Is anyone else finding their brackets to be less competitive than usual? I'm playing a lot less than I have in the past but my placement isn't sliding like it usually does when I miss a refresh or three. Others in my alliance have reported clearing the subs 2 or 3 times a day and still maintaining the same placement. I just don't understand how you can not play for 8 to 18 hours and maintain the same rank.
The reason I've been skipping refreshes is that I was hoping to fall far enough behind and kill any temptation of chasing Elektra. Somehow I'm still in the top 50 so I keep going back.0 -

Well my bracket less competitive than usual as there still only 307 people in it instead of 1000. And the bug finally hit me I now have a maximum of lvl 40 in LA - as thor cannot go below 40, and lvl 59 in Wakanda.0 -

1) It's the holidays
2) Could be your bracket
3) Some people are heavily scaled and others aren't. That's going to mess with people's scores.
4) It's a 7 day event, maybe some are focused on rubberband
5) Maybe some didn't grab Loki/had thrown away Loki b/c he used to suck0 -

It depends a lot on luck rather than the event when it comes to competitiveness, and a little on how desirable the rewards seems to be. Everyone saw how devastating 4Thor was against a single target, so subsequently a lot more people went nuts trying to get her. Electra on paper doesn't seem that great, but she doesn't seem that bad, so probably not as many people are trying as hard. Besides we didn't get a "play and see" preview of her abilities like we did with 4Thor. So some people have probably taken a wait and see approach....
There is a tendancy to find the later you join in the event the less hardcore grinders you find in the bracket, again it depends very heavily on how lucky you get, at times it can be as bad as earily starters....
The other impact is the change in the time between refreshes has increased by 30 minutes to 3 hours... and as a result each pass drops you by 25% points instead of the 20% before hand... The overall effect seems to be less points over the same time period.
Last but not least, it's coming up onto Christmas, people going on holiday, heading back home from colleage/university, end of year work deadlines, extra shifts at work for the festive season, so yeah all this would have an effect on the number of people playing.0 -

This is THE thing D3 should fixed or just pull the event. I could just be argued that if everyone in the bracket was bugged or not then it was "fair" fight for the event rewards. You had to put in more work than some other brackets but it was "fair" inside the bracket. However I know for sure now that people in the same bracket have scaled nodes while others do not. An alliance member in my main has the correct node values while as I posted above have the trivial nodes across the board. This is just totally unfair they should admit that the bug is game breaking and compensate everyone not effected by it and if the cannot fix it just pull the event.0 -
Wolveroach is in slice 1, 45k and #23. #1 is 72k, #10 55k. He has no Loki.
Moon Roach is also in slice 1, but 77k is good enough only for #10.
There's a whole lot of grinding going on.
And there's still just over 4 days to go.0 -
Is there a forum for mercs? We have 5-6 high PVE scores going in our alliance but will not get top 50 as a team. We've talked about some of us with the high scores joining another alliance to get Electra cover then hop back to our original alliance. Any alliances out there in the 50-60 range that could use 5 players between 50k and 80k currently to push them into top 50?0

Go here in the Alliance sub-forum.0 -

Sigh. I feel for you and the others that are trying their best but really don't have a shot at the alliance cover. But please keep in mind that doing this means an alliance will be kicking 5-6 members to make room for higher scores. And this is why this event is going to suck again. It is going to turn into the "what are alliances willing to do for a 4* cover" event.
Our alliance runs the same 20 from the start of an event to the end, unless someone leaves the alliance. During the 4hor event, we got top 50 in every sub (and there were no "main" missions), yet we finished out of the top 50. How so? All the kicking and mercing that goes on in the final hours. So far our alliance has been top 50 on the subs, but I am sure that we may run into the same thing again.0 -

Hahahahaha, you and me both but I fear it's not worth it anymore.
I'm currently sitting on 64,744 points and that puts me currently in 51st position in my bracket. 51st.......!!!!!!
I'm trying to get as much out of all the nodes as I can (down to 1 point) but top position is sitting on 112,202 which is double what I've got so how in hell am I even going to get one Elektra cover unless I grind all the nodes down to 1 point then keep grinding till they go down to zero?
Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!
I might as well just go back to Sentry pvp and make sure I get top 100 for a black Loki cover.0 -

I'm not disagreeing that it might be out of reach for you but, except at the very end of each sub, you really shouldn't be grinding down the nodes to 1. You should be playing a clear every 3 hours. That yields the maximum points.
Like I said though, there are 2 subs already under wraps and those point leads have been locked in. Probably won't be catching the leaders, top 50 at least gets you a cover!0 -

full clear ONE time ever 3 hours. double tap if you want to sleep
Grinding only pulls ahead on short (12 hour) subs0 -
18 nodes? That means you have to average a node every ten minutes for 36 hours to keep pace. That's completely freaking insane.0

Hey, I see you trying to take my spot at first
I know anything can happen with a Pve this long... It sucks that it's between holidays too0 -

Can not catch you as long as you hit every refresh. I have missed one each night due to sleep. So I will settle in the top 5 at least.0 -

I did a clear over lunch, and there's one essential, and then three more nodes open up (including a second essential) after you clear the last regular node, if I remember the sequence of events right. That's the case in both subs.0 -

That turns out not to be the case. Wolveroach doesn't have Loki, so can't clear the essentials. This is what that account saw.
In Los Angeles, there are only 5 nodes that you can access if you don't have Loki. There are 3 more that appear when you've done Loki 1, including Loki 2.
The other sub all nodes are visible once you get to the end of the chain.0 -
So even though scaling reset, it looks like they turned it back on? Or its half on? I don't even understand what's going on with scaling....0
