Thanks.
Did you read the thread, buddy?Mau-- wrote:madeofglasz wrote:Also, this is my first time doing The Gauntlet. Does it scale reasonably with your roster like most of the others, or is it more difficult for a weaker roster? It sounds like it's more difficult than the usual PvE, so I'm curious.
Scaling isn't too bad, the issue is that you will face many matches against Magneto and/or Storm. So you need a diverse roster to handle it if you are in 2* land.raisinbman wrote:madeofglasz wrote:I understand why the devs allow ten lucky people get ten extra tokens. That's fine for them. I'm sure some people love competing against ridiculous odds and get a kick out of that. I'll take a shot at it, but won't expect much.
This seems unfair to people who are finishing up Rocket and Groot after the start of The Gauntlet. I need my healthpacks and my A-teams to grind up Rocket and Groot as it finishes. Thankfully I'm not top 2, but tonight's going to be rough on people with two or three (if you include PVP) events running at the same time.
Also, this is my first time doing The Gauntlet. Does it scale reasonably with your roster like most of the others, or is it more difficult for a weaker roster? It sounds like it's more difficult than the usual PvE, so I'm curious.
The gauntlet is arguably the most difficult event in game but is balanced out because you (technically) only need to do each node once.
Scaling, especially later on can get quite ridiculous, and it can scale mid-event, so doing the harder nodes first is recommended.
This is the event I save my Deadpool whales for b/c there's literal impossible(AKA Luck or die) nodes, usually the last 5-7.
There's also multiple essential characters required.
The placement rewards are new(as you may have noticed from this thread) and are very, very unfair(worse than lightning round?). I guess they're hesitant to offer guaranteed 3* 10-packs to the general public.thanos8587 wrote:madeofglasz wrote:Also, this is my first time doing The Gauntlet. this is my third gauntlet (day 101) havent finished one yet as it gets pretty sick near the last 6-10 nodes of the final sub.
just a note - save doing the essentials in a sub until you get all the way through the main branch. doing the essentials first will increase scaling on the balance of the main quest nodes.
at least thats what i have personally seen and had others comment on it in the forum. i had a main node jump 10 levels after running the three essentials.

For those who will get into later brackets: X-Force/LThor/Blade. Boost red/yellow/green/black every fight, with an all boost when Hood or OBW comes calling. Aside from essentials there is only one fight that will force you to swap personnel, when you fight Blade in Simulation 12. Strike tiles let you kill with match damage, yellow into green gives you single-target and AOE nukes.
WAIT A SECOND ITS A SPEED RACE? ARE YOU KIDDING??????? SO PEOPLE WHO HAVE XFORCE/4THOR WIN AGAIN? I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ANOTHER "WHEN THE SUB ENDS" TYPE OF THING!!!!!0 -

Contratulations. That was crazy fast. How was the ten-pack?0 -

Well I just joined and there is now 9818 ppl in my bracket. So really soon there will be another.
I tell when I see it is full. Bee is leader in mine.0 -
Can anyone confirm if they got all 3* covers?0

I think they are given out when event ends.0 -

I didn't get it yet. I doubt it'll arrive until the end of the event, since it's technically a reward for placement and that's when those are calculated.0 -

Is your in-game pseudo the same ? Because I don't see a CrookedKnight. Personnally I am in 6th place, but I think there are multiple brackets. Mine is at 2866 players.0 -

There are multiple brackets. 6th in mine is Hereinvegas, and the champion was Beee.0 -
They made Daredevil the essential in the wilderness sub, and I can't get past those nodes to move onto other nodes, so my hopes of finishing even the first sub in reasonable time have been dashed. Thank goodness I'll rank well enough to pick up a Daredevil in about five hours, when Rocket and Groot ends, but this is rather unfair.
I managed to get through every nonessential without too much damage to my A and B teams, but this win's for the veterans! They have a five hour lead on me and all the newer players my Rocket and Groot bracket, so they'll probably win the other subs easily, too.0 -

Personally I used Punisher boosted plus Black Widow 2* mainly. Once I get the green power, the fight was ended. OBW was stealing the AP to accelerate the fights. I also used +2/3 to all PA boost when I reached the middle of the event.
I don't have any 4* well-covered characters so it's not a challenge for end-game users only. If like me you have a Punisher 166 as your best character it's possible. But I'm the only one who don't have an X-force as main character in my entire top 10.0 -

Contrary to my fears, 2* rosters did not dominate due to easy scaling: everyone in the top ten of my bracket has a usable set of 3* or 4* characters.
I myself used nine different characters other than my level 40 Daredevil: X-Force, Hood, CMagneto, Blade, Falcon, Black Panther, Thor (4*), Thor (3*), and Loki. Used a few boosts here and there and had one health pack remaining at the end (plus a few of my top characters with usable health).
The only level that nearly snagged me up was Simulation 09, with two goons feeding Ms. Marvel. Almost wiped on that one, and it took so long to beat that I dropped several spots on the leaderboard. The essential nodes were also a little nasty since my underleveled Daredevil is mostly useless.

On edit: "IReallyHatePVP" down-rated this post and left the following comment: "because of course those in 3 starland need to have those tokens with more three star covers. what a narrow-minded point of view...thumbs down!"
This comment is a gross mischaracterization of what I actually posted. I expressed my opinion that I'd somewhat expected 2* rosters to "dominate" due to an inherent advantage that I do not share, and also I relayed factual information concerning the rosters of the top 10 in my particular bracket. In no way did I express the "narrow-minded point of view" attributed to me, nor can my post be reasonably construed as endorsing such a viewpoint. Reading is fundamental.0 -

I did the run... well I believed that I have run but it took me 30 more minutes than you to complete it!
I lost in two nodes (AI was lucky ) and finished 271
OK, for the two other subs I'll do it more quietly0 -

Took second in my bracket. Just boasted green and black used xforce hood and Thor. The last 4 nodes when it was getting close add boast of all colors and yellow and red. Didn't have to buy any health packs0
-
Done and done. #7! Anyone else have it crash on you when it started a game? It did it like 3 times! And it sucked the health packs right out of me. Glad I could whirl past some of them but man, I'm going to let others have a shot at sub 2 and 3.0
-
Got 9th in my second sub. Used thor, x-force, loki. Subbed in daredevil, punisher, hood when one of the first three was blocked to have similar color coverage.
Didn't have to spend any hp, but wouldn't have been fast enough without spending iso in boosts.0 -
Made 35th in the first sub. It looks like you're not bracketed until you do the first node of a sub(like old PVE/PVP). Used MagStorm ofc, no real trouble in that node - but beware Strength in Numbers( ) does hella dmg.
Also, there's a Sentry on the last node. RIP dude.
I'll try for the second subevent after my health packs recharge.0 -
I didn't expect to do much, and I lived up to my expectations. Beat the first sub in 200th something place, and ran out of health packs on the last node in the 2nd with the top 10 already filled. From this point, I'm just going to let my health packs recharge and take it easy. Was a fun push, though. Used a lot of characters I normally wouldn't in the interest of saving the packs early on, which definitely cost me on time early, but in the long run, I think I got much farther than I would have otherwise.0

Wow I thought I smoked it but finished 103rd. Although I will say the first five minutes were wasted waiting to connect to shield servers but I assumed everyone was in the same boat. Congrats to the top 10, I killed it and wasn't even close.0
