How many points do you usually finish with in an LR? What placement do you usually get?
Normally, I fight until I see a spread of 166 and their powered up brethren.
Depending on when I join, that is anywhere from 25 to 210 (my personal best in LR) points.
After that, I starting getting ripped apart and always finish under 100 points.
Figure out how long it generally takes you to clear through the seed teams. At the beginning of the LR, queue them up, walk away, but leave the app open so they're still there. Then start the LR however long it takes you to clear the seed teams before the end of the LR (for example, if it takes you 20 minutes, start at the 20 minutes left mark), and you'll barely get attacked, and still have seed teams, and when you do get past them, you'll see people roughly at your level. 166s aren't usually going to attack someone at 90 points that late, because they won't be in their queue.0 -

Is this going to be the final version or the typical "things might change as her powers get rolled out over the coming months, but this is what we have right now" version? I guess I'm asking how much testing has gone into her or if this is kind of a beta test so you can use our play patterns to determine if her powers are on a good level or too weak/strong?0

You get another break there 25% versus the expected 1%
Now yes, sharding on the brackets could mess you up a little bit, but in general my assumption is that if you were someone who could grab a heroic token in a traditional LR, you're not going to have a problem getting one in these.
Here's where your argument fails. You highly overstimate the amount of people that CAN grab a heroic token in an LR. Hint: is a way smaller percentage than the people who could have got them in the progression rewards of the current events. There's also the possibility that sharding might actually help some of the lower transition players. If you get a bracket that's just 20 2-3 transitioners, you don't have to outscore the maxed vets, you have to outscore 19 people like you.
This just doesn't happen. Or at least I've never seen it happen. Transitioning players don't get to play in brackets full of their peers, they're divvied up among the whale sharks population to be their morsels. The best you can hope for as a transitioning player is to end in a bracket where the ratio of sharks to peers is relatively lower. (I bet sharks prefer this too)PPPlaya wrote:Will the Lightning Rounds count towards the seasonal points? This. Please can we have a quick answer on this? It will make all the difference in having to kill ourselves to get 1k points in this worthless Rags-as-reward PVP.0 -

With all the HULK SMASH fixation on the 500-point progression token, you'd think the LRs weren't doing something awesome like giving 1+ Anniversary tokens to 25% of participants every two hours.0

It made no sense to me to do this for lightning rounds. If it is a weak Thor, then it is 2 v 2. If it is a strong Thor, then it is longer matches (defeats purpose of lightning) and more damage to the other 2.
I thought it would be a better trial to put a loaner 3/3/3 (or 5/4/4) lvl 150 into everyone's Heroic PvE team. That way you get to experience the skill set without fighting a mirror image every match. And it would have been a much needed boost to the limited Heroic set.
Who knows, though? Maybe I will be surprised.0 -

You would think this is a thread about the error in combined arms and Heroic and how its being made up with the 500 point progression as oppose to commenting on the originally planned reward structure.0 -

True, that 25% comprised of X-men, S.H.I.E.L.D. and the such. They were really hurting for more tokens, what with their poor half-empty rosters.0 -
Will these special LR still be 48 hours or will it be a shortened time frame due to the late start and "special" nature?0

It wouldn't be as annoying if it weren't replacing tokens that were basically participation awards with ones that only 25% of people will get. And even though it's a rotating 25%, and odds are you'll get lucky if you keep trying, that relies on having the time to keep trying, since Lightning Rounds have a higher barrier to entry, both for time and roster, than low-tier progression rewards in a regular PvP or PvE.0 -

You can score 1400 in the current event. One of my teammates is at 1300+ atm, and he's nothing out of the ordinary - just the usual maxed 3* / maxed 2* / maxed 1*.0 -

Don't forget the mandatory shield hopping (500hp+ expenditure).0 -

400/10000 = 4%.
4% << 25%.

It says as a result of the error we are adding an anniversary progression reward. Now I have never been good at reading between the lines, but in the absence of any commentary on a change in rewards, I am lead to believe this was the original plan.0 -
Also reserving ultimate judgement until start of lr. Initial reaction is scepticism. Have only scored above 200 points once and reaching heroic token placement reward once in 170 days I'm not seeing how I would able to get any anniversary tokens. Especially with the 'extra participation' bashing me back into anonymity.0

Pylgrim wrote:I'm guessing that the people who adore the LRs are the ones that have those highest leveled teams and get to crush the chumps like me that for some reason keep getting dragged into their brackets.
The real prize in LRs is the ISO you get - anywhere between 1.5k and 5k, depending on:
- how soon you jump in (preferably ASAP)
- how many other players jump in
- how strong of a team can you field AKA who's the featured hero
- last and the most important, how many 2* covers do you pull (that's where the bulk of ISO comes from)
I once got 5k just by killing a truckload of seed teams and a few noobs, during a late late night LR. But even if all you get is 1k, it's still the best time to ISO. conversion percentage in the game. Progression rewards are just the icing on the cake.0 -

The same top-dog 25% every iteration of the lightning rounds, leaving everyone else out in the cold and tokenless.0 -
Will these LRs add to our overall Anniversary score or will they be seperate like traditional LRs?0
