less before they start so if they do start tomorrow i would not expect a pop up till like 3 to 4am est time tomorrow. fingers crossed but doubt it. What time does the last slice end 4am or later tomorrow.0 -
Yeah I never really considered they might be holding it back for that reason until I read papa's post. I'm a slice one guy, so I'm used to everything being available or at least posted come 9pm et.
However ice just posted and locked to this thread and said "soon" which doesn't sound like tomorrow to me...

We have also asked them to NOT patch during an important event. So while there could be hold ups, they have done a good job at listening, and this may be one of those times they don't risk the Cyclops event for a patch.
I did assume it would be Taco Tuesday!0 -
Will the daily quests give some ISO or only through selling unneeded 3* covers? ;-P0

Would be nice to have an HP sale for all the roster slots we'll need0

Why? You cannot win new characters. You can only win new covers for your existing characters.0 -
If this comes out as exciting as it sounds I might even give it a try. Although I'm already very addicted in another mobile game and already a paid customer, I still hope to come back to MPQ one day and meet my old pals again.0

vetheran wrote:2) People are overestimating how quick this will let them get full covered 3*s.
There are 33 characters you can get (up to this day). If we theorize, that they will go through all characters and all covers once before any is repeated, that means 99 days. So worst case, you will get 3 covers for the same character every ~100 days.
This will help the gathering of covers, but not by the magnitude some people think it will.
If I earned 3*s no other way (that is, participated in no event other than daily PvE, and pulled none from tokens), this would still take me from two cover-maxed 3*s to ten, and boost about a dozen more into the ten or more covers range. Plus fix the builds of a bunch of them. That represents a significant change to my roster. A lot of it is psychological anyway; you're more likely to stick with a game if you feel like you're making progress, even if it's slow.0 -

I think the reason that you are seeing more rumblings is purely a communication issue -- aside from the usually trolls. Miles implied that this was an "any minute now change," but the devs haven't provided any further time table. While an exact time table may not be possible, it's pretty easy to anticipate that unrest would occur when you state "maybe as early as next week." This is one of the most exciting changes to come to this game in quite a while. Accordingly, people will get restless knowing that it's coming but then having the wait time continue to drag on with no updates. In addition to all of the normal negs out there, expect a steady stream of complaints every day that this doesn't start and no update is provided.0 -
When they say something is happening "maybe as early as next week," I don't assume it's definitely going to happen next week (never mind the first business day of that week).0

You guys underestimate how slow Apple can be at approving updates. It's certainly possible they submitted it last week.0

Potentially the week before that even. Apple doesn't give two tinykitty about a developer's time table, because if you want a successful app, you pretty much have to have is on their app market (and from what I have heard, Google can be just as bad, for likely the same reasons, but I've definitely heard this less consistently about Google).0 -

Google has more competition, since there are things like the Amazon App market out there.0
