  • I would have been fine if they offered t500 or even t100 a ten pack but t10? Come on!

Event starts in the middle of night for me and there is no way to choose starting/ending time. Not that I would have gotten top 10 anyway I feel. Even less so if starlord is in an essential node.
Essentials will likely be Daredevil, Punisher and Hood based on the rewards list. Deadpool will be essential in the next PvE.
Deadpool as final reward could mean deadpool daily missions are going to come out next!
  • Stupid 1-10, rest ****. Because we don't have real lives to live qat 5pm on a Saturday lol.

MPQ gonna MPQ. Nice concept though.

I am utterly unimpressed with this move. They took the one PVE event, hailed by almost all players as the way PVE should be due to it's non-competitive nature, and placed a competitive element to it (albeit a small one). Extremely disappointed with this move D3.

    Two thumbs down.

This is actually a very, very good point.

These odds are worse than lightning rounds, really.

I'm not sure I'll even get close to top 10....the only way I think that'll happen is if the butt-end of the Gauntlet is so tough people don't even try it, making a big point gap.

Or any sort of daily missions, or "deployment" missions, or "Survival Mode".

Remember when they said we'd get a new mode called survival mode?

After thinking about it, those people who want to gauntlet hard right out of the gate on a Saturday night (or Sunday in your part of the world), have at it. I'll accept my recruit token when it comes.

I expect "winners" to have dumped some HP into healthpacks to get there and I won't be doing that. So enjoy. I will just try to complete the events as I'm able as I usually handle the gauntlet.

But it looks like my starting time is prior to the end of my current event... and that's dumb.
  • I don't understand how this works. First ten in the entire game? Or do you join a bracket and wait for it to fill up, then everyone starts when the queue is up?

I doesn't make much sense if we're joining a bracket where 10 people are already in the last fight.

ITS THE EXACT SAME EVENT for everyone but 10 guys, and the rest get a bonus normal pack. Jesus christ people are entitled.

I'm fine with this because the progression rewards are already better than any previous Gauntlet. If I don't get a free 10-pack, so what? I didn't get one those times either, and it was still a good event. And now it's gonna give me my fifth Deadpool purple!

An event that starts at 2am and the first 10 to clear a sub get a 10-pack? Yeah, that's messed up.
  • Need the Punisher and DP covers. Unfortunately my Hood is 5/2/5, so he'll stay that way for a while longer.

Love the gauntlet and I'll be sitting at home for the rest of the day waiting for utilities guy to show up, so I might just take a crack at top 10.

They'll never give his blueflag.png away, I'm telling ya.... sitting at 5/3/5 and I've had to pass up at least 5 hood covers

Funny part is that since so many people have two hoods, if a pvp event gives his blue in duplicate, it's going to be one of the toughest events ever.
  • the competitive aspect just seems a bit strange in that people who have the rosters capable of speedrunning gauntlet arent going to actually pull anything of use from a ten token pack. that and the cliff falloff from 10 pack gold to one standard token for actually finishing the gauntlet. suck to be number 11. seems a bit troll, but hope i can get my dp purple. that would be great anyway. punisher is just a new roster slot for me and my 1/0/0 hood wont care much.

i do like the gauntlet though. good luck to the speeders.
  • I guess MPQ only cares about the top 10 or 20 players in the world. the rest of us get scraps.

    Epic rewards fail.

It's about time D3 added a competitive angle to the Gauntlet - I mean how many times did you hear everyone complain about the Gauntlet and how annoying it was that you didn't feel obligated to it, or the times when everyone moaned about how they were able to play at their own pace with nothing to push them since there was no placement awards...

    What? That didn't happen?

Seems to me, D3 was HEAVILY PRAISED when the Gauntlet was run - despite it being quite difficult, at least it was completely non-competitive...something that most of the players seemed to want and was the main reason they enjoyed it.

My only guess is they figured people didn't play it as much, so they wave this placement award in front of them...*shrugs*...

Personally, I don't care...as long as they keep alliance awards away from the Gauntlet, I'm fine with them adding that nearly unattainable carrot in front of us.....it just seems weird to change the one thing about an event that most everyone seemed to like about it.....

According to the words from D3's own mouths, Gauntlet was so popular they extended the original one. So take that as you will.

Why were top 10 prizes added here? $$$$$$$$$$$$$

These are the first packs that(look like) they'll contain at least 1, guaranteed 3* character. While I don't approve of this approach at all, at least they're listening to what I've been trying to tell them(sort of).
  • Last run of the gauntlet my roster was just coming over the final stretch of the transition into 3*, and was the first time I've completed it. I'm hoping to knock it down again, and there's certainly little chance I'd be the top 100/1000 to get it done even if that was the way it was run. The only thing that keeps my roster in competition with everyone else, aside from scaling, is those timers. Literally, I can only compete because they let you recover.

I guess the way I look at it, they are giving me 3x standard tokens and 300 crystal I probably didn't get in the last run if everything else has remained the same. /shrug. I'm going to jump in, have fun, and try to get to the one useful cover in the event. Its a good one, why not? icon_e_smile.gif

While I like the idea of rewarding players who can run it quickly, the event is completely unfair to people in later slices of the current PvE. Not sure if I'd be able to get anywhere near top 10, but I can't even try because Gauntlet starts in about 5 hours, R&G ends in 10, and I can't afford to blow resources on Gauntlet while I'm trying to manage a potential T2 in R&G. Would it really have been so hard to just start it AFTER everyone has finished R&G?
  • My initial reaction: 10-pack for finishing gauntlet... Want! And then I read the rest and realise that with a midnight start right after a pve event there is no way I am going to be able to get said 10-pack, and I am a bit disappointed.

All in all I am in the exact same position I was in last time the Gauntlet was run (I will have three additional standard tokens and some extra iso actually) and I am sure I will complete this one as well... And yet I still feel a sense of disappointment. As a transitioner getting my seasonal 10-pack is the highlight of my season and for just a brief moment I thought I might have a shot at getting a second one.

In my opinion the reward structure can use some tweaking. Like give #11 to 25 3 twostar tokens and #26 to 100 one. Or keep the same rewards but implement brackets. Or just start a timer when people do their first mission, and if you complete the whole thing in time you get a 10pack.
