Yeah, my bracket this morning had no one with a character higher than the 120s, and my 274 was good for first by something like 40 points. The sharding seems reasonably kind.

I'll say so!

I've been able to manage top 5 twice, #2 twice, and a top 10 finish overnight. Surprising since more than half of those I've done nothing more than fight seed teams.

I almost had #1 in the 7am round. I queued up the seed teams, fell back to sleep part way through my 1st match, woke up, and was just a few moments shy of finishing my last match before the event ended.

What are the possible rewards for an anniversary token and the percentage of getting something worth my time and effort?

But hey - maybe I wasn't trying HARD enough or some kind of random chance blah blah blah like everyone's saying in this thread. Clearly I'm just lazy and just begging for free stuff since I don't have any maxed 3*s. So I'll tell you what: don't sell Daken yet. I'll try at least 3 more times. I'll keep you posted if I get any tokens.

You're not starting at the beginning, are you? Whatever you do, if you don't have a 166+ roster, and probably even if you do, starting at the beginning is like starting PVP at the beginning - it'll get you bracketed with the psychos. Load up the seed teams and wait.

Load up the anniversary token screen and press the little "i" in the lower right corner. Short answer: about a 40% chance of 3* or better.

Load up the seed teams right when the event starts. DON'T START FIGHTING THEM!!! Wait till (however long it takes you to get through the seed teams, personally 30ish minutes) are left.

I also recommend trying to use ONLY your best defensive team for all but the last match or two. Nothing worse than using a weak defensive team and getting smacked back down as you're climbing up.

I've personally managed top 5 twice & #2 twice so far. All but my 1st round top 5, I only fought the seed teams. (I really shouldn't have tried starting right away, but I did want to go to bed.)

Queuing up the entire slate of seed teams by loading the Lightning Round at the moment it starts, and then staying there until you're ready for a run, makes a top 5 finish quite achievable even with an early-transition roster. You're exploiting the way the queue works, so it may not feel entirely ethical, but tokens!

Hit the ? mark in the screen where you can buy them, and see for yourself. The chances of getting a 2* from this token are significantly lower than any other token in the game, including the 10 packs. If you want a breakdown:

** 63.6%
*** 21.9%
**** 13.9%

The *** and **** awards include Iso-8 and Hero point awards "at that level." The **** is largely DEVIL DINOSAUR. I don't know why, but any time I type his name I have to type it in caps.

Actually, I think you're bracketed with both the psychos and the people pouncing on the Seed Teams (which I do, even if I don't intend to "run" the LR.) I've managed to top my bracket twice so far today, once with a 298ish (sooooo close to 1000 Iso...) and a second time with a 260ish. I was slated for second the second time, but someone must have knocked the guy out of first. Of course, one was at 7am the next at 9am (EDT) so that's not so bad for competition density.

So, yeah, 500 points is either impossible or next to it, but you can definitely get placement with a modest score. Whether you can keep it is another question.

You're not alone, loroku. I've participated in each round so far, applying different tactics each time, and have yet to see an Anniversary Token. I've certainly have more Standard Tokens I could ever want thanks to placing top 10 nearly each time.

While I'm glad there are chances to win Anniversary Tokens here, I would have preferred getting them from the PvEs I played before, and had Lightning Round rewards normal with double iso-8. This set up doesn't make everyone even-stephen as some will be getting loads more tokens than they would have otherwise while others will come out empty handed.

Results so far (including my first two tries which technically won the bet): top 15, top 15, top 20. The highest I've managed to get was rank 6, but I still ended top 20. Haven't been able to perfectly execute the "last second" strategy yet due to real life but I will definitely try it. So far I've started: after about 10 or 15 minutes in and then played the whole time, last 15 minutes, last 40 minutes. I tend to lose about 30-50% of my points in the last 15 minutes, so that's another reason to wait as late as possible.

Try last 5/10, maybe last 3 (or however long it takes you to complete one of the easy seed teams). Make sure you line up the really low level seed teams, not the 20/25th level ones (which may take twice as long to beat).

I really appreciated the responsiveness on trying to make this feel like an Anniversary after the weekend missing token letdown. ( If the week hadn't been so hyped, it wouldn't have mattered. )

Anyway, while I bought a few HP because of the improved listening that has been shown, my next developer support purchase will be because of this fast response and trying to meet the expectations set for a blowout party week!

Another factor to consider is that it's easy to say "try in the last 5 minutes" but actually kind of hard to do in real life. Things have to time out pretty perfectly, considering this is a pick-up-put-down sort of game and missing a 5 minute window is easy to do. Just under 36 hrs to go so I'm sure I'll get a few more shots. I'll keep updating. But yeah: just starting in the last few minutes doesn't really guarantee anything because lots of other people are doing that, too. But Thing is still right in that it's better to have a ~20% chance to RNG my way into a token than a 0% chance to get it from actually participating the way we're supposed to.

Yes, iso is nice. But I can get iso anywhere. I just want my tokens....

At this point I don't know what else to do because the wolves will be out looking for prey for the entirety of lightning rounds, so I'll try the "enter last minute" strategy y'all've mentioned.

Upon further review, while I do agree that the 500 points seems unreachable, it's possible to finish top 5 with a transition roster. I played 2 so far, finished 2nd in both. In one of them, an X-Men guy was first but in the second, a player with only level 94 characters finished in first with total points in the mid/upper 200s.

Its good to hear. I was really frustrated(which wasn't helped by lack of sleep and venom heroic/combined arms snafus). Plus, my entire usable roster got destroyed. I know it may not seem like much but you've given me hope...I will take a nap then try again!

If they lowered the 500 token to 400, I think that would be reasonable. 400 is achievable with the appropriate amount of effort. 500 is completely luck based.

This past LR I hit 480+ 3 times, but could never cross 500 due to the masses smashing into me.
