  • Anybody else have an issue where the entire tournament disappears for intervals of time? I remember the hulk (r:1) disappeared with 10 hours left and never came back. R2 came and went every once in awhile and now this tournaments doing it too. 10H to go and it's nowhere in sight.
    Pretty lame.

  • What's up with this tourney?! Everyone has an insane MMR! I got matchmade against ppl that has 2000+ MMR and they all had 3* teams...I'm coming 2nd in my bracket with 950...good ok wolverine and obw haha

    Not sure how they can fix this with the AI being so dumb. There really is no "skill" in this game. Guy with the highest point doesn't mean he's more skilled than you. Just means the player had more time to play and was lucky to not get attacked while getting up there.

    This tourney eats up my health packs like they are nothing. Every other match ends up a slug fest and me taking considerable damage. Hard to take out every threatening char when Ares has so much health and his abilities are quite powerful when boosted.

    I banged out 2401 into two late night pushes with a few battles during the work day between shields.

    L85 Wolverine, L76 Spiderman, L50 Ares.

    Keep Ares in stun lock. Feral claw until you have a healthy number of strike tiles, then pile up green for an onslaught. I'll use sunder as soon as I accumulate enough yellow and Rampage once the strike tiles are in play. I usually save Ares for last and kill the lowest HP character first to make it easier to maintain stun lock. If you're having trouble accumulating enough blue before they trigger special attacks, use some stockpile boosts.

    If you're low on health, nix the sunder, restun the team (since all the web tiles are about to be wiped out) and heal with spidey instead. If there are multiple enemies, i rampage, if it's down to one, i use wolvie's adamantium slash.

    Only health packs you'll need are for when a cascade or blueless board gets Spidey killed.

    I've found if you grind at night, after 11pm. you can go 8-12 matches without a retaliation or attack.

    Also, followed the tip of another poster and waited a day before starting the tourney.

    Got placed in a cake bracket.

    I'm in first with 2401, 2nd place is 1055 with 8h to go.

    Looks like the response to tank teams is allowing people 1000 points lower to see you and bust you back down as you try to advance.

    Though no one puts in a tank team until they shield, so they're not so much able to bust you down as they are to catch up more easily.

  • It's not uncommon to take out the two guys that isn't Ares with a 6 red + 6 whatever else the rest of team uses by turn 3. This has nothing to do with AI. If you had to play against someone that starts out with 3 AP boosts (and subject to the same handicap as the computer) you'd also see 2 of your guys blown away by turn 3 half of the time and then get permanently stunned the rest of the match. I understand why the boosts are there, but there's literally no way the defense has any chance of putting up a fight against 6 AP in 4 colors whether they're trying to tank or not.

    The defense is necessarily supposed to win as much as they are supposed to maybe take out a single cover or damage a few enough to force health pack use.

    Always thought boosts should be for PVE events only to make things more interesting.
    Some say boosts are there to give newer players a chance to win but with the way things are, boosts = I win button
  • Boosts also cost you ISO. Sure you win a few more matches in the short term, but it prevents you from upgrading as quickly in the long term.
